MacGruber (2010)
Pathetic
Killed it after nearly thirty minutes of waiting for it not to suck.
The Big Bang Theory: The Space Probe Disintegration (2015)
Carol Ann Susi
As usual I enjoyed the episode and was glad to see the show return after such a long hiatus during the holiday season.
I was, however, rather disappointed in the fact that no mention was made in any way about the loss of Carol Ann Susi who played the voice of Howard's mother.
I assumed they'd work it into the show (understandably this episode may have been filmed prior to her passing) but still no mention even during the credits.
I can only hope that in a forthcoming episode that there will be made mention of this.
Edit: I'm glad to see they got around to honoring her memory and didn't replace her with another voice actor.
Moses (1995)
3 hours later and all I can say is, "Is that all?"
Yesh, I wanted more! Honestly, I was completely captivated by this film. After having read that part of scripture, I was overwhelming pleased with the attention to detail in remaining true to scriptural accuracy. Time and again I found myself saying out loud, "I remember reading that part!" or "They sure didn't bother to include that in the version with Charleton Heston." Which I DID like, by the way :).
There were several scenes that brought me to the brink of tears. It was truly an emotionally charged film with most excellent acting.
I had the pleasure of watching it in its entirety and uninterrupted on Trinity Broadcasting Network only taking a run to the restroom and a quick change of my laundry in under 5 minutes. HA!
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
Too short a film? Perhaps it's just me
I was hoping to see X2 but apparently it's already out of the theaters. Shows ya how often I get out.
I'm surprised that the theater wasn't jam-packed - I walked right in and hardly anyone was there at the 8 PM showing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this film with Nick Stahl (John Connor). He portrayed Connor as I believe he should have been, but won't give any spoilers as yesterday was the first showing. He definitely out-acted the pubescent Connor in T2. Just the lack of the squeaky cracking voice was reason enough to like him! LOL
I can't say that Kristanna Loken (T-X) really had the latitude to do much with this role what with it being an emotionally void machine, but then again Arnold's T-100(?) had a lot more personality, if you will. I don't think this is a 'spoiler' but I kept noticing how perfect Loken's T-X looked regardless of how often she met physical impacts - not a single hair was out of place! I know, it's because she was a machine meant to look that way. Actually, I found it commendable that the production crew made certain that particular detail was not overlooked. There's so much going on in this film that I'm sure many, including myself, will see it numerous times since I was so engrossed in it that it appeared to end too quickly. Who knows, perhaps on DVD the deleted scenes and/or Director's Cut will make for even more an enjoyable experience.
Well, enough of that. I can't think of anything else to comment about right now since the film only JUST opened and I don't want to ruin any part of it for anyone.
The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas (2000)
Entertaining Family Film
Although I missed this film on the silver screen, I did happen to see it on video and was thoroughly impressed.
The sets and props alone were well done and all characters were convincingly played in the Hanna-Barbera cartoon style.
Surprisingly enough, too many have rated and criticized this film as though it were in competition for the Oscar with heavy-hitter dramas, forgetting that, to put it quite redundantly, it's The Flintstones!
Honestly now, there's no need to go overboard with the Siskel & Ebert-esque scouring of this piece and just sit back and enjoy it. Whether or not children are present, I'd easily give it "two thumbs up."
