CBS News Sunday Morning (1979)
Not what is used to be......
The CBS News Sunday Morning Show used to be a great way for our family to enjoy a relaxing Sunday morning, catching up with a news magazine type format show, some news, fairly light hearted stories thrown in, honest reporting, etc. What happened? Now it's what's going on with your favorite Liberal? Let's talk to Hilary and Chelsey and see what great things they are up to? Let's have "Commentary" that only puts down the conservative view point, never two sided "commentary" so we are done watching this garbage. It's really sad, we enjoyed for years and years but now it's just propaganda like the Today show third hour. Bleck! What happened to entertainment for EVERYONE! It's just all about "Programming" everyone to their way of thinking. Why do you think it's called Programming in the first place, that's exactly what TV does. Sad, sad, sad.
Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones (1980)
Excellent Jim Jones, Guyana Tragedy Biopic
Quality Defines this 1980 TV Drama from it's excellent screen play to it's brilliant casting and unwavering acting. It's just the facts, it doesn't paint Jones as Bad or Good, you can figure that out for yourself. It just tells the story of his life and how Jonestown came to be and how it sadly ended. Originally this was a mini-series, now it's been combined as a long movie, either way, it's captivating and compelling. I saw it when it originally came out in 1980, then again, in 2000 and now again, in 2022. It's just so well done, anyone who enjoys a quality drama would enjoy this telling of the mass murder known as the Guyana Tragedy.
Bewitched: Samantha's Magic Potion (1970)
Good Lesson for all
Sometimes we just need to have faith in ourselves or have someone who has faith in us!
The Gathering (1977)
Touching, Warm, Classic Holiday Movie
This is a yearly Christmas movie Tradition in our home. Our family gathers together to watch another family and how they work on gathering together. One of the only live action films by Hanna-Barbera it's a Gem and a must see. I was so grateful the year it came out on DVD and now I also own the digital copy through amazon. It's that treasured in this household. It was filmed in the 70's when I grew up, and the generation is well preserved bringing back fond memories of Christmas past. That alone grabs at my heart strings from fond memories of loved ones who are no longer here. I don't want to give anything away about this movie, if you can, take a blind leap of faith and give this movie, with it's amazing cast a try, I can't see how anyone could be disappointed. I hope you find as much joy and love in it as our family does and it finds a place in your heart and in your home for years to come. Merry Christmas & God Bless.
The Twilight Zone: The Lateness of the Hour (1960)
Wonderful for what it is.
Very artistic and well acted, I love that it was filmed "live" if you will, just like a play, that's part of it's artistic feature plus like good old Rod does, he continues to deliver. If like his style, you will love and know exactly what he is doing in this wonderful episode. Isolation sure takes on a whole new look, no? Interesting. I love how what we know we know, we find out we never actually knew. I guess it's like giving the others the right to be wrong as we are all wrong so many times. While living in such a household could certainly have it's down falls, I can be open enough to see some of it's let's say benefits. Jana is a bit spoiled but she will grow up very shortly.
