If any of this were true it would be terrifying.

Much exaggeration, and appears to be quite politically biased. I don't remember any of this in the seventies, surely it would have made the media even in those non internet days?..

A great film.

I didn't think this was going to be one I'd be able to sit through but was proved wrong. Obviously written and acted to inform those of the general public who are critics of this type of very necessary warfare, and as such it did a very reasonable job.

One proviso though some of the awful overacting made me wonder why on earth some of these people joined the military in the first place. And that woman UK cabinet minister who would rather blow up 50 people and almost certainly many more children in a shopping mall, than possibly kill a single child, who for some strange reason was quite happy to re-sell bread she'd already sold and taken the money for.

The Equalizer (2014)

surprisingly good

This was way better than I expected, although Denzil has made some poor films in his time this was certainly not one of them. Better than the original TV series with Edward Woodward, although done on a far larger budget I thought it had Paul Greengrass written all over it until I saw the credits. The music score deserves some acknowledgement too. I Only hope the following episodes are just as gripping.

What a surprise !! well worth watching.

I must admit I really did'not expect this to turn out to be such a little gem. I was locked into it from the first 10 minutes or so. But it's a great pity the screenwriter did'not fill in a few more bits of the main characters life. I could have sat there for another 40 minutes at least. Daniel Craig has come a long way since playing the Geordie bouncer and hit-man in 'Our friends in the North' a part which he played so convincingly at the time, I did'not think he'd ever be able to move on. Typecasting is so rife in TV. Realistically Sad in parts, and not the screeching OTT theatricals that you usually get from the Media.

Disco Pigs (2001)

Violent and over acted

Warning: Spoilers
OK if you as the viewer live 24/7 in some sort of fantasy land.

Also to claim this film as some sort of ground breaking form of realistic acting is preposterous.

A seriously flawed storyline too, not even in the real local in which it is set would you find two supposedly clever 17 yr old kids, with such a childish sense of humour. I'd put their behavioural age at around 8.

On the whole 2 totally unbelievable characters who wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes in the real world.

I was waiting for some diagnosis of mental illness, or ADHD and bi-polar disorder at the very least. Total nutters the pair of them.

And as for the bar scene at the end, do large beefy Irish adults just stand around whilst a scrawny pathetic weakling of a child bashes some poor innocent (knocked out cold lying helpless on the floor,) with an iron bar for 5 minutes, 2 blows would have been enough to kill the average human. Overdone and very well overrated by the viewers, most of whom on this site must surely be under 25.

Excellent British film Makes a change from usual US tripe.

Quite a surprise, topical clever and compulsive viewing. This film did run true to life in many ways, the characters are easy to identify with. The housewife sexually unsatisfied by her husband who apparently arrives home from a very stressful job of work and immediately falls asleep. The impression being that this is a regular occurrence. I was a bit puzzled though by the facial damage on a person who had'nt been to the match. Much of this film required intelligent imagination as it did'nt waste its time filling in what they thought was unnecessary detail. I'm sure many of those involved in terrorist incidents in London over the past 30 odd years will identify with one character or another.

It's a pity it has'nt gained the popularity it deserves now being released to TV only a year after production. Some very good acting by the 2 lead parts.
