The Up in Smoke Tour (2000)
Nice :)
I dig that crew, Snoop, Dre, Xzibit, Eminem, Nate, Warren G and the others. I respect them and their music. They should have credit for two things, the first is for the creativity, and the second is for making a hell of a show (specially Snoop and Dre). They didn't save on anything. The show was everything you need, cursing, weed, alcohol, love, and the atmosphere itself!
The Dre & Snoop intro was great. The music was great. The show was great. The whole concept was great. You get the point! Need I say more?:)
Kiss of the Dragon (2001)
Seen better and seen worse..
Hmm... Well... I dig Jet, have seen some of B. Fondas movies, and Tchéky Karyo who did a excellent role in Dobermann. The plot is in a way original, Jet comes to France, gets set up for killed a dude, and is trying to prove his innocence - Sounds good? Naaaah...
I've seen better movies, and I've seen worse. There are some good whopping scenes there tho' (as in every Master Jet Li movie) - But here i was more disappointed than I wanted to be.
== SpoilerS => The scene where the "ninjas" attack that boat where Jet is to get the tape that contains evidence that Jet didn't kill that dude, but Richard did. Honestly..
But there was one scene that was pretty cool... When Jet enters the police-building to get the little girl back, and manages go get into the training room for martial arts. Heheh - Let the whopping begin! Fun to watch:)
All in all, the movie was "ok" - the only thing was fun here were the combat scenes and the power-seeking Richard.
For this one I'll give Master Jet; 6/10
The One (2001)
Yin & Yang, Black & White, Evil vs. Good, Jet vs. Jet
Imagine that there are 123 universes, on each of those universes you have a planet, and on that planet lives a Jet Li. One of those Jet Li's (lets call him Evil Jet:) finds out that when he kills one of the others, he becomes stronger, faster, quicker, to put in a wrong perspective, he becomes "upgraded" - But the skills are equally shared among all the living Jet Li's. With me so far?:)
So Evil Jet has killed 121 Jet Li's, but has to kill one more Jet (let's call him Good Jet:), and by doing so he becomes in a way God, be becomes The One.
Sounds nice? Well it is, The One challenges The Matrix in my opinion, especially the opening scene, the first thing that came into my mind was "WOW!! Awesome, I want to be able to do that". I've seen a lot of Jet Li movies throughout the time, and this is one of his best (of the US made).
If you are a fan of Martial arts, heavy whopping combat scenes, and especially fan of Kung Fu - this is a movie that you have to see. You may get a bit disappointed because it has some of the similar F/X that were used in matrix, only difference is that this is Master Jet, we are talking about. (He'll whop Neo anyway:)
As you may have figured Evil Jet is trying to kill Good Jet, so with some logical thinking, you can imagine the final combat scene :)
I hope you like is as much as I did. One of my favorite Master Jet -movies, 10/10 ..
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
How far are you willing to go to accomplish your dreams?
This movie took me by a great surprise, i thought this was just a ordinary drama, and boy was i wrong. Let me just say this, you have to be psychologically prepared to see this movie. I've heard of some people that had to visit the bathroom after the movie (even during).
The movie has a "innocent drug-life start' for Harry (Jared Leto), Tyrone (Marlon Wayans) and Marion (Jennifer Connelly) - where they begin with simple weed-smoking. Something that won't hold for long (without having to say more).
Harry's mother Sara (Ellen Burstyn) who plays the role extremely well, has a dream of being famous, she has a dream of being _someone _, and begins to go pretty far to accomplish that, in this case by pill-abuse, something that causes hallucinations, angst, paranoia, addiction to the pills.
The movie is incredibly well made, it shows the life of normal people and their dreams as well as desires for a better life. During the entire movie the music is emotional, depressive, and in a way discouraging.
All i can say is see this movie a few hours after you have eaten. There are some very strong scenes with drug-abuse and sex.
In my opinion this is a movie that should be shown to teenagers that wish to experiment with drugs, (on the message board there is a post that says: `should be shown in school' - I quite agree!).
Once again, one of the best movies I've ever seen. 10 (++) out of 10
