Psychotropic Segments
12 February 2015
I've been keeping up with this show since late 2012. I have loved just about every episode of the show. It is a psychedelic experience without the drugs. You will be amazed and you will be disturbed. Your mind will be blown.

The show is a collaboration of random shorts found on the internet and other various places mixed with trippy music videos and other off the wall stuff coupled with lots of "datamosh" transitions and a large variety of other crazy effects.

I would advise reviewing each episode for yourself before you show your kids any of them. There can be some very disturbing segments of the show.

I would recommend almost every episode of this show to anyone. The reason I say almost is because, in my opinion, the episode "Light" was a bit bland for my taste. But any other episode is definitely worth your time. You yourself may even enjoy the episode "Light"! Some may argue that you need to be high to get any enjoyment out of these shorts but I for one enjoy them just as much when I'm sober. Each episode is a thrill ride in itself and I tend to watch them over and over again. The transitions and animations never cease to amaze me.

Fast Five (2011)

Not a hint of realism...
29 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Now, this movie had its strengths... and its weaknesses... First off, great acting. All actors were superb. Good action scenes, nice action shots and cinematography. The script was a bit shabby.. But I need to vent about my main issue with this title... It doesn't have any realism in the movie at all. None.

First example: A car drives in front of a bus, they were going fairly fast but it should not have had THIS outcome.. The bus hits the back of car. The bus is then propelled 20-30 feet into the air, lands, and is ripped to shreds. No fatalities either, and somehow they snuck an inmate out from the scene of the crime without a soul knowing about it. The bus flying through the air from a minor collision like that is what really angered me.

Second example: An all-terrain vehicle speeds along next to a train. Not only does it stay with the train for a good 10 minutes in the exact same spot without any trouble adjusting to the trains speed, but it is clamped on with enough stability that a team of 2 can use plasma cutters to cut a wall large enough to smuggle a car out of. I liked the idea, but it wasn't put together properly. To make things worse, after a few cars are smuggled out, a final car, with about 2 feet of room to gain momentum with, had enough speed to make an enormous leap off of the train and land perfectly with smooth sailing the rest of the way. This is followed by two men in the car flying off of a cliff large enough to kill anybody landing in the water below. In the real world, limbs would have been lost. They land like it was nothing.

Third example (this takes the cake): An armored vehicle plows through the walls of a police station.. I'm okay with this. Two Chargers pull up, chain themselves to this 10 ton vault, and have enough traction and friction to pull the entire vault off of the wall and out of the building. In a real world situation, the cars would make no progress and spin out, or the chains would break... and they take off! Speeding through Rio with a 10 ton vault, wrecking down buildings, smashing cars, dodging people, and smashing everything else in sight. This really irritated me. It even went through a large concrete building, the chain being strong enough to tear the building apart. I have no clue how this is even plausible. The vault then flies around smashing everything in its path again, still being pulled by these two wimpy cars. Eventually, the police catch up. The drivers suddenly have the dexterity to move the vault and fling it to their will. They smash some more cop cars, cause more collateral damage, and then decide they are going to split up. One Charger takes the vault on its own, and another takes off in the opposite direction. This solo driver suddenly has even more dexterity, and flings the vault around some more, taking out cop cars left and right, killing people exactly how he "planned it". Like I said earlier, if you are pulling a vault the size of a building around in a solitary car, the tires would not have enough traction to continue, and the car wouldn't have enough horsepower to drag that monstrosity around.

It goes on and on, I wish I could actually watch this movie without those three examples. It would be great. I loved the rest of it. But, save all this junk for a sci-fi movie... I can stand small amounts of movies being non-realistic, there are exceptions.. But not taking realism into consideration at all is a bit of a downer. Apparently physics don't apply to anybody living in Rio De Janeiro.

Toy Story 3 (2010)
7/10
A tad bit overrated...
15 July 2010
I watched Toy Story 3 on the night it came out. I thought it was a really good movie. What I didn't expect is for it to take #6 in the Top 250 (as of 7-15-10). It really doesn't deserve that. I am also greatly disappointed that it even passed up Toy Story (1), it was not better than the first. The movie is just getting a hype from reviewers that quickly go towards that 10 star rating immediately because of the fact that it wasn't a bad movie.

On a lighter note, I thought it was a great movie. Great animation, dialogue, decent plot, it's just a decent movie overall. Shouldn't be in the Top 10 and absolutely shouldn't be in the Top 5.

I'm not bashing Pixar or the makers of Toy Story, I'm simply just mad that an average movie is taking out all the other movies on the Top 250 when they actually do deserve the position they had before.

Zucker is a genius.
27 March 2010
I was actually quite surprised by the average rating on this film. I didn't expect so many people to be this anal about the movie. I loved it. In Politics, I try to stay moderate, but this being looked at as an actual movie putting politics aside, I think it's great. Same style as Airplane, so I absolutely love it. Even looking at it on a political point of view, I think it gets its point across clear as crystal. I know most of the people who rated this were just enraged that it went against their opinion, but hey, it does give a pretty good summary of Michael Malone (Moore). I do think there were parts that kind of confused me, they felt a bit shallow, but also were still funny like the 1968 musical number. The lyrics of the song were genius, but I won't give any of them away here, you'll have to watch it on your own.

This movie is offensive to quite a large number of people. Why should we care that much? I mean, has anybody ever seen South Park? Any of the Scary Movie series? Family Guy? Why don't you put them in with this movie? It's a comedy, there's bound to be offensive material.

In conclusion, I would like to put this movie somewhere in between an 8 out of 10 and a 9 out of 10. I loved it, some of my liberal friends even love it and enjoyed the humor. But, I can understand whenever a movie that isn't extreme left comes out of Hollywood, it gets destroyed by critics. Ah well, it's a shame some people just don't have good taste in movies now a days.

An amazing twist to a Classic!
2 January 2010
Sherlock Holmes in my opinion is a must see. It does stay true to the guidelines the original Sherlock Holmes stories provided. There is a twist however, and Holmes is a lot grittier, and more physical than he would be in the originals. For some this is going far against what the story should have been like. For me however, I thought it was really a great twist, not a better Sherlock Holmes, but a different one.

The fight scenes (or "pre-fight scenes) were my favorite parts of the movie, how he would break down in his head what exactly he would be doing, and then perform the actions without error.

I don't want to give away too much, so I'll end the review with this: If you are a hardcore original Sherlock Holmes story fan, this may not be the movie for you. If not, I think anyone else would love this movie from start to finish.

The Spirit (2008)

Well... It was funny.
2 January 2010
I always love Frank Miller's style of the movies, and even though the plot, acting, and characters were all a bit average (or less than average), the visuals didn't cease to stun me. It definitely Miller's cheesiest work of all, with a horrid script, but I still loved the art of this movie.

This movie probably would win the most random modern movie of all time award. I wasn't quite sure where anything was to be going, especially with the changing of Octopus' outfits. I was going to note a few bits of the movie that I thought shouldn't have been in there, but I didn't want to risk it being a spoiler to readers.

Didn't quite understand what was going on for the majority of it actually, but it was a decent flick nonetheless. Not an amazing movie overall, not an amazing story, but amazing visuals and it was a unique artistic experience.
