Erdogan's Life Story
This Turkish classic is some sort of a magical piece, as it had perfectly depicted Turkish President Erdogan's biography and political career even before he became a politician. I know, amazing! Right? Kinda the Turkish version of Back to the Future.
The funny thing is, even the leading actor (Kemal Sunal) marvellously resembles Erdogan. Unbelieveable.
Did you say coincidence? Don't think so. I rather prefer to believe that there is a supernatural side to this movie. It feels like someone wanted Erdogan's shameful legacy to be documented even before the poor guy did what he was eventually going to do. Just beautiful.
The movie is so similar to Turkey's incompetent and greedy dictator's life story that they don't even allow Turkish people to see it anymore. Not even on YouTube can you find a decent copy. You can tell how pissed off the dude is at this old film.
Apart from this hilarious note, the movie is an amazing work on its own. Very well written, shot and played. A flawless example of dark and political humour. Brits would love it had they had the opportunity to see it.
Shall you have the opportunity, consider giving it a try. It won't disappoint you. That I guarantee you.
