Rubinrot (2013)
Very nice movie
When I first saw this movie and wrote my first review I didn't know anything about it being a trilogy. My first thoughts were: I really liked this movie, but I left that too many things were left unsolved. now I know better, I know why. So this is my revised review. I did feel then that it was destined for a second part, now I know that its for two more parts. I like that.
The plot was intriguing from the start with so many unknowns involving RUBI; and perhaps it was also counter-producing since there was so much to deal with and at the end was left unresolved. I have not read the book, but now I will do, all three of them.
I really thought the way the plot developed about of one girl being prepared while the true one is another as very freshening, and even funny.
However, at the end I felt kind of empty for having too many unknowns left. I mean for instance, her ability to see ghosts, something that was not addressed or solved in the movie. Also, there is the part about her friend being spied on and her data on their desk. There is also the most important part, why her cousin and husband stole the first machine. And of course, lets not forget the prophesy. Well, just to name few of the mysteries unsolved.
I am not sure if the books ends like that. The last time I felt this was Harry Potter and the Deathly Relics-part 1, but then, I have already read the book and I knew that it was only half the story.
I will be waiting for the rest of the trilogy. I sure hope they don't run out of money before finishing it.
The Bourne Legacy (2012)
It could have been named anything else
I feel that the only reason it was named after the "Bourne" trilogy was to win over its followers. If you liked the original movies, you'll sure go to see this one, as I did.
the truth, it has nothing to do with it.
I loved all three original movies, however, I just don't care about this one. It felt just like watching any regular action movie, which this one was, just a regular action movie, BORING you to death with its too lengthy chase scene.
The first quarter of the movie was just aimless trying to decide where it wants to go. As a fact, I'm still trying to understand how they got (killed) everyone in the program, but just simply forgot that he ever existed.
The end was definitely aimed towards a second sequel. I don't think I'll pay to see that.
Battleship (2012)
Horrible, horrible, horrible
A horrible movie with no plot, no good acting nor direction. I really think that it's the plot's fault.
I love Sci-fi movies, but this one was just too horrible to take. A museum ship full with live ammunition???? Such a mighty alien space ship destroyed by hitting such a tiny little satellite????? Nahhhhhh
I am still trying to figure out how did he manage to get her that first burrito in 5 minutes. I think that 5 hours would have been a more accurate approximation.
Science fiction movies writers and directors have forgotten what is a good Sci-Fi movie and just moved to an overload of special effects.
I think that movie theaters should give us a full refund if we walk out in the first quarter of a movie. Its only fair.
WarGames: The Dead Code (2008)
Awful
I actually watched this movie on TV. I was and still am a big fan of the original War Games movie. Just to think it was made so long ago in 1983. It was fantastic.
But I can't say the same about this one. The first half of this one, is OK. It builds up to many scenarios, already seen in other movies (cliches), as a Computer gone wild taking control of things its own way, an army(I think it was)guy wild about his project, etc....
But then, the 2nd half just lost it. No plot, no idea of how to develop it or end it. Too many "Its Over" scenes only for Reply to rise again. It got boring after a couple of them.
I felt it was a waste of time. I will try and rent the original movie again, if I can find it........
Grown Ups (2010)
Out of ideas, just big names.
I'll keep it short: it's an awful movie. I went expecting it to be nice, relax and enjoy, but it was boring, awful and even out of taste in some scenes. This was the first time I wanted the movie to end soon so that I can get out of there. It was really boring, no matter how I tried to find the funny parts in it. Of course it had its laughs, good ones too, but they were too few. The movie just sinned in many ways. First, it was just a lot of ideas glued together by unbelievable links. Second, it was stuffed by too many clichés, some over used, some under developed. And really, the straw that broke the camel's back in this movie was the unbelievable scene about Adam's missing the final basket to help getting the other guy's self esteem up. Once again, big names DO NOT make good movies, especially if they get hijacked by a dull out of ideas Adam Sandler, who is also the producer. Salma Hayek went unnoticed; I thought Maria Bello was much better. Alas that in the movies you can't get your money back!!!! Not worth wasting you money or time on it.
