Nikita (2010)
My favourite show of all time
I have to say, I saw the adds for it and thought "woah this is something different" yet I never watched the first episode. Only on a Thursday night when nothing was on TV did I decide to take a look. And I was impressed. I've continually watched it for 9 weeks afterwards and never fail to miss an episode, if there's a party or disco on on a Thursday night, I won't go. Though I am slightly depressed there are only 2 episodes left of season 1 for me to watch, and I hope that CW pick up from the awesomeness of this show and make a season 2. Maggie Q is a great Nikita, and Shane West is a great Michael, even the little roles such as Jaden, Thom and every other minor has been cast perfectly, and it's a great script. WATCH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
Yes, it was brilliant.
As a 12 year old, I've grown up basically with my life around Harry Potter. I've seen ever one, each very different but very good, this one is no exception.
I've read all of the books over 5 times each, but unlike most, decided to watch the movies first. So when I first saw this movie, it was spectacular, I was 3, but I still know my mum said it was my favourite film.
It was only when I had read the book and decided to watch it again, that I noticed that it lacked a lot from the book, mostly the funny comments from Fred and George, and also Dumbledore's very funny madness. It missed out the most of the beginning of the book, which I would've liked to see, as in the: Uncle Vernon noticing odd looking people in cloaks, Harry being hugged by a cloak- wearer while shopping, and Uncle Vernon being told how "You-Know-Who is now gone, even muggles shall celebrate this day".
I chuckled a lot while reading the book, and it had been so long since I'd seen the film I thought I'd revisit it. However, it turned out that the moments I chuckled at in the book weren't there in the film. Especially Fred & George, my main reason for laughing.
But yes the film was spectacular, though very different from the new films of it's series, which, if I'm not mistaken, have different directors on them.
I do, however, think that this director, went a little bit too far in trying to make it seem like his previous child films, in that the children, though the heroes in the end, have occasional "child" moments, which can be described as their "stupid" moments... e.g- their late reaction to Fluffy.
Overall the film is a great film, but indeed not the best of it's series, which for me personally, has to be the Goblet of Fire.
All round, it is a good film, though.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010)
Yes it was amazing, stop judging it!
God, everyone on here is having a go at it! And mostly it's guys in their late 40s and 30s having' a moan at the talents the actors posses, I must admit, Taylor Lautner CANNOT act and shouldn't be in the film, but as for Robert and Kristen, they CAN act! Just look at their body of work to find that out, with Robert, in Remember me, you cannot fault his performance, and Kristen in The Runaways and The Yellow handkerchief.
I love the films, but sometimes, I wish I didn't. Not because they're bad, but because people don't like me for it. People genuinely avoid me because they don't want to hang with a "Pattinson chick"
I think the film should be given a break, it's not a bad film, it's not a bad cast, it's not a bad director! It came out at probably the wrong time, where now you have the Harry Potter films, which in my opinion are yes better than the twilights, for they go out to a larger surface area of people, female and male.
But! The films are great, and the soundtrack is too! I feel very sad for Rob and Kristen, who now may get chosen for films, but will not find anyone liking them anymore, since everyone who hates Twilight hates them, no matter what they go on to do...
The film is amazing, if you're into Twilight, go see it, if your not even, it doesn't matter, give it a break and just look at it as another film not as a "chick flick twilight" film.
Drag Me to Hell (2009)
Not the best, but quite a ride...
This movie for me, was just a bit too out of it's mind. I watched it at probably the worst time a teenager under the restriction age of this film could ever watch it, midnight.
And I have to say, I wasn't actually impressed. I thought it would be a gore fest, And a complete and utter scream-your-ass-off kind of film, the kind of film I hate! I know you're saying "Why did you watch it?" Truth is, I was bored, and unable to sleep, and I heard my friend say it was good, so I watched.
I did like the beginning of it, not dark, just normal. I thought this film would be like the film "Obsessed", which I loved to bits. But it wasn't, at all.
I thought it would be normal, but having an ematophobia (fear of puke) made me feel myself hyperventilating through most of it. The only frightening part of it was the puke for me, where she puked the bugs all over Chris and then puked her stomach acids into her mouth, which, as you may note with my phobia, made me rush to the bathroom to puke myself.
Worse still, the cat. Truth be told, I'm not too fond of cats. But her cat was adorable. When she killed it, I was disgusted! It just wasn't right. Especially since she had lived on a farm before, couldn't she go get a chicken instead of her own pet?
That and the goat, call me what you may, but yes I did cry when they mentioned making the goat evil, and killing it. I believe that everything has the right to live, therefore killing that animal, cute and harmless, made me want to kill the screenwriter. However when it turned evil, I knew they had to kill it, even though it was an adorable little goat.
Overall, considering I am writing a film myself to become a professional screenwriter, I will know what type of film to REALLY avoid.
Remember Me (2010)
The most amazing film I've ever seen.
When I first saw the trailer for Remember me, I thought "Just another story of guy and girl who shouldn't but do fall in love. Same old, same old" But, I wanted to see it, because I am a massive, massive twilight fan, and the biggest Robert Pattinson fan of all time. When the film started up, about five minutes into it, I realised I never expected it, what I actually saw. Rob's portrayel of Tyler was like nothing I'd ever seen, I felt like after ten minutes, I already knew Tyler. I did dislike the fact that everyone hated him at some point. He somehow reminds me of myself, except, older, more beautiful, and a different gender. He always said something he shouldn't have, but he wasn't afraid to say it. The Tyler/ Caroline relationship I thought was pretty good, I can also relate to that, in a way that I am very close to my brother, so the relationship between the two didn't take me as much by shock as it did to everyone else. Aidan was a very funny character, when he said "I want to put something into you..." to the teacher when he wasn't concentrating on his words, I was laughing more than anyone else in the cinema, perhaps because most of them were so much older than myself. I think the casting in the film was superb! A lot of the people I've spoken to said to me that they didn't like the fact that Rob was swearing, drinking, smoking, and coming crimes. I think, it was a fun part to play for him, I honestly couldn't care less for the smoking, I know a lot of people who smoke. I have to say that when I heard from other people that it was sad, I honestly had no idea. The ending, was a major blow to me, I was gob smacked, I was crying harder than anyone else in the cinema, I generally feel more emotion than all of them. I was like, "Oh my god! He's in the twin towers! 11th September 2001, 9/11!" I was crying so hard, I had no idea. It just goes to show you, that anyone could've been in the twin towers that day. For any reason.
Vampire Clan (2002)
This film was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I could rate it over 10, I would. The roles were very difficult to play. Drew Fuller did an amazing job, as he's more known for his roles in Charmed and the ultimate gift. This character is much, much darker than both of those. When I first saw the film I thought, impossible. This can't be based on a true story, not that it seems fake, it's just the theme, vampires and the gore of what happened to Heather's parents. I loved the role of Rod and found him ice cool, even for a villain he was my favourite. The swearing didn't bother me at all, although I was surprised to hear the F word slip so much from Drew, as I knew him as Chris in Charmed and had to rewind the film twice before I could get it into my brain. I would recommend this film to anyone. It's an amazing story line, and it's all round fabulous to watch. Well done to the casting! You've done well.
