I can't give enough praise for the production team. They were awesome in several ways. They went through 9 steps to get the script as authentic as it is. Right on!! It's great to see no cut corners! Usually, something such as time period languages don't receive much attention. However, there's no cutting corners with the script when 600 A. D. Japanese was researched in order to ensure that this Television Event contained an original and genuine quality to it. Unfortunately, this is where anything that was done correctly was finished with. Actually, I fail to see the point in going 9 long steps with various types of Linguists for a script in a FICTION story. What a complete farce. It should have been classified as a COMEDY. What a JOKE!.

Didn't anyone explain to these 9 groups of Linguists that the entire show is FICTION???

I guess someone failed to inform them. It's quite sad that this entire show didn't live up to It's expectations. Even though so many Japanese Language Scholars were involved (against their will). LOL. I only hope that production spends more time on making an interesting story vs perfection in the Language.

Horrible and predictable

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is so forgettable that I watched it a second time and realized lame, lame and lame!!! I could have watched paint dry for same amount of disappointment. Why can't writers actually write something with substance versus trying to elicit thrills Lame, lame and lame. Waste of time. Ok, only if you suffer from insomnia. Lame, lame and lame seems to be the theme with this lame, lame and lame script, writing, etc, etc, etc.

I need 162 more characters to post this and I really do not want to type 162 characters which are the equivalent of 40 plus LAMES. Perhaps I can focus on positive things. Let me see if something comes to mind. I swear I will struggle to come up with several descriptive words.....no nothing comes to mind. Well, some of the acting is OK, even though the effort was not apparent. Sorry, nothing comes to mind, except the blue lights that were supposed to have killed the main character's wife. Well don't take my word for it. Watch 5 minutes and I am certain that you will come to the same conclusion.

Termination (2019)

Lame
28 February 2023
I was conducting a search for Terminator movies when I saw "Termination" advertised with a cool looking android.

This looked pretty cool with average screenplay of Astronauts approaching and somehow landing on Mars.

After a fairly decent introduction, the movie became jumbled and nonsensical, bouncing around with no plot.

There may have been a plot. However, I wasn't willing to suffer through fair to poor acting and silly dialog.

Don't waste your time unless you need help falling asleep.

Overall, it is utter trash. Why anyone presents trash like this as if it is a feature film is beyond me.

My wife and myself are big Sci-Fi fans and were anxiously anticipating the release of this movie.

After a disappointing first half-hour, we obviously hung in there and stayed in order to give the movie a chance thinking it would pick up around Lift Off and the subsequent Outer Space journey.

Unfortunately, we nearly headed for the nearest exit around the mid point of the movie. Instead, we demanded a refund and the Theatre Manager gave us passes for another movie.

We both found the acting and dialog flat and somewhat cliché and found the AI machine to be the most intriguing of the characters. I am shocked to see a fine cast fall flat due to the material given to work with. Nolan should have let the Actors Ad Lib.

We were quite comfortable with missing the ending, which one member stated it was "disappointing" as well.

The editing was horrible. How this movie did not have more scenes cut is mind boggling. As one reviewer mentioned: What was the purpose of the scene with the drone.

The entire first hour, which told the story of the earth's problems creating the need to find a new home could have been condensed to just a few minutes. I realize it is important to develop the characters, but in this case there was only one member of the family going on the Outer Space Mission.

We also found some of the special effects laughable since the Space Craft and Saturn looked like the miniature models that they obviously are.

I am rating this movie 4 out of 10 and I sincerely feel that this is overly generous.

Hopefully, Nolans' next movie will have better qualities since this motion picture was a disaster.

Doctor Who (2005–2022)
Wishful thinking evident with previous reviews.
12 October 2014
First of all, I agree with the reviews of "Kill the Moon". They mostly seemed to mention how the continuity and the redundancy of the other episodes that involved the Moon made for horrible content and lack of creativity and the poor performances of the cast.

But good reviews regarding "Oriental Express with a Mummy"? Really? All of the reviews criticizing the writer(s) and actor(s) in "Kill the Moon" should have applied to Oriental Express with a mummy as well. In fact even more so.

The forced smile of the companion that the Doctor complained of was contagious and the consistent lack of acting by Capaldi AND with the lack of creativity (this space train episode was too reminiscent of other space vehicles and/or buses, trains, flying cars in a traffic jam, the space Titanic and London on a space whale) just fell flat for me. I fail to see how anyone can call the space train (or space oriental express with a mummy) well written and creative.

The acting performances had a lot of room for improvement. In fact, the guest stars in "Kill the Moon" could have done a better job. I just could not see any thespian training evident in any of the actors in this slow moving and laughable episode.

I now hope they not only get rid of Capaldi, but the show needs a boost of fresh talent with new writers.

I have been a devoted fan of the rejuvenated Doctor Who Serries until the majority of this season has got me thinking of finding entertainment elsewhere.

A 2 Year contract for Capaldi. Really? I doubt he will finish the first one before being canned.

Tyrant (2014–2016)

The Whole Package
30 July 2014
Most of the characters were somewhat stereotypical at first impression. However, the development of the characters has been executed nicely at a very gradual pace but accelerated to match the tempo of the development of the story.

I have found myself drawn into the characters and their psyche and I believe that most viewers can identify with most of them. The cast executes quite well in general. However, the "Big Brother" controlling Jamal is overdone and slows the development of his disposition. He is intelligent enough to make tough decisions. However, due to his father's influence coupled with the absence of his brother during his formative years, he sometimes needs to be pointed in the right direction yet maintains a cynical sense of humor and pretends to be dumb. This seems to invite the continual advice from his big brother. But the overbearing continual advice from the brother is still overdone.

Most viewers will find "Tyrant" to be a very distinct and unique series and very interesting to watch. It has very good content and nearly all ages can watch this for the sex scenes display more class than most shows on the air. These scenes are shown less and less as the show goes on and when they are shown they are done without unnecessary nudity and tasteless displays of the act. The violence has mellowed as well.

I sincerely hope that the writers keep up the good work, for so far they have shown great vision and originality!

Very poor vision

I lost interest after 10 Minutes. So one guy thinks he is smart and one is struggling with alcoholism and the other is actually smart but snobby.

I really did not feel like a history lesson in personal computers and who the players really were to make it possible for everyone to have a PC. I am sure that a couple of thousand others had the same idea as well (duh!).

I have a difficult time understanding how this even made it to a Sunday evening slot.

AMC executives seem to pick shows on their whims and moods. Watching their shows are like a box of chocolates, you never know which one you are gonna get. (No I am not a Forrest Gump fan).

Back to Nature?
5 August 2013
I really enjoy the show. However, when Native American rituals and Walt's harmony with Mother Nature get way too cheesy, I feel like reaching for the remote. This is probably a big turnoff for most viewers. It is for friends I have spoken with.

The writers should avoid going overboard with the chants and Indian dances. I haven't seen my wife laugh so much in a long time when I replayed the scene with Henry's little dance and the focus on Walt's umbilical cord & Mother Earth. I mean come on!!!

Overall, we really enjoy the acting and the cast. Both Robert Taylor and Katee Sackhoff remain in good form and really have proved their versatility as well as professionalism.
