Yes, yes, yes.

Warning: Spoilers
The trailer worked for me. I think many Americans are drawn to movies with a 9/11 twist. It was a huge, huge event in history. This film took the 9/11 tragedy and narrowed the focus onto young boy.

Oskar (Horn)is dealing with some insane grief after his father is killed on 9/11. He just wants to stay connected to the memory of his father. Much of the movie is focused on this little boy going on a journey and trying to heel his heart. Horn has some amazing acting chops. He carried the movie. Such strong emotions; the anger and pain and perseverance will connect with your heart.

Bullock and Hanks play a rather small, yet equally important role in the movie. We don't realize just how much of a struggle Oskar is going thru. This movie is about healing. And it does a remarkable job.

End Game (2006)
7/10
It had me right up until the end
26 January 2012
This movie had a crazy good trailer, crazy good cast, and I was very excited to see it. The plot was action packed and mysterious. Just the right ingredients for a great thriller.

Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Angie Harmon worked very well together. Great chemistry and clever quips between the two of them. The supporting cast was great and added a whole new layer to the plot. Being on the run from potential bad guys (everyone's a suspect), there are some tense moments.

And the bad guys? The bad guys were very scary and very effective. I tell ya, this movie had it all. I was keyed on the entire time. From beginning to end. And just when you think you know who did it --- exactly. The ending will leave you wanting more, believe me.

Larry Crowne (2011)
7/10
Not as bad as it has been made out to be
8 July 2011
Okay, so Larry Crowne is not award-winning, groundbreaking material; but it sure does not deserve to be torn to shreds in reviews. It's a story about a man starting over after being "downsized" from his job in retail. Why go into it with all these great expectations? The story line is simple and straightforward. Let's be honest. It does not need a whole lot to be deemed a success. I mean, hello, it has Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. They have amazing careers and a huge fan base. Overall, it is enjoyable. Tom Hanks is, as always, charming. He makes the audience genuinely care for Larry Crowne. Julia Roberts provided unexpected, yet welcome comical timing as Mercedes Tainot. As a big fan of hers, I will have to say that Larry Crowne is one of my favorite films starring her post-Erin Brockovich. I was not expecting to find this movie funny, yet I caught myself giggling at clever quips and such. Also, there is a number of supporting characters that are vital to the comical effect of the movie. Larry Crowne is about a man finding his way after being let go from his previous job. The audience gets to root for Larry and watch him succeed. It's a feel good, light-hearted movie with a touch of romance...just sit back and enjoy it.I was very pleasantly surprised after seeing all the reviews it got. I can't speak for everyone, but I would go see it again.

Switched at Birth (2011–2017)
10/10
Beautifully Acted and Written
25 June 2011
I rarely begin to follow a television show while it is in its first season for fear that it will be canceled. Yet this one drew me in and I cannot get enough of it. The idea of being switched at birth is so bizarre, and the dynamics of both families are so real. The raw emotion and feelings portrayed by these characters makes me feel sorry for and sometimes resent them all at the same time. The drama always keeps me eager to see what will happen on the next episode. The writers may have struck gold with this one.

Katie(Daphne)and Vanessa(Bay) play two very different girls that are connected by this event that happened to them so many years ago. Even though they have nothing in common, they have more in common than they realize. Constance(Regina)is stubborn yet likable and plays it beautifully, as do the two actors who play the other set of parents. Each character has a way of making you care about them, a way of making you root for them to make the right decision. Great job ABC Family, keep up the good work and I'll be coming back for more every Monday night.

Scream 4 (2011)
8/10
A good addition to a wonderful Scream series
30 April 2011
Assuming most are familiar with the previous Scream plots, I'll spare you the summary of each. Getting right to the point, Scream 4 will be discussed.

Being a huge fan of the previous Scream movies, I had extremely high expectations. I waited for a year for this film to be released. I was not disappointed. It was good to see Dewey, Gale, and Sidney together again on screen. Sidney has lost her surprise and fear as the killer strikes again. She is tough and fierce, but even that is not enough to scare off the Ghostface Killer. It was intense. In addition to the reunion of these well known characters, the writing is fabulous and the plot will take you by surprise on more than one occasion. I found myself tensely sitting in my seat, eyes glued to the screen. There were even moments where I had to cover my eyes. If you are a fan of the previous Screams I highly recommend watching this one. You will not be disappointed. The timing and camera angles are superb. If you look closely, there are parallels and references to previous Screams. And it is fun to make the connections. Highly recommended.

The Bounty Hunter (I) (2010)
4/10
Did I overestimate? You betchya.
1 January 2011
Being such a huge fan of the long-running TV series "Friends," I was eager to see Jennifer Aniston in The Bounty Hunter. Gerard Butler is easy on the eyes as well, and I do love enjoy that accent of his. I had very high hopes for this duo to command the screen.

Unfortunately, as is the case with a number of movies, the trailer shows all the best parts. The plot had potential, but it just missed the mark. Hence, I was pulled in by the trailer and so anxiously waited for the film to be released and then hurried to the theater to see it. It has a few of funny moments, but nothing that I would pay good money for to see again. This is one DVD that this movie lover will not be purchasing.

Date Night (2010)
10/10
Fantabulous Comic Team
29 December 2010
As a regular run-of-the-mill suburban couple who opt for one night on the town, Tina Fey and Steve Carrell star as Claire and Phil Foster in the film Date Night. When they go out for their weekly date, The Fosters' night soon turns into a fight for their lives thanks to a case of mistaken identity. How will they get out of this one? Well, rent the film to find out. If you're a fan of either star, you will not be disappointed. The duo are close to comic genius in Date Night. It's about time for a film starring comedians to not be completely vulgar or totally ridiculous. There is no need for the level of indecency that tends to be the angle that many comedians take. Fey and Carrell are able to master that ever elusive perfect blend of perverted innuendos, clever quips, and physical humor. Their chemistry and timing are great as well. While you read this, you may think that there is no way that it deserves all these compliments. However, I can only draw from my own experience. This film had me in hysterics, literally out of breath, on the theater floor.

Rizzoli & Isles (2010–2016)
10/10
Rizzoli and Isles, not your average cop show
20 September 2010
I have never been a big fan of "cop shows," however when I saw the promos for this show I decided I had to at least give it a chance. As a lady, I like to see women being strong and respected, and Rizzoli and Isles provides two women who are respected in their fields. Rizzoli (Harmon) is impressive and spot-on with her tough girl, take nothing' from no one, attitude. Isles (Alexander) is genius and sincere. The duo provides both a kick-butt team two best friends trying to live their lives. The characters are totally relatable, which is perhaps how I got pulled into being a fan. Harmon and Alexander make an amazing team and the chemistry and timing is there. I just couldn't see this show working with any other female leads. The supporting cast is excellent as well. I'm telling you, tune in. If you, like me, usually pass on these types of shows, give this one a chance. It just might surprise you. I'm pretty stoked about next season.

10/10
One of her best, great cast
20 September 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Julia Roberts is my favorite actress. I love her movies. This one is absolutely top 5. She is so young here, and her level of talent is far past her years at this point.

Sleeping With The Enemy is terrifying in the sense that you feel the fear that Laura(Roberts) feels. The acting is so incredibly convincing. Patrick Bergin gets an A+ for being incredibly spooky and making the audience despise him. In contrast, Kevin Anderson provides the epitome of what a man should be. He couldn't be more adorable. Julia Roberts steals the spotlight, as you will be rooting for her the entire time.

This movie is at times predictable, but also does a good job at building up suspicion. Nonetheless, it is a good movie that I would watch again and again.
