Thank God for Clint Eastwood
15 December 2019
"Richard Jewel" is another Clint Eastwood masterpiece. It is a factual portrayal of the Centennial Park bombing in Atlanta during the 1996 Olympics, that is timed just right for our political environment today. The movie never goes over the top. It shows that the FBI is made up of human beings and nothing more. They have opinions and make mistakes just like the rest of us....whether intentional or not.

Oscar predictions: "Richard Jewel" - Best Picture Paul Walter Hauser - Best Actor Kathy Bates - Best Actress Sam Rockwell - Best Supporting Actor Clint Eastwood - Best Director

Our country is a better place because of Clint Eastwood...he is a national treasure.

Long, boring, blah, blah film.
26 July 2019
First let me say, that I am a big fan of every actor in this film....and I usually like Tarantino films. But I cannot say many good things about "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". This film is really boring and very long, I almost walked out multiple times.

The acting was good, but Tarantino's style of jumping from scene to scene really got old in this film. And when is Tarantino going to leave the World War 2 era?

I am impressed that Brad Pitt was willing to accept his role in this film, he took 2nd billing under DiCaprio. So glad to see Timothy Olyphant again, he's always entertaining. And Margot Robbie is simply one of the sexiest females to ever appear in movies.

If you go see this movie, do yourself a favor and have LOW expectations, then maybe you will be pleased with it.

I seriously doubt that this movie will recoup its budget.

Tyler Perry Making Real Social/Cultural Statements
4 March 2019
Tyler Perry has become a billionaire making silly films that people love to watch, especially blacks. "A Madea Family Funeral" is exactly what you expect if you have seen the other Madea movies.

Love, drama, anger, it's all here. BUT, there is a very important undertone to Madea movies that I think gets overlooked....Tyler Perry is making a statement about real life....for both blacks & whites.

This movie has some very important statements if you take the time to look past the corniness. The differences between the old and young characters is stark, the overreaction of death with the 10-hour long funeral, Brian (Tyler Perry) getting pulled over by the crazy white cop and the perfect ending to the film. All of these were statements by Tyler Perry.

The theater was packed and I was just about the only white person in the theater, many people laughed loudly during the film....I don't remember laughing at all but I still enjoyed it. Especially the beautiful young black females that were in the film....just beautiful.

It's time for Madea to retire.....and I believe the last scene stated that perfectly.

Fun
4 January 2019
I found "Escape Room" to be a fun movie from start to end. The acting was superb, the plot was interesting.

It does feel a little like a mix of a couple of other films but that did not stop me from enjoying it.

The ending is a bit of a stretch and obviously a setup for a sequel, but it worked.

Go see it for fun!

Boring, overrated, long, nothing movie.
30 December 2018
How many people were paid to write great reviews of this BORING movie?

It is boring, long and cheap looking. The only scenes that I enjoyed were the close-ups of Amber Heard.

Enough said.

Democrat Propaganda
29 December 2018
If you are a Democrat you will love this movie. If you are a Republican you will hate it. It's that simple.

Hollywood is part of the Globalists Society. The more people there are in America, the bigger their audience is, the more profitable their movies will be.

Hollywood couldn't care less about the quality of life or safety of Americans, it's only about more money for them.

Thus their desire to destroy Republicans and President Trump. This movie is purely a propaganda tool.

The acting was acceptable but there were times when it wondered off in strange directions. It's just an average movie. I stayed through the whole film but several people walked out.

And yes, that is Tyler Perry as Colin Powell.

Another Will Farrell Disaster!
29 December 2018
BELIEVE EVERY HORRIBLE REVIEW OF THIS FILM, they are all true. "Holmes & Watson" is the worst movie of all time.

When are moviegoers going to realize that Will Farrell makes garbage films. He is the white equivalent of Tyler Perry (who makes horrible black films).

EVERYBODY WALKED OUT OF THE THEATER. I forced myself to sit through this puke of a film just to see how many people would still be watching it at the end....and NO ONE WAS LEFT, so I got up and walked out also.

IT IS HORRIBLE!

Amazing Movie
15 October 2018
Simply put, "Black '47" is an amazing movie. Hugo Weaving is one of the best actors in the world. He has a quality that brings credibility to every movie he is in.

I knew nothing about the plot of this film, it was a spur of the moment decision to see it. I am very glad that I did see it. The story was amazing, the acting was amazing.

"Black '47" is a valuable, amazing movie and everyone should see it.

Great job to everyone involved with the making of this movie!

Terrible Movie
15 October 2018
Don't believe the positive reviews of "First Man", it is a terrible movie. The plot is ridiculous, so over the top dramatic....yet the drama was only believable from Claire Foy.

Ryan Gosling is an awful, unbelievable actor, there are so many other actors that would have been a better choice for this movie.

The cinematography was horrible. I promise you that 70% - 80% of the entire movie is filmed with the camera about 12 inches from the subject, whether it is the actor's faces, props, the space capsule..EVERYTHING. And they shook the camera continuously throughout the entire movie....ridiculous.

I gave the movie 2-stars because of Claire Foy. She is an amazing actress, even though she is not much to look at.

And the ending of the movie was also ridiculous.

Sorry for such an honest review, but it needs to be said.

Wow!

"The Miracle Season" is a wonderful, loving, perfect film. I went to see it on a whim and I am SO glad that I did.

It is the most touching film I have ever seen. Go see it, you will fall in love with all of the people in this movie, I promise.

Be sure to stay for the credits, you will see the real family and learn more about their story.

Amazing story, amazing film.

Not one black person in the whole movie
8 April 2018
The Kennedy's were supposedly the hope of black people in the USA in the sixties and seventies, yet there is not a single black person in their privileged lives....according to this movie. I have always suspected this to be the case.

"Chappaquiddick" is an okay movie...the acting was well done, the direction was good. And it subtlety emphasizes the point that Ted mysteriously got out of the car even though the doors could not be opened underwater. How did he get out but Mary Jo didn't?

I was a little boy when this happened and remember the suspicions that he murdered Mary Jo because she wouldn't have sex with him and he ran the car off of the bridge without him being in it.

The movie shines a light on the Kennedy family as they really are....pathetic.

The most tears EVER at a movie!
25 March 2018
Young girls in the audience were crying uncontrollably during "Midnight Sun". I have never been to a movie before where there was this much crying, seriously.

"Midnight Sun" is a very good movie, I really enjoyed it. It is well worth the price of admission to see it.

Rob Riggle really shined, he showed true acting skills and was the perfect single dad. I really enjoyed him.

"Midnight Sun" is a huge tear jerker but it is still a wonderful love story and a must see!

Death Wish (2018)

Very Good Movie
2 March 2018
Bruce Willis seems a little out of place at the beginning of the film, but he comes through in the end. I agree with another reviewer that Sylvestor Stallone might have been a better choice though.

Vincent D'Onofrio and Elisabeth Shue are perfect for their roles and perform flawlessly.

The movie is a little slow at the beginning (maybe for too long) but the intensity picks up gradually and is great at the end of the film.

The plot is much better than I expected, the cinematography is excellent.

"Death Wish" is well worth seeing....GO SEE IT!

Funny, funny movie. Rachel McAdams is GREAT!
23 February 2018
I went to an advance screening of this movie and loved it. I go to the movies every week and it's rare to find a comedy that is actually funny throughout the entire film. Most of them seem to show all of the funny parts in the trailer.

Game Night is the exception. It is filled with nonstop laughs. The entire theater laughed throughout the movie. The actors are excellent, especially the always funny Jason Bateman. Rachel McAdams is hilarious. Great chemistry with all of the actors. Great plot.

If you are looking for a funny movie see Game Night.

Clint Eastwood is a Genius, Amazing Movie!
11 February 2018
Nobody but Clint Eastwood could have taken this terrorist event and turned it into a 90 minute movie. Mr. Eastwood brilliantly let the real life heroes star as themselves in the movie.

As I watched the movie I kept reminding myself that these guys are the real heroes. And that helped keep the excitement level up.

Mr. Eastwood knew the men are not real actors but being the American patriot that he is, he let the actual heroes star in the movie as a reward for their brave act.

He knows this decision will probably cost a few dollars at the boxoffice, but he felt it was the right thing to do.

Clint Eastwood is a great actor, a great director, an American patriot and a living legend.

Go see "The 15:17 to Paris" with patience, an open mind and love of America. These heroes made us all proud....and America needs all the pride we can get right now.

Amazing Movie...Unbelievable Acting....Brilliant!
9 February 2018
I saw "I, Tonya" last night because there was nothing else starting at the time. I am SO glad I did get to see it.

What an amazing performance by Margot Robbie and Allison Janney. I cannot say enough about their acting. It was definitely OSCAR worthy.

The plot, the cinematography, the script, the acting and the skating performances were all perfect....bordering on amazing.

Margot Robbie is the real deal....she has some serious acting skills...way to go!

And for the real Tonya....big hug from me!

This is an amazing movie.

Hostiles (2017)

Great movie, hard to watch...but I loved it.
26 January 2018
Hostiles is one of those movies that viewers will either love, hate, like or not care. But one thing that cannot be taken from it is that it's an awesome cinematic experience.

The plot may be flawed a little, the time frame may be flawed a little and the ending was a little flawed, but the movie is awesome.

Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike gave brilliant performances...actually the whole cast did. The acting was great. And Rosamund Pike added class every time the camera was on her...she is such a beautiful classy lady. I love her.

Be warned that from the very first 5 minutes until the very end there is violence. The violence was sometimes very difficult to watch but it added to the film in some way.

The movie has a great message...if only we would all listen to it the world would be a better place.

TheTruthDoor says: go see this film....without the kids.

Liam Neeson Rocks in This One!
15 January 2018
The Commuter is a rocking good time! Yes, it's a little over the top at the end...but it is still fun. Yes you have to NOT question parts of the logic (Liam Neeson working in an office selling life insurance...no way) but that is part of the fun of watching this film.

The plot was very good and had some surprises in it even though most of the situations have been seen before. The sound and cinematography were excellent.

Here I will sum up "The Commuter" for you: slow meaningful start, fun thrills in the middle, and a wild over the top ending. What fun!

Go see "The Commuter", I promise you will not get "Taken"!

TheTruthDoor never lies!

Boring, Not funny and Vulgar. The actors should be embarrassed.
2 January 2018
I agree with another poster that said "don't waste you money on this flop".

Father Figures is a vulgar film. It is sad that Hollywood is determines to make filth films when the films would have been much better and had a bigger audience if it was PG rated.

Honestly, the actors should be embarrassed for being in this film, and not just because the vulgarity of it. The plot was terrible. The inclusion of Terry Bradshaw was stupid.

Father Figures is suppose to be a comedy...I didn't hear anyone laugh. It is one of those movies that intentionally sets up situations that are suppose to be funny and then it delivers a predictable punch line. The audience already knows what is coming and it is not funny.

This is a hard "R" rated movie, definitely not for children.

Really, I'm not sure it is for adults either. It is just a bad movie.

Gary Oldman is AMAZING! Oscar can you hear me?
2 January 2018
Simply put, Gary Oldman is the best actor I have ever seen in "Darkest Hour". He IS Winston Churchill. Amazing performance, unbelievable performance, the best ever.

"Darkest Hour" is a wonderful film. It is a little slow getting going but you know when watching it that you have to keep your seat because it's going to finish with a bang.

I didn't expect much from this movie going in, but wow...it gave and gave and kept giving until the end.

This is a movie the whole family should see, it is classy, historical and film making at its best.

GO SEE "Darkest Hour"!

Downsizing (2017)
3/10
I Agree With Other Reviewers - Misleading Trailers
26 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I finally agree with other reviewers about a movie!

****SPOILER ALERT**** The trailers for "Downsizing" are totally misleading. As the other reviewers have stated, the actual downsizing is only in the first half of the movie. The last half is a bizarre Austrian "hippy" like experience.

Also, a very strange thing about the last half, the characters are floating through a river in the Austrian Alps on a boat and everything appears to be normal size. But in the first half of the movie they were supposedly downsized to 5 inches tall. That would mean their boat would be tiny and the slightest wave would flip it over....which never happened. And the mountains were in scale with the river and boat. What is going on here?

I WAS able to sit through the entire film, so it isn't as bad as some of the flops this year.

Go see it at your own risk. :)

Wonder (I) (2017)

Ehhh movie...but amazing child actors
17 November 2017
I saw "Wonder" last night, I like Owen Wilson and I wanted to catch the film early so that I could rave about it on IMDb.com, but I cannot do that.

The movie is just okay. I got the feeling that it was trying to make a significant social statement, I just wanted some fun entertainment instead. It seems like there are some movie directors in Hollywood that think they have something to "say" and they use their movies to get that message out....but it is just wasted energy, we don't care.

Now to the review: Owen Wilson and Julia Roberts are like peanut butter and gasoline....they are completely unbelievable as husband and wife, they don't mix well. Their acting skills kept the movie going but during the movie I kept thinking there is no way these two would ever hookup in real life.

And what would a new Hollywood movie be without a white chick and black guy hooking up? You guessed it, this movie does it's part at social engineering....liberal style.

This movie is not fun, it is a liberal fairy tale with a liberal message.

I gave the film a 4 because of the wonderful acting by ALL of the children. The kids in the film made it worth watching. Kudo's to the kids!

Wonderful, Lovely Film - Family Fun
24 September 2017
"Home Again" is a simple, fun, lovely film for the whole family. No fowl language, no guns, no nudity, no space creatures, it's just fun.

I found the plot to be believable and realistic. The acting was first rate...the whole cast did a fine job. First rate, all of them, especially the two young girls.

Reese Witherspoon is a class act, I just love her. Her movies always have a special quality about them and "Home Again" shows this quality from start to finish.

"Home Again" is the type of film that Hollywood was meant to create...but evil has taken over Hollywood.

Go see "Home Again", take the family and friends. It's a wonderful film.

Much Better Than I Expected
11 September 2017
This movie is actually much better than I expected it to be. The acting was very good, the editing was first rate, the plot was good. I honestly cannot think of a negative thing to say about it.

I hate Whoopi Goldberg but she played her role well, she reminded me of her part in "Ghost".

And what about Gina Gershon....she is so sexy, I honestly think she could be the modern day Raquel Welch. I loved every scene where she was in front of the camera. She is not only sexy as hell but she is a very good actress.

Charlie Sheen also did very well, he was believable and respectable.

9/11 is a good movie, unfortunately it has been a very long time since the real 9-11 so I am not sure the market is there for this film.

Wind River (2017)

Even Better the 2nd Time
3 September 2017
For me this has been a terrible Summer in the movie industry. I have walked out of more movies this Summer than any previous one. But "Wind River" has made the wait for a good movie worth the effort. It is far and away the BEST movie of the year.

I have never been a Jeremy Renner fan and honestly did not want to see this movie just because he is in it. But I am so glad that I did see it, he shows his acting skills in this movie, he is the real deal. The female actors were all beautiful and excellent. So believable...so beautiful.

And how nice it was to see Graham Greene again. What a great actor he is. He adds class and realism to every movie he is in.

I will be seeing "Wind River" again.....I cannot wait to see it again. Thank you Hollywood for this movie.

UPDATE: I went to see "Wind River" again last night and loved it even more than the first time I saw it.

I have to say this, I have never seen this before.....nobody got up from their seats at the end of the movie. We all stayed and watched the credits roll, we didn't want to leave.

What a great movie this is.
