The Beatles: Get Back (2021)
It''s all about the music
Fantastic inside looks at the inner workings of the greatest band in rock and roll history. Glimpse into the inner workings of the band including all the blood, sweat, and tears that went into their work for the love of doing it. And an unprecedented look at the fractures that developed to bring their breakup. But what shines most is their music, their process, and the joy of doing what they were born to do.
Supervized (2019)
Schweet
Not you're average super hero movie. However, it's got plenty of heart and character. Keeps your interest piqued. Irish influence makes it even more unique.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Somewhere amongst all the clutter...
...there is a good movie. Plenty of characters with challenges and stories worth telling. Editing and pacing were not done well. Too bad. Other than Aquaman, Wonder Woman seemed to be the best hope for DC. Really liked those parts of the franchise and find it disappointing to see what may become of them.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Quoth the bard, Much ado about nothing....
Points for set style, arctic scenes, lighting, and images. Story dragged on and on in a meandering way.
Fatman (2020)
Don't mess with Father Christmas....
About as twisted as it gets but stays within the boundaries of the acceptable. Cast did not phone it in. As someone else pointed out, destined to become a cult classic. Well done.
The 2nd (2020)
Bad cinema
Stinker and a clinker. Still a stinker and clinker.
The Upside (2017)
A good film on it's own merit.
Did not see original, the French film. Was a good film about people finding redemption from personal struggles with the aid of others. Ending wobbled a little but other than that, good character development.
Dog Years (2017)
An epitaph
This is a poignant portrait of a character that probably struck home to Mr. Reynolds in a lot of ways. The timing of its filming to become his last seems most appropriate. Let it serve as his epitaph on a career and life well done with all its ups and downs.
Death of a Nation (2018)
Not for those with tds
This is about the truth. It's researched and reported by a man who was a US political prisoner during the reign of the 8 year white house occupier. He exposes both the progressives and the "alt right" for what they are, two sides of the same coin rooted in destroying the US. He traces the long historic roots of that movement from the Civil War through the World Wars to today.
Hangar 10 (2014)
Like Blair Witch
Only worse. So I need five lines of text to have an acceptable review for IMDb. How about? It sucks five ways from Sunday. It is not worth the price of admission even if it was free. Time would be better served in a federal "pound me in the butt" prison to steal and adapt a line from a great movie, Office Space. That's five lines. Happy IMDb?
Cloud Atlas (2012)
What the....?
Cinematic masturbation. Great for those involved in making the film but so so for the audience. Listening to the audience during the run, there was very little reaction except to the scenes in the nursing home. The challenging accents for the actors were equally challenging for the audience to understand, even those with an ear for unusual language. In regard to the length, it appeared that a lot of people had the 'oh my that was 3 hours' response rather than the 'that was 3 hours long?, it didn't seem like it' response. Although the makeup will be touted as nothing short of phenomenal, the closeups revealed obvious flaws and tells of where the actor ended and the makeup began. In summary, this appears to be one of those projects where the process got more emphasis than the product.
