Annabelle (I) (2014)
6/10
Not As Scary As I'd Hope It To Be But It Had Its Moments
2 October 2014
I came to this movie very excited. After the promising a plot story and amount of horror being shown in The Conjuring that was just plain awesome, I expected Annabelle to have more or less the same amount of horror quality being shown

Getting straight to this movie, it had a really interesting concept on the origins of how the doll was possessed. Not what I had expected since I thought she was going to be something like Chucky from Child's Play. Instead the Annabelle is more like the gateway boundary between and our world and Hell itself

All the actors equally acted well for their part in my opinion but there wasn't one who stood out the most to me. I expected the Warren couple to make an appearance in this film but apart from a few references in the film, they never showed up. It could really have changed the outcome of the events it they had did arrived to help

The aspects of the film here in terms of camera works and editing of the film were well shot and put together to help make this into a good film but nothing unique and it just help flowed the movie to go forward. I expected some flashbacks in between the scenes and show us a little bit of maybe how certain things turned out to be the way they are. But for this film, the lighting and sound of the film was what made it really great. There will definitely be moments where you feel like you want cover your eyes or look away

My favorite scene which I'm sorry that I just have to tell (but you guys can already see it in the trailer) will have to be the transition change of the little Annabelle girl running up into the room that the character Mia was in and instantly turns into an adult monster like Annabelle after bursts through the door while still chasing after her. That shot in my opinion was done to perfection

Overall, not really as scared as I'd hope it to be but it lived up to the potential. However, this movie in my opinion definitely could not match up to The Conjuring. I'd give it a 6 out of 10

Epicly Awesome But Sorry Its Just 2nd To Cap 2 For Me
4 September 2014
The fourth entry for Marvel this year and this one surely didn't disappoint me. I am among the fans who never knew about the Guardians of The Galaxy until the movie's trailer came out but was really intrigued by it especially after finding out that Dave Bautista was going to be in the film

The story was nice creative and not all that straight forward save the universe kind of plot just the way I like it. It was all adrenalin rush from start to finish for me but done in a really good way and the balance between seriousness and humor was really well organized. The characters were all great to watch and despite their annoyance sometimes, I did kind of feel sorry for them after hearing about the background story especially Quall's and Drax's story. The effects were over the top excellent for me. Nothing much more I can say about that

Acting wise, Chris Pratt does a solid job as Star Lord. He had the looks, charm, leadership and the skills which he shows he perfectly in this movie. His costume in this movie might be one of my favorites yet

Zoe Zaldana as Gamora didn't impress me that much in the film but she did well for her role and her tragic background story on being the half daughter of Thanos kind of reminds me of MK's Kitana

Dave Bautista in a way was a surprise entrance here for me. His performance as Drax for me was one of the best in the film especially during the 2nd half of it. He definitely earned my respect for his role in this film and shame on the WWE fans who criticized him for leaving wrestling. Keep it up Bautisa

This maybe Bradley Cooper's finest voice performance yet as Rocket Raccoon. His character reminds me of Face, another character which he played in The A Team (minus the charming personality). He for me was the most annoying character in the movie

Groot however was a quite a shocking one for me. Don't get me wrong , his character is great but Vin Diesel going from a bad ass Dominic Torreto to a the tough but dumb personality like Groot felt kind of like not his original style but nevertheless, Groot looks so innocent in this movie and I felt bad for him getting bullied by Rocket most of the time

Ronan The Accuser is one of the most scariest villain designs I've seen in a while but his presence was really menacing and really evil but enjoyable to watch at the same time

I enjoyed watch Nebula more that Gamora in this film. Karen Gillan does an awesome job for the role. She has definitely made me become a fan of hers after this movie. I felt really sorry for her character though. Although the legitimate daughter of Thanos, being treated as 2nd to her half sister Gamora would even make me upset if I was her. I wished she had more screen time in this film but she was awesome in this role. Hope she'll sign up for another Marvel hero or at least become the next Mary Jane in The Amazing Spider Man 3

Overall, an enjoyable film. This is definitely Marvel's year on the big screen. However personally, I will only rank GOTG as my 2nd favorite Marvel movie of the year (The first goes to Cap 2 Winter Soldier). For all Marvel fans, you are definitely in for a treat and as for DC, LETS SEE YOU GUYS TOP UP THAT with your Man of Steel 2

Great Movie With A Nice Twist
20 July 2014
I got bored at home and decided to go and give this movie a shot. I didn't watch the first one on the big screen and only got it on DVD so in a way I had very little idea what the movie was about. However, after watching the film, it was quite good not one of my top 5 but definitely in the top 10

At first I was wondering if this was a reboot or a remake since I really expected the character Will (James Franco) to return if it were a sequel. Sadly, I was proved wrong and it was a sequel without Franco returning. I really liked his character and really wished he would end up meeting Caeser again sine the chemistry that they had were very touching

The movie was quite long but the story was well told, pretty unique and questions ones trust and faith that he puts in others. Jason Clarke plays his role verywell as Malcolm and he but I wasn't much into his character in the movie. Keri Russell in my opinion puts on a more convincing performance than Clarke and she really helped build up a lot of tension to the film. Gary Oldman was also good for his part as a politician type kind of guy trying to keep everyone together from panicking

The twist during the film was really the surprising moment from me but in a way, half way through the film, I could already see it coming. Another thing is that there was not much 3D effects to see in the film so I would recommend sticking to the regular 2D tickets. Overall, the movie was rather enjoyable and I hope they'll make more improvement on the sequel

Personally My Pick of The Month
7 July 2014
The moment I saw the names Eric Bana (Hulk 2003) and Edgar Ramirez (Wrath of The Titans), I knew that I just had to go and see this film. I've seen this film twice now and boy I enjoyed it very, very much. I've always liked movies involving evil and demonology since the plot, effects, action and suspense are always entertaining to watch

The story is like a combination of Se7en and Exorcist where cop is on a case to solve murder cases supernatural style. In a way, it was something a bit new to my eyes and I was glued to my seat within every minute of the film. The suspense, horror and jump scares were definitely there and that really made the film work. There is also a side story on the main character in the film which explains why he is the way he is and at times made me feel sorry for him

The effects within the film like the ritual ceremony scenes, blood etc in a way were pretty gory and intense to watch and will really make you feel a bit nauseate throughout the film but they were really well made

Eric Bana does a solid job as Ralph Sarchie. It's been a while since I've seen him on the big screen (last was in the Star Trek 2009 film). He puts on a very excellent performance in this film and I was and I really felt the pain that he brought to the character throughout the film. You can really tell that he's having a really hard time with his guilt, family crisis and suffering he goes through everyday as a cop in this movie. Edgar Ramirez plays Mendoza, a priest detective being sent to solve this mystery case. He also puts on a very convincing performance and shows that he's not the typical kind of priest that we hear and see everyday. He has his own demons of the past to deal with and it shows here in this film. Joel McHale as Butler, Sarchie's partner in the film plays a streetwise kind of cop and I really loved his knife fighting skills in the film. Verywell choreographed. Other than those 3 characters, the rest didn't have anything much to with the story a apart from playing as the victims and back up characters for this movie which in my opinion played out really well

Its personally my movie of the month and way better than Transformers 4. I would definitely get did movie once it's available for download. Overall, I really enjoyed this film and would place in my top 10 films of the year. However, I can't believe that this film is not making that much money that it deserves and how bad the critics are bashing it. I say for all you action horror fans out there, go and give this movie a try and judge it for yourselves. I don't think you'll be all that disappointed. I certainly enjoyed it

Apart From The Plot, Just The Same O Same O Michael Bay Style As Usual And Its Getting Old Really Fast
30 June 2014
Hhhmmmm…….. where to begin with this one? I watched it with my brother last week and I have a mix bag with this one. One things for sure, it is an improvement over the last 2 sequels which were pretty terrible and nearly went to a dead end in my opinion. This sequel did bring back some good moments. The plot this time around was more interesting and as its not all the usual Autobots v.s Decpticons cliché anymore. They really took it to a different direction this time with the story and that's what worked for me

Some of the robots being used in this movie were great to watch and I really liked the design of Stinger (evil version of Bumblebee). However, Galvatron turning into a semi truck just like Optimus Prime is not something that I expected. I still preferred it better if they had stick to his jet fighter transformation instead. However, apart from a few heroic and laughable moments from Prime and Bumblebee, there's not much wow factor from both the Autobots and the Decepticons

Once again this movie relies too much on special/visual effects, actions with tons of explosions, building being destroyed and slow motion captures as their main attraction (which were kind of horribly made). In other words, there nothing much new to see here. Another thing that I didn't like was the splitting up liquid like form before transforming from vehicle to robot style didn't look real to me at all but my biggest complain would to be the movie itself being 3 hours long. The plot became a bit stall as the story progresses and I just couldn't see the point of showing it that long

The actors however did a pretty good job for their respective roles. Mark Wahlberg was awesome as Cade Yaeger and I liked his character better than Sam Witwicky because unlike Sam, Cade is a single father to a teenage daughter so its understandable why he whines and gets overprotective most of the time. I really enjoyed Stanley Tucci's character too. At first you just feel like you want this guy dead so badly but as the story progress, you kind of feel sorry for him. Jack Reynor plays the cool boyfriend really well and I really liked the argument moments between him and Cade. Nicole Peltz was a disappointment because once again she's just basically there for the attraction of the movie and nothing much. She can't outmatch Megan Fox but she certainly does a better job than Rosie Huchington Whiteley

Well, I think that sums up my review without saying too much I hope. Overall, it was OK just that 3 hours with lots of pointless explosions and slow motions really got me kind of bored going into the first 1 ½ hours of the film. However, it was still a decent effort from Michael Bay and an improvement over the last 2 sequels which in my opinion was very disappointing but this is one movie which I think isn't worth seeing again in the theaters

Best Animation Feature of The Year
8 June 2014
Watched How To Train Your Dragon Yesterday and think might have found my favorite Animation film of the year already. I never watched the first one so I don't really have an idea what the story's about but I was really glued to my seat throughout the entire film

The movie was really good and I enjoyed it verymuch. I think that this Dreamworks best animation feature yet when compared to their Madagascar and Despicable Me. The main character Hiccup was a really cool character and I loved watching him in action and flying off his dragon Toothless. The other characters were fun to watch as well and I really couldn't believe

The story was really interesting to watch and I really like movies that touches on the mother and son relationship. I will not go spoiling into the movie but I really recommend you guys to check it out. You will not be disappointed

Schwarzenegger's Best Film Ever
3 June 2014
I am a huge die hard fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger and for me this no doubt 100% his best film ever (even better than The Terminator Franchise, sorry about that) . The very first time I watched this film was when I was 8 years old and I still can watch this film over and over again and not get bored with it

The story was interesting and not that all typical. I was really waiting for one of those soldiers (expect Arnold that is) to turn humanoid and turned out to be the one who attacked all those commandos but instead what I got was better. The predator with all of his mandible claws looks on his face, stealth kills and battle cries were really terrifying to watch and above all apart made the movie more scary (apart from the last 30 minutes of the film) was seeing him stalk him victims in while in his stealth mode and killing them one by one. The last fight with Schwarzenegger was one of the most best fights ever. Intelligence and guts beats technology at its best

This movie is definitely my favorite movie of all time and Schwarzenegger's best film of all time and a perfect score for me. There didn't seem to be anything wrong for me from start to finish. A very flawless script. Too bad the sequels went downhill after this one but Predators for me did redeemed back the series a bit

Great I Prefer Oblivion Better
3 June 2014
Watched Edge of Tomorrow with my friend recently it was an interesting film. I liked the sci-fi background of the story. It was very interesting and definitely not what I expected to be at all. Watching this movie in a way does remind me of another recent Sci-fi film that Tom Cruise acted, Oblivion

The cast was great. Tom demonstrates again why he's perfect for these kind of roles. He portrays his seriousness and funny side both together very well. Emily Blunt was great beside Cruise but her character didn't really interest me that much. I can't believe I saw Bill Paxton again. The last time I saw him was in 'Thunderbirds R Go'. He was great to watch and I really liked his sergeant bullying attitude. The rest of the cast did a good job and the movie really made me glued to my seat

However, there were some minor complains though. What I find a bit disturbing was the reset and start all over again button part(for those who do not understand what I'm talking about, you'll know when you watch the movie). Although it was an interesting concept, it got a bit annoying to me as the movie progressed. The story was not that interesting in my opinion but it did leave me intriguing to find out what would happen next in most parts but I did felt kind of bored during the movie as well

Overall, a decent film but maybe not one which I would watch again since I'm not a huge Sci-fy and Tom Cruise fan. However, die-hard fans of Sci- fy and Tom Cruise I think will like this movie a lot so go give a try. To sum it up, Edge of Tomorrow was good but Oblivion in my opinion was better

Great But Cap 2 Was Better
24 May 2014
The trailer really leaved me with high expectations about the movie but after watching it, it was OK but I wasn't really that satisfied with it as expected

Once again, this really felt more like a Wolverine movie than an X-Men movie because time and time again they focus too much of him and its getting really boring for me. Fine, many people say that X-Men is all about Wolverine and that maybe true but still, the other characters still deserve their fair share of screen time as well

Well, to get to the movie, its an interesting story. Preventing the war in the future from happening. In a way, it reminds me of Back To The Future movies. The actors did well for their respective roles. Hugh Jackman shows why he deserves to be in the role as Wolverine. He shows all the is to the character and it will be tough to a replacement for him once he decides to let go of the character. Nicholas Hoult does well as Beast. Michael Fassbender also demonstrates why he is the ruthless Magneto but for me, the best character of the film goes to James McAvoy's Charles Xavier. He played played the role really well and was definitely the savior of humanity. The other mutants from the future didn't really do much in the movie apart from appearing there from going up against the sentinals as expected. This movie for might have some issues for younger children especially situations when Mystique appears but other than that, nothing much to worry

Overall, a great movie and something to the superhero different to the superhero genre but in my opinion this movie can't topple Captain America The Winter Soldier for me

Godzilla (2014)

Excellent. Fans Will Love It
14 May 2014
Watched Godzilla 2014 last night and it was a great effort from director Gareth Edwards. I love how Godzilla was being portrayed here just like most of times in the comics. The design of the monsters were awesome and really made them look so terrifying

Cast Aaron Taylor Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen really had that chemistry as husband and wife but to me the only thing that didn't make their marriage look believable was that they looked kind of young to be husband and wife and have a toddler son some more. Glad to see Ken Watanabe back. He did well for his part as so did most of the other cast

Some of my complains however would to be that I think the fight scenes between Godzilla and the MUTOS were not long enough and focus were given more to the humans. Apart from that, I'm was really hoping they brought some of the other classic monsters back instead of creating original ones(MUTOS) for the movie like his 2 main adversaries King Ghidorah and Hedorah The Smog Monster

Overall the fights were still entertaining and Godzilla really looked grand and terrifying to watch. Fans of the series in my opinion will like this movie but casual moviegoers will have 1 or 2 questions on their mind

Great Horror Film
10 May 2014
Thai horror films nowadays aren't that scary as they use to be anymore. They rely more on jump scares rather than their graphically scary effects anymore. However, 'STILL 2' didn't let me down. After watching this movie, I have to say I enjoyed it verymuch. The movie's split into 4 different segments and all of them were interesting to watch. Too much metaphors here however and there were moments where they will make you think about. Graphically, this movie was great. I like all the make up effects in the film. The ghosts really made me cover my eyes a few times. As usual just like many of their films before, too many jump scares being shown here which is why I don't recommend this movie to anyone with a bad heart. Overall, I'd give this movie an 8 out of 10. A great treat for all of you Thai horror fans out there

Better Than The Avengers
27 March 2014
This movie exceeded my expectations in a lot of ways. The plot was very interesting. I never would have guessed that the story turned out the way it did and thought that it was nothing more than just a Captain America v.s Winter Soldier battle. It definitely will make you question yourself about certain things in life such as friendship, loyalty and patriotism.

The actors all were well cast too and got more screen time in this movie than they had in the Avengers which is a good thing. Chris Evans cements his his as title lead character Steve Rogers. He displays his tough brute strength and integrity here perfectly. Scarlet Johansson as Black Widow was great here in her own way but I just couldn't see her and Cap as a couple here. Samuel Jackson's Nick Fury was the surprise one here for me since I never expected him to do some serious action in the film. Anthony Mackie's Falcon and Cobie Smulder's Maria Hills was a little letdown for me here (again) since I expected them have a bigger impact role in the film but they still managed to do their parts perfectly. Its been a while since I've seen Robert Redford on screen and his Alexander Pierce's character was also great to watch. A surprising entry for me would have to Emily Van Camp's Sharon Carter/Agent 13 character. I never expected her to have an impact to the film and she never really looked like it at first either. However, I really would have preferred her and Rogers to have more screen time together instead but she still did a solid job but the biggest performance for me would have to be Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier. The guy was an absolute terrifying and menacing opponent for Captain Rogers and really gave him a hard time. The shield was like nothing to him and if the fight between him and Rogers went on a little longer, I have a feeling that Rogers would definitely lose the fight

Most of the their fight's choreography were neatly well done. Kudos to that and the part where he grabbed the shield with one hand after Cap threw it at him was personally one of my favorite moments in the movie. The sub-plot between them was really good and and heart warming to watch. I was relief by how it ended between them but it did leave me asking what would have it been like if things had ended differently

The combination of CGI and special effects techniques were verygood and the amount of action was just awesome and more entertaining to watch than The Avengers. There are also a lot of great lines in the film that and moments in the film and the friendship moments between Cap and Winter Soldier in was very heartwarming but also made me sad. You somehow want to feel sorry for Bucky since he doesn't know why he does the things that he does because its all about orders. This movie also had some of the best lines and some enjoyable but not too over the top humor in it. The OST was really patriotic, memorable and darkish to listen too but I liked it verymuch

All in all, congrats Marvel. This movie deserves my perfect score rating. It slightly surpasses The Avengers but definitely way better than Iron Man 3 for me. Can't wait for Captain America 3. Lets hope they will bring in Baron Zemo next

Non-Stop Breath Taking Action All The Way
28 February 2014
Watched this movie last night and boy was I blown away by it. Storywise, full of suspense moments just the way I like it. I find the plot of the movie for one was very creative and kind of new but in the end, after a few twists and turns, it ended up being predictable as usual with these hijacking terrorist films but it was still great to watch

Liam Neeson is really good at playing in these types of action role characters thats been given to him. He has that menacing aged but still dangerous looks on him. Julian Moore on the other was a bit of let down since she didn't get as much screen time as I'd hope but the chemistry she has with Neeson pays off really well just like in their previous movie together Chloe. They rest of the cast were well picked. The tension building throughout the movie was what made it great and breath taking right to the edge of your seats

To all Liam Neeson and action movie fans, this is a must see film for you guys. You will clearly not be disappointed

Awesome. Not To Be Compare With The Original
30 January 2014
Watched Robocop this afternoon and overall,I liked it. The story does seem more complex but better then the 80s version. Joel Kinnaman plays a better Alex Murphy compared to Peter Weller with his more badass attitude

The story itself for was what made the movie great. The way they told how Alex turned into Robocop in this movie was better than the original since they really made you the pain and suffering that Alex and his family were going through. I also liked how they brought back the classic theme into the film. Really missed it verymuch

However, some of my complains was the suit. Never really liked it compared to the classic light blue but I was glad that they changed it back at the last minute.I also expected a more fearsome opponent for Robocop in this film. Some one like Kane but the action scenes were still awesome to watch

Overall, an enjoyable film and can't wait for the crossover between Dredd andRobocop if those rumors are true

Reminds Me of Underworld But Just Couldn't That Series Out
30 January 2014
I recently watched 'I Frankenstein' and overall I was satisfied with it. The movie kind of reminds me of Underworld but instead having a war between vampires and werewolves, we have gargoyles v.s demons with a Frankenstein caught in the middle. I liked how mixed in the the Frankenstein myth into the film. Very creative in my opinion

The actors played their part well too. Aaron Eckhart played Frankenstein really well and it was kind of unique to see him playing normal looking kind of Frankenstein instead of the usual one that we've always seen in horror movies. The rest of the other cast played their part well but I was kind of bump out a bit on Jai Courtney's roles as Gideon in the film. I really hoped that he would play a bigger in the film. However, I think he's performance was the best in the film and he really has a bright future ahead of him. Can't wait to see him as Kyle Reese in Terminator 5

Overall, it was surprisingly good film in my opinion

I've Always Loved Spy Movies And This Was No Different
18 January 2014
Just watched Jack Ryan : Shadow Recruit with my brothers and I loved it. I've always enjoyed spy movies (minus James Bond) and this was no exception. Watching this movie kind of reminds me of The Cold Daylight played by Henry Cavill and Bruce Willis 2 years ago

Chris Pine plays a solid role as Jack Ryan and kind of unique from most spy roles in my opinion. He even made me feel like I was watching Captain Kirk in that movie when he was running all over the place. Kiera Knightly who last I was from the movie 'The Last Night' didn't played much apart from the damsel in distress role as usual and it great to see Kevin Costner back

One of the things that I liked about this film was the camera movement. Not too fast but felt just right which really helped add up the intense mood to the film. Also, I have read some of the negative comments on the movie who find it boring and not worth it but I think if you understand the plot of the story and give this movie a chance, you will enjoy it

Great But Not The Hercules I Was Expecting
8 January 2014
Watched The Legend of Hercules last night and overall in my opinion, a satisfying movie. The story was plain straight simple and the art design of the film was good

The 1 and maybe only complain I had with the film would have to be Hercules himself. Cullen Lutz portrays him well but he didn't really look like Hercules to me since he was not buff enough and too pretty boy looked for the character. Hercules in my opinion should have a bit of this brute looks within him. I think a man of lets say Brock Lesnar's size would have made a better Hercules

Another thing is that Hercules has the strength of the gods which makes him superhuman but in this film, I felt like I was watching Perseus more than Hercules since he didn't portray his godly strength up until the last minute and that was only of a minute of two. It would have been better if they showed him lifting up a pillar or throwing a huge rock at his enemies

Overall however apart from Hercule's character personality, everything else in the movie was OK for me

One Of My Favorite Disney Animations Since Wreck It Ralph
29 December 2013
Watched Frozen yesterday and loved it verymuch. There were some moments which I didn't enjoy but it was still a great film. Very typical Disney style that has worked well for them year after year

The story was really interesting as well. A sister who was afraid of not being able to control her powers and ends up turning the entire kingdom from Summer to the Winter season but other than that, it was all still very straightforward typical Disney style which is still good

Their theme song 'Let It Go' by Edina Menzel is definitely one of my favorite Disney songs up to date. Elsa on the otherhand is definitely one of the drop dead gorgeous princess that Disney has ever created so far. This definitely my favorite Disney animation movie since Wreck It Ralph

Children of all ages will definitely love it. Well done Disney and keep up the good work

Quite Unique For A Scott Adkins and Doulph Lundgren Team Up But I Liked It
2 December 2013
I have to admit this movie did came as a surprised to me. Every time when there's a movie that involves either Scott or Doulph (doesn't matter separately or together) straight away most if not all of us start thinking that this was going to be a straight up action fight kind of movie involving the these two since it felt like it was the only type of genre Scott and Doulph are always involved in. Boy did they prove me wrong in this movie

Although a B film, this movie is really great. I liked seeing actions actors get involved in something different for a change. It just shows how talented they can be. Scott Adkins really impressed me with his performance. I was really impressed to see him play a genius scientist role for a change compared to his usual tough brute strength character. Doulph Lundgren also played his normal usual style self which fitted really well for his hunting role in this film. The rest of cast did a good job and the plot was very simple and straight forward

The creature effects as usual were a bit of a let down but what did expect from a low budget film. My final thoughts. If you watch this with an open mind and cast away all the usual expectations, then this is a worth watching B film

Carrie (2013)

I Loved Every Second of It
8 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Watched one of the most anticipated classic horror favorite movie of mine 'Carrie' yesterday and my goodness, this film was really good. Its very faithful to the classic with around 70 to 80% of what was portrayed in the original being shown here. Once again this proves that movie remakes are worth watching when done in the right way. The story is simple, straight forward and nearly 100 % truth to the original material but still exciting

Chloe Grace Moretz plays the title role of Carrie perfectly much to my surprise. I thought she was great as Hitgirl but as Carrie, she was just plain awesome to watch. I felt really sorry for her and really loved it when she started going into a killing spree at the prom. Its like the feeling of they got what they deserve that I had in me. Julianne Moore as Carrie's mother Margaret was also great. This has got to be my favorite performance from her so far. The rest of the cast acted really well and the effects verygood

I really liked the shot where Carrie was walking on the road and those cars started blowing up beside her. It adds that evil intense moment to it. The movie itself for me wasn't really that scary but it was surely disturbing in most parts of it but that was what really made it great.

Overall this is definitely in my top 5 films of the year and one which I will surely go see again. My final rating, a solid 9 out of 10

Escape Plan (2013)

Refreshing and Excellent
15 October 2013
Came back from 'Escape Plan'and I liked it. Seeing 2 of the 80s action icons Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone together was great. The plot was really unique and something new for a change and the small twist between Arnold and Stallone at the ending was just hilarious for me

Once again Arnold really stole the show for me with some of his best liners and action 'n the movie. Stallone for me on the otherhand tried too hard but couldn't match Arnold's performance but both still managed to do a solid job. Hopefully, they'll team up again in the future but with Arnold as the main hero instead next time. The rest of the cast played their rolls well too especially Jim Carviezel and Faran Tahir

Overall, an enjoyable movie and definitely in my top 5 of the year

Pacific Rim (2013)

An Awesome Movie That Was Worth The Wait
12 July 2013
Awesome film. Definitely in my top 5 favorite movies of the year. The story as usual was very predictable but it was the awesome action and stunning visual graphics that really made this film work. Mr. Del Toro also does a great job in keeping this movie as family friendly

The Jaegers however were one of my main concerns. There were not many involved there and it too much was focused on the 'Gipsy Danger' Storywise although simple and straight forward, there might some things in the story that are kind of hard to understand but again this is the kind of movie where action is more important. However, I think people will quickly get bored with this movie after a while

The acting form Charlie Hunnam, Idris Alba, Rinko Kikiuchi as well as the rest of the cast was pretty solid and it was great to see Ron Perlman in another Del Toro film without his Hellboy costume this time.

My 1 and only complain would be there were no Pacific Rim merchandise like popcorn boxes or drinks since it would have been an awesome addition to my current collection. Oh well, can't have it all my way

Overall for Pacific Rim was an enjoyable ride and a must see film especially to all of you Mech fans out there

World War Z (2013)
9/10
2nd Favorite Movie of The Year So Far
21 June 2013
Came back from World War Z and in my opinion an awesome film. I never really liked Brad Pitt in the past but I really liked and respected the role that he played in here as a family father and former military officer on a quest to save mankind compared to most of the playboy macho like kind of roles that he's played in the past. Not much to say about the other characters since they didn't' really play a huge role in this film

I really liked the 'your enemy is your friend' concept that they used in the film which I would rather not spoil here. The plot of the movie was very interesting and there were some really cool moments in the film. There were also moments where I felt like I was watching a video game adaptation. World War Z is definitely the best zombie films right now (even better than the Resident Evil series)

This definitely listed down as my 2nd favorite film of the year so far (number 1 goes to Tom Cruise's Oblivion back in March). I would definitely see it again if I have the time

Better Than Twilight At Least
7 June 2013
Overall a good film. I liked it better than the Twilight saga at least. Both had some similarities but I think this movie just inches out twilight just a little.Watching this kind of reminds me of twilight only that I find movie slightly better. The love story between the 2 main characters were verygood in my opinion. However, the ending was a bit confusing for me and it kind of left an opening gap in my mind. The rest of the cast were good too and it was really great to see Jeremy Irons again. The last time I saw him was in Die Hard 3. Overall though, an interesting film. Its not a Oscar winning kind of film but it does have potential for more sequels in the future

Disappointing Start For Marvel
26 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Came back yesterday from Iron Man 3 and overall, I have to say another disappointment for so far

The biggest mistake for me was The Mandarin character. I mean the guy was suppose to be some badass dude going out to rule the world but in here, he was nothing more than just some whinny loser who doesn't even do anything than just talk most of the time and where the heck were his famous 10 rings. Tony Stark was OK but I would really have liked to see more time screening for Iron Man rather than Tony Stark. Guy Pearce in my opinion was way stronger than Stark and if it wasn't for all those iron man suits showing up to him in the final battle (which I thought was kind of cool by the way), he would definitely have lost against Pearce. Another disappointment was the Iron Patriot who in my opinion didn't get a lot of screen time

The story however was quiet good. Its trying to show how Tony Stark can deal the problems that he gets himself in without the Iron Man armor. However, it did rise a lot of questions as well like why was the setting of this movie around Christmas but shown during Summer. Just didn't seem to fit

Another thing that was shockingly disappointing was that if Tony Stark was really a genius, then why did it took him 3 movies (including The Avengers) to figure on removing the arc reactor on his chest? Still, the action scenes did make up for some of my complains but I was still kind of disappointed
