This is a documentary series, not an educational film, and it's great.

This series is slow moving but beautiful. It's interesting timing because of the coronavirus for sure. Because of that, I understand why people are upset this isn't a straightforward, scientific, "pure facts" series. But that's not the point of the series. The point was to spread awareness that the next pandemic is coming, that it's important and that people from all over the world (every day people, as we see) are working towards preventing it. The series covers a worldwide sampling of people working in public health or to prevent the next influenza virus. The footage they captured and people they followed across the world help give a global perspective of the next flu outbreak. They have examples from almost all seven continents. They do show the more intimate, including religious, parts of people's life but from a story telling perspective not a political or propaganda standpoint. Perhaps someone will come out with a shorter, educational film for us to watch about the coronavirus. This isn't it but it's not intended to be that.
