A great film for a Hendrix fan
16 December 2002
Not only does this movie consist of dozens of rare videos and pictures, interviews with those closest to Hendrix, and a very interesting stories on how Jimi created some of the unique sounds heard on this legendary album. If you are a Jimi Hendrix fan, you must see this movie.

Hendrix (2000 TV Movie)

Good movie for the average viewer, but not for the dedicated Hendrix fan
15 December 2002
When I first saw this movie, I was not a very big Hendrix fan. However, now I am a very, very dedicated Hendrix fan. I own all of his albums, I have several T-shirts and collectibles, and I have read two very in-depth biographies on the legendary guitarist. I feel you can't tell the story of one of the most influential music figures ever in just a 100 minutes. The movie had a pretty well cast, and most of the information was accurate, but there simply was not enough. It was great to see what I had read come to live, but only a fraction of it. This would probably have been a much better movie had it been double the time. For the average person, a fairly good movie. For the average hardcore Hendrix fan, a fairly disapointing movie.

What a good Star Trek movie is meant to be.
15 December 2002
Wow! What a great, action packed movie. This is truly the only movie I can think of that had my heart pounding non-stop. The story is fantastic, the effects are top-of-the-line, and the ending is the most emotional 5 minutes in Star Trek history. Although it looks quite obvious this will be the last of the Next Generation movies, keep in mind that in Star Trek nothing is certain. One thing is that the creators do,is try to close of this chapter in Star Trek if this is indeed the "final journey", but the plot is kept open in case it's not. Why else would there be an Android nearly identical to Data be found, when he had no real importance to the story? And don't forget the complete memory download from Data, which just screams sequal. If this is the last one, it was a great way to say good-bye to my favorite crew in Star Trek, and if it's not, I can't wait for the next one. Personaly, I think the last Next Generation movie should feature Q, because he saw Next Generation's first adventure, and I think it is fair that he should be there for the last. To make a long story short, go and see this movie, I promise you won't be dissapointed.

Sci-fi or comedy
15 December 2002
I do not like this film. Although it is the most successful and popular Star Trek film, the story is very dull and slow. The comedy in the movie was not only annoying, but rather unfunny. I don't know to look for this movie under sci-fi or comedy when I'm at the video store. The music is very bad and aggrivating, because it is just way to cheerful (considering Earth is facing total destruction). The character of Gillian is very useless in trying to establish a love story. I can't stress just how bad I though this movie was. But even though this is truly a bad movie, Star Trek V:The Final Frontier is even worse.

The best of the odd-numbered Trek movies.
15 December 2002
This is without a doubt the best of the odd-numbered Trek movies, and in my opinion the third best of the original crew Trek films (after Wrath of Khan and Undiscovered Country). This film has a great bad-guy, played by Christopher Lloyd, who is a worthy competitor to Ricardo Montalbaln's Khan. The movie has a very well-crafted story, and a very emotional ending. The effects are great (for the time), and it has some of the best action scenes in any Star Trek film.

The perfect example of a good Star Trek movie.
15 December 2002
This is the Star Trek movie, that set the example of what a good Star Trek movie should be. A great villain, wonderful special effects, exciting action scenes, with heart & feeling. Ever since it was released, all other Trek movies have been judged on how they compare with Wrath of Khan. This is not only a movie for Star Trek fans, it is a movie for ANYONE. If you like sci-fi, action, drama, or adventure, then you'll enjoy this movie.

Not What we wanted
15 December 2002
Although most people would disagree with me, Star Trek The Motion Picture was an OK movie. I feel though as if the creators at the time thought that what people wanted was a big-budget special effects roller coaster (keep in mind this was just 2 years after Star Wars). But what people really wanted was a movie that followed more closely to the TV show. I only reccomend this movie for Star Trek fans, and only if they have seen alll the other ones first.
