The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Longing for the blue pill....
Short dialogues, good animated actions and great background-story - that was "The Matrix", the year 1999. An excellent movie, which is one of my personal favorites.
Now the story extended into a trilogy. "The Matrix", "Matrix Reloaded" and "Matrix Revolutions". If I would try to describe the movies in one, two words it would look just like this: The Matrix - Awesome Matrix Reloaded - Horrible Matrix Revolutions - &/%¤"%¤#
The main questions: Will Neo save the humans? Will he be victorious over the machines? Will that "love-story" between him and Trinity have a happy ending? The answer is...that those questions won't even be answered! Even worse, we get to see a quiet many dialogues, which no one will understand. The firs half an hour everyone just rounds around, making sure that they have no clue what is going on. Trinity talks and talks and talks...even when she is about to die! With the "dreamworld" matrix the whole movie has nothing to do any more. And where did all those poor humans in the power plant go? Those are not of interest to our heroes any more anyways. Zion furthermore is representative for all humans. Zion, however, is quiet boring. And the fighting scene between Neo and Agent Smith? It is longer than 20 minutes - I was about to fall asleep.
Let's face it: That movie is definitely not worth watching it!
Now, I'm longing for the blue pill from the first part of this trilogy. Let's hope they will spare us a forth part...
Der 3. Weltkrieg (1998)
1989 - The tension between East and West is at it's peak. The chance for a hot war is more realistic than ever before...
This fake documentary is both interesting and exciting. Who doesn't wonder how our world would look like today if the wall didn't come down in 1989? Would everything still be as it used to be? Or would the east march against the west?
The documentary sets off when the tension is at it's peak in 1989 shortly before the Berlin Wall came down. A man from East Berlin escapes over the wall into West Berlin - the eastern soldier on patrol has two choices: let him escape or try to shoot him. He decides himself for shooting him, which means that he has to shoot into the West. This is like the trigger for the whole conflict.
This documentary is well made, and in the typical interview and report style. It pictures our fear of that time, when we all were scared of a hot war between the two world powers. Sometimes the interviewed people can't hide a smile about the fake stuff they say, but this is barely noticeable. The background sticks closely to the true story until 1989 and the results were more than realistic at this time.
Raspad (1990)
April ´86. Chernobyl. Many lifes are effected in a tragical way from this special and dramatic moment on...
April 1986, Chernobyl, Ukraine. The movie sets off that the meltdown of reactor 4 of the Chernobyl-disaster. Yet everything deals with this catastrophe, it is not the main plot of this well made movie of soviet times. The main plot is about how those few minutes, even seconds, effects the life off so many people in a tragic way. The movie shows the tragic story of a view characters, and how they act during those dramatic days, and how there life will continue, in the worst case end. This movie leaves open the ends of many stories, yet it should be hard to draw your own end.
This movie is definitely interesting for anyone who is interested in history, nuclear power or especially in the Chernobyl-catastrophe. This movie is nothing for weak nerves, no happy end should be expected. For anyone who wants to find out more about the way Chernobyl effected the life of many people after April ´86 I would strongly recommend this movie. It is not complicated and also technical details are only set in the backround. In the end you get a nice overview over the incident itself and the following days.
