Beautiful Film
21 June 2010
I am going to start off by stating that this film is simply beautiful, the camera work is stunning. There is no flashy or expensive camera or special effects used, or when they are they are subtle. This ads to its brilliance. I am not a big horror movie fan, and I say now I haven't watched many at all. I watched this movie in my Film Studies lesson and was terrified yet constantly fixed on the movie. I felt I was drawn in and challenged to find the outcome of the story and found out my predictions were not always correct.

However, I found that you are more likely to enjoy the film if you believe in ghosts and the afterlife. If you are sceptic it might not be great for you as you need to go along with the fantasy of the movie.

I really liked the movie surprisingly and was totally freaked out from beginning to end by its low lighting and eerie sounds and camera work that created the tension in the audience and what made everyone jump.

Also, wasn't the social worker woman scary, with her thick glasses :)

Exceeds expectation!
13 June 2010
I was really looking forward to Sex and the City 2 but didn't expect it to be as good as it was. The first movie was good but a little long winded! This was slinky and chic and I loved it so much i've seen it twice and I want to see it again!!

I was entertained from beginning to end! There has been a wide range of opinions on the movie and lots of people were disappointed but I must of been watching the movie without tinted glasses, because it was fantastic It lived up to the glam, fashion and fabulousness of series...Brilliant!!

However, the Arab situations in the movie might of been offending to some people and I understand it, but I didn't and it did not ruin the film for me at all! So no worries there!! I personally love this movie and was ten times better than the first one, and I would totally recommend Sex and the City 2 for people who love fashion, glam, humour, the Sex and the City series and even people who are willing tohave fun and people who don't get easily offended!! Also don't listen to the critics because they ruin the experience!

10/10 for me...and i now want to go and watch it!!!

Little Women (1994)

Pure Romance!
26 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Little Women is a gorgeous film with great actors! I only recently heard of the film through a friend, and I have fell in love with it. I want my life to be like the life in Little Women! However, Little Women isn't all light and joyful, it is emotionally sad as well, when Beth (Claire Danes) died I admit I cried, It was so emotional and sad that she didn't have the chance of a life. I love the romance between Jo (Winona Ryder) and Friedrich (Gabriel Byrne), and I wish I was Jo as he is gorgeous, loving and seems to understand Jo and he is romantic! My favourite scenes are when Jo and Friedrich go to the opera and he translates it for Jo, and you see his deep feelings for Jo. Also, I love the very last scene when Friedrich drops off Jo's published book and she runs after him to try and make him stay with her...Oh my I LOVE this stunning film and it is a classic, plus I've fallen in love with the characters, the place its set and music, beautiful! Louisa May Alcott wrote an amazingly stunning novel and it has been perfectly presented by Gillian Amstrong!! 10/10 no question!

I want be an Avatar!
22 February 2010
I must admit I wasn't totally excited about seeing Avatar, this was because it had so much hype, and usually they don't live up to their reputation...but Avatar DOES! Avatar was a wonderful experience that helps you escape into a more beautiful world of Avitars. I saw it in 3D and it was amazing, the graphics were flawless, and strange as it sounds, when there was breeze on the screen I could feel it on my face. It zoned me out so much that actually felt part of the film...Breathtaking! To add to this I was totally engrossed and amazed by how real the Avatars looked, like when Neytiri was crying it looked completely real! Oh I loved this movie! However, I felt that Avatar was a little boring at first, but it got better and once my head stopped spinning I fell in love with the movie and the gorgeous storyline drew me in, the romance and wonderful way of life was WOW! God I want to see it again now! I do think however that Avatar needs to be in 3D as it just adds to the experience as this movie is a emotional journey, that is what it is a journey!! Wonderful! I want to be an Avatar!!!!! 9/10

Historic Bliss
28 January 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The Young Victoria is a beautiful film and has presented Queen Victoria in a different light to what everyone thinks about her. The films wipes away the "I am not amused" impression of Queen Victoria and shows she was a cheerful young woman.

As I love history, particularly Victorian history, you can imagine my reaction when i first saw this film advertised, i was so so so excited and counted down the days until it came to the cinemas. I was a little worried that it wouldn't be historically accurate, but it was and I loved it. I found out new facts about Queen Victoria that didn't know before and it interested me greatly.

Queen Victoria in many lights was one of our all time greatest Monarchs, and this film paints a picture of her real personality and what her life was like. She was treated so badly by her mothers adviser Sir John Conroy, because he wanted Britain to have a regency. This was what inspired Victoria to be a fantastic Queen, which she was! The romance between her and Albert was so deep and this was very well done by Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend, who were both brilliant! The Young Victoria is a heart felt love story but at the same time a great look into a major part of British History...I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! 10/10 ... no doubt!

What a disappointment for a POTC fan!!
15 December 2009
What a huge disappointment! I loved the first movie completely and is my favourite film, the second wasn't so good but i still loved it. So I was so excited about this movie to see the next part after the tense cliffhanger at the end of Dead mans chest. But i was so disappointed, it was way too long and i actually got bored by the end of it.

Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom were the only good part of it! Maybe the excitement and love for POTC is waring off now and the third movie was just not needed.

Plus i feel it was released too soon after Dead Mans Chest, therefore there wasn't enough time to get excited about it. The fact that there is going to be fourth movie worries me, i don't want it to be a flop as I don't want to see my favourite movie fail. Fingers Crossed its better than At world end! Not great, but I still love Captain Jake Sparrow...total legend!! 7/10

Magical Mystery Tour (1967 TV Movie)

'I am the egg man' LOL!!
13 December 2009
Weird weired weird, this movie was a disappointment to me really. Over the last few weeks I have watched 3 Beatles Movies at College: A Hard Day's Night, Help, and this one! The first too were simply fab but this one not so much.

The music as per usual was Brilliant and John Lennon is a total legend in this movie as he was in all (RIP JOHN + GEORGE) and I loved his hat in it lol!! But otherwise the magic wasn't working for me sorry! The whole film was a waste of time really, there was no plot, it was all over the place and it was like taking a drug trip! But i'm being a bit harsh...the music was fab and the Beatles acting was great! The songs were brilliant and the lyrics ' I am the egg man, they are the egg men, I am the walrus' stuck in my head for days lol! OK Film, but a total flop compared to the iconic A Hard Days Night and Help!! However I Love the Beatles, they were simply magical!! 6/10 SORRY!!

Gotta Love the Beatles !!
13 December 2009
Firstly, I must confess before watching this film in Film Studies class I didn't really like The Beatles much... BUT now I love them and I regret moaning at my Dad playing them in the Car!! A Hard Days Night is simply fantastic as it lets us peek into the world of the four iconic lads from Liverpool: John, Paul, George and Ringo! Made in 1964 The Beatles had just hit their hight and making this film pushed them even higher.

The Films simple plot of following the guys on their journey from Liverpool to London to perform a concert, is perfection. It doesn't need any fancy frills...it has the Beatles...What more could you want? As a 16 year old girl watching this film, I was so surprised that i loved it, the Beatles lets face it were gorgeous, and the music is simply magic. I recommend this film to any age group, even the young generation...just try it, you may like it!! Also, literally an hour ago I watched Paul Macartney on the X Factor, it was the best performance ever on that show...you have still and will always have it...Brilliant! A Hard Days Night...10/10 RIP John Lennon & George Harrison x

Iconic Carry On
13 November 2009
This is what I call a perfect film! I am 16 and was persuaded by my mum to watch this film and other Carry On films and I loved!

It is myfavourite Carry On film! Its actors occur again and again in the films and they are what makes this film fantastic. Kenneth Williams, Hattie Jacques, Sid James, Barbera Windsor and Joan Sims are great actors. Also even though they occur all the time in carry ons, they never bore me...Fantastic!!!!!

I would totally recommend Carry On Camping to any age group as it is an absolute classic and a must see. Plus don't be put off with the fact that it is old and simple, this is what makes it so good!

AnIconic Carry On...10/10!!!

The Break-Up (2006)
2/10
Dull, Dull, Dull
4 November 2009
What a rubbish movie, I went to see this expecting it to be funny, but it was the TOTAL opposite. I watched the whole movie waiting for it to begin...complete let down!!

The Break Up had two incredible actors,Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, who I really enjoy watching and was actually the reason i want to see it. However, they were 'flogging a dead horse',I was entirely disappointed.

I even gave the movie a second chance when it was on the TV a while ago,but it bored me even more than the first time. 'TOTAL LACK LUSTER'! I give it 2/10 just for the actor!

Up Lifting Funny Film
4 November 2009
This film is a lot of fun and makes you laugh, i would recommend! It was slightly predictable as many Hollywood films are, as the couples all make up and are happy, this didn't surprise me as many films have a 'lead off into the sun set' ending. However, it didn't bother me, the enjoyment of the film pushed that all aside for me as it was very enjoyable.

Couples retreat is about a couple who cannot have children and their marriage is falling apart because of it. They decide to go to an island with their friends to try and patch up their marriage.

If you are in need to see a film that is up lifting and funny, go see Couple Retreat...it works!!
