Loham (2015)

Watchable

Mohanlal was entertaining, but the movie was just terrible with many plot holes. why was the Andrea bath scene in there, what purpose did it serve? Three songs and none were good or memorable. Guess Director Renjith shows his true self and came up with copying from Hollywood movies. SPOILERS ALERT

the scene in which the flight departure is put on hold and the police commissioner gets on the plane and inspects the passenger list to find the thieves and finds different people with similarities to age and skin color was copied directly from a 2002 Hollywood movie called STEAL. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0282552

Bending the Rules (2012)

nice movie

Just saw this, liked it. Although could have improved on the action scenes (shoot-out) and mainly the plot. Jamie Kennedy's role would have been done way much better if it had gone to John Getz (20 years back) or Jon Lovitz. But nevertheless Jamie did a nice job. Adam Edge Copeland went through the film as if he had long tenure of previous experiences and i was surprised to find this is one of his first movies in leading role. Liked him very much in this role, hoping for more. This movie reminds me of late 80's and early 90's cop movies such as "hard way". Jennifer Esposito and Elena Lyons looked hot. Kevin Weisman, Philip Baker Hall and Jessica Walter did a nice job and will remain in my mind for at least a year. I am definitely going to recommend this to my friends.

The Old Fox (1977– )

Nostalgic Feel

During 1991 to 1995, I used to watch the English (dubbed) version in our national channel (doordarshan) along with other German series such as Derrick, The Investigator (Der Fahnder). God How I loved them all, even if these were dubbed. I am still a great fan of Klaus Wennemann for his unique portrayal of The Investigator (Der Fahnder).

About Old Fox: I remember it was really like a real life police investigation, because clues to the murders were obtained real slow. most of these were got when the senior officer (Old Fox) cross-questioned the people involved and found some glitches in their story. Like I said, very much real life, so some people found it dull and boring, but for those who followed the dialogues, it was brilliant.

I wish I could time travel to the 1990's.....

Cheppu (1987)

Plot stolen from "Class of 1984"

The plot for this movie is 85% same as the "Class of 1984" a 1982 'Perry King' movie. Only the sub plots differs, anyway the movie was quite enjoyable, and Mohanlal as the leading guy as well as K.B Ganeshan in the role of villain were both good. I don't remember the character's names as i last saw this movie some 15 years ago. Anyway I remember the plot. Mohanlal, a new teacher to a college rubs some of the anti-social students the wrong way. At first Mohanlal tries to deal with them the peaceful way, but as days goes by, he loses his temper, mostly due to the political student gang fronted by K.B Ganeshan. Another teacher, played by Nedumudi Venu, soon looses his marbles and totes a gun in his class. He just stops short of shooting one student.

If I say more I would be spoiling the suspense.
