Mac & Devin Go to High School (2012)
Sigh.
This movie is terrible and caters to 13 year old pot-heads.Anyways, here's some reasons why i think it's awful: It's terribly unrealistic. Yes, most comedy movies are but this is unbearable. With most comedies, there is a slight possibility that the things in depicted in the film are possible. First off, 15 years in high school? Yeah, okay..Why couldn't you drop out? Someone blowing smoke in the form of a gun that shoots smoke across the room is stupid. Someone inhaling smoke through their a** and exhaling it as a brown smoke is stupid, not only that but it's the stupidest fart joke in history. Then the final scene where instead of a valedictorian giving a speech, he raps the most stupidest song which gives teens a reason to drink, smoke and have sex.Valediction status, amiright? Second on the list of crap: The effects. I am not a man of special effects but this was ridiculous. The smoking effects looked like someone made them on some off-the-shelf CGI program. Could they not afford movie pot? Was the budget spent on real pot and smoked in between takes? The tattoo scene with Devin getting tattoos is not only unneeded, but it looks like a photo of a hand and tattoo gun someone moved around various parts of Khalifa's body and then the tattoo appears. Third: there were so many unnecessary parts. For example, a joint narrating the story. Then at the end, gives a speech "informing" why pot is good for you. The scene with Devin getting tattoo's was god-awful and not important. The scene where Mac's two "b*****s" bail him out then they start making out was unneeded as well. This movie was made to sell a soundtrack. It caters to potheads and annoying horny guys.
The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009)
The closest thing to a "true horror" film you will get nowadays.
i've seen a lot of horror films, so many that i think there are no more for me to watch..which is very sad. I've been looking for a good horror film for a long time, and this might be one of them. Although i hate the use of nudity in horror films (mainly because directors use it to draw in more audience,) i thought the use of it in here was good. They used in appropriately like Henenlotter films.. They didn't have a random orgy scene, they didn't have a girl nude due to an unrealistic accident...They had them nude because they were attached to each other.
I like the use of not-so-obvious comic relief that contributes to the scientist's madness. The scientist is training his creation as a pet. He treats them like pets, beats them like pets etc.
I like the creativity. A horror movie now is usually a remake of a classic horror movie with more nudity (Ahem..Rob Zombie..) You all bash this movie because it's raunchy behavior, but how many of you have thought about such a plot?
The director made sure to stick to the PLOT as opposed to keeping everything visual..The director did something that isn't that important..which is he made sure it was medically accurate to avoid PLOT holes.Yet half of the viewers could care less about the plot, they are concentrated on how "nasty" it is.
I didn't like the ending.SPOILER! The Asian guy took a piece of glass to his throat. He had it good though, if someone came to find him, all they'd have to do it cut his ass from the chicks mouth..no biggie. Or he could've ripped himself off..i dunno. Just enjoy the film!
Chopping Mall (1986)
Confusion/likes/dislike
This has spoilers...so.if you haven't seen it,beware.. I enjoyed this movie, but after watching it i found myself asking a lot of questions. The first had to do with the title."It's called "Chopping Mall" but there wasn't a lot of chopping, there was more of lazers and electrocuting and one suicide ( i guess you could call it) The second had to do with Alison. She fell from a second level(?) and walked away instantly with just a limp. The third had to do with something more irrelevant to the plot... The budget was 800,000 dollars, but they were able to rent out a mall, build sets, build functioning robots, hire actors, a buy explosives to blow up a store in the mall...Wow.
In the end, i did like this movie despite the 1980's horror flick clichés. i.e the cheesy comic relief "have a nice day", the partying/sex, someone dying before during or after sex.
I mainly liked the plot: Kids stuck in a mall overnight with corrupt robots. I liked the below average acting. You watch movies now and the actors are overacting.
I disliked how unrealistic it was...i mean,it is a movie about KILLER ROBOTS..but it can still be very unrealistic. How do you expect to kill robots with guns? Escpecially a revolver? Why the hell would you blow up an elevator? Why would you commit suicide by ramming a car thing into a robot? Because your girlfriend died? No.
i digress too much. The movie was good, enjoy!!
