Constantine (2014–2015)

Great adaptation great show
5 August 2023
First of all, Matt Ryan is nothing short of perfect as John Constantine. I blame the CW for canceling this show too soon bc the mystery and supernatural he investigates makes it worth watching. It's like a mix of X-files and doctor strange. You can only see this show on dvd now but it's still worth watching if you love comic books. I admit I actually love the Keanu reeves movie but it's nice to see an accurate adaptation of a comic book being made as a tv show and it is nothing short of great. I can't say anything negative about this show bc it appeals to the comic book fan in me and creepyness.

Very violent and brutal but very good
7 June 2023
I don't know what others thought when they saw this movie when it first came out but I can't say anything bad bout this film. First, it's about a victim of gang rape left for dead getting revenge on her captors. It's not easy scene to see her being raped and left for dead but the film delivers when the rapists get their comeuppance. It is bloody, it is violent, it is gory, and when you finish the film, you almost wonder what happens to the girl in the end. I say watch this if you love revenge films but don't watch it with kids in the room. To sum it all up, the girl was well played, the story was actually good and it shows realism where you can almost see this happens in real life. I'm sure anyone who likes a good revenge feminist film, you'll definitely like this for the revenge kills alone.

Not perfect but it's fun to watch especially with Fraser
1 June 2023
I can see why people didn't like it but I can't say I don't. First the cast; Brendan Fraser as the title character playing his character as silly but good hearted and laughably stupid at times but good effort from Fraser. Sarah Jessica Parker is good playing a so-called intelligent damsel in distress and other times snobbish to Dudley and the great Alfred Molina playing Snidely whiplash in a actual good performance by the actor showing sometimes when you get a role, it doesn't mean you can't have fun with it. Molina shows he was having a ball in his role; going from his mustache and good timing with the jokes too. I don't know who was narrating the film but I liked how funny the narration was and the inconsistencies with the story when at times you wonder where it's going and then it goes in different directions. Yes it is a silly film, might not even be Citizen Kane level but I say it's fun, it's for kids, and it's another reason why Fraser and Molina are among the most talented actors working today. I recommend it bc if you want a good laugh and something to turn your brain off on then this film is right for you.

Bruno the Kid (1996–1997)
7/10
I say funny and original
17 May 2023
When I was a kid, I really enjoyed this and after watching it today in 2023, it's still good. In this show, Willis reminds us that not every actor has to pick up every role but create their own projects. I like the humor and I love the voices including Tony Jay as his partner. My biggest surprise is seeing Mark Hamill as Harris the Q of this series. Willis plays Bruno, a hacker kid being a spy and Jay playing his partner make an odd couple dynamic and it works bc as different as they are, they both show as spies their differences make them unique and funny to watch. Kids should watch this with laughs.

Very funny with alot of effort to be funny
16 May 2023
First of all this film is an example of how a spoof movie should be made; having alot of mixed in jokes, physical humor, goofiness, and wit. Leslie Nielsen does a good job putting serious on a comedy. No one gives him credit for how serious of an actor playing serious roles and comedy roles he is. I really enjoyed this film including actor Richard Crenna as the spoof version of Tommy Lee Jones from The Fugitive. I've watched this a bunch of times now and everytime I'm impressed with Richard Crenna with his timing, his ability to read a script and put his own spin, and hell as good as Nielsen is, it is Crenna that steals the show. Crenna has done a lot of dramatic roles in the past, his comic timing is just perfect.

Kat Dennings steals the show
15 April 2023
I was thinking I might hate it but for some reason as a guy I love this show. The humor in this I relate bc I've been through worse. Everyone who watches can relate to being broke and trying to exist and live as life goes on. I absolutely love Kat Dennings if I could, I would date her. But for most, Beth Behrs was good too. I can't say that all the actors were bad bc they were all likable characters. The other actress who stands out, Jennifer Coolidge, is just a marvel in this show. I grew up watching her on American Pie and she just stands out the best way possible in comedy. She is just comedy perfection in a supporting role. I'm straight and I love this show. I can't believe they cancelled this. I highly recommend this.

Phenomenal storytelling
6 March 2023
I watch this and I'm reminded how incredible Jeremy Renner is as an actor. He steals every scene with brutal realism and delivers with a man who makes deals and makes sure there's peace between the police and the criminals no matter how dangerous it gets for him. You can see he wishes his brother is alive so he wouldn't be dealing with the chaos around him but chaos finds him and he fights back like a mad dog. I'm instantly addicted bc having Dianne Wiest as his mother is brilliant showing she hates what her sons have done for themselves and what it brings to her. I say watch Renner and enjoy.

Fun movie i say
15 January 2023
Before anyone jumps at me with 'what? That movie was horrible how could you like it?' First Jeffrey Donovan, I actually loved him in this role, he's charismatic, flawed, high on his ego, and stubborn but yet Donovan is a perfect fit for this role. I do get why some people didn't like it but for some reason this movie didn't made me hate it. It's a good combination of comedy, special effects, and some good casting. I can't say I hate it, I just can't. It's a guilty pleasure I don't mind admitting I like. So for all the haters, it's a decent prequel for RIPD. Yeah, Donovan is no Jeff Bridges but he actually showed he embraced his role and had fun with it. Some actors would treat their roles like paychecks but I say Donovan worth watching.

Shocked the awards people didn't watch it, too good
25 December 2022
First of all, this miniseries was just amazing from start to finish. The cast was great, Matthew Goode really steals the show as Robert Evans and my god I'm surprised the golden globes never considered him for a nomination. It's very rare a miniseries comes along to take you back to history and see how one of the greatest movies ever made was made and the people behind the scenes. Every actor didn't miss a note on their characters and it was just amazing. Highly recommend you watch this and join in my anger to the awards people for not recognizing this miniseries this year. Also watch again.....

I can watch this 1000 times and still love it
19 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
First off, I always considered this all time favorite episode of the X-files bc of the writing and the late great Peter Boyle with his Emmy winning performance. He has us loving him and even feeling for the character bc it seems so natural and all together masterful. You think he would be making a hammy performance but nope not Boyle. It was sad in the end but what mostly got me was the writing bc it was funny and serious and like a well written poem of death in the end. I say watch this to see Peter Boyle if you loved him in Everybody Loves Raymond and trust you won't be disappointed either way.

I actually like this more than others do
5 August 2022
Before anyone starts condemning me for liking a b-movie. I am fully aware the story is corny, the special effects are horrid, and the director has a direction but I'm sure he knew it be another sci-fi channel b-movie that be forgotten easily. But we can't forget the all powerful b-movie extraordinaire, Bruce Campbell. As much as I want to devalue this movie, Campbell proved that he's a professional b-movie actor and he's great at his craft. I actually enjoyed this movie despite how bad it is. It's a guilty pleasure and I have no problem enjoying how bad it is but I always loved Bruce Campbell so after watching this again after so many years, it made me value Campbell more. So if you want to turn your brain off and have fun watching a b-movie, try this movie and I hope you won't take it seriously but get some laughs too.

Before Criminal Minds, there was this show
20 May 2022
Watching this show is such a treat for me. I have watched this show repeatedly a bunch of times and still get blown away by the writing, the direction, and even the acting was top notched. I love how real the characters are compared to actual people, I love how authentic the stories are and how good and memorable Lance Henriksen is in this series. Henriksen takes this role and amped up his acting to reflect a man who has seen evil at its core, is traumatized by it and shows a broken man seeing the monsters no one sees and figures out who they are. Henriksen if you read this I wished you earned your Golden Globe but it was a tragedy to see a man not get rewarded for his good work. So far by record, Henriksen is the only actor to earn a Golden Globe Nomination for playing a criminal profiler on TV and it is something to this day has never been nominated again by another actor and it is 2022. Please bring this show back Chris Carter and see if you can get Henriksen to come back too. If you have not got hooked to this show from episode 1 than I suggest you find it and watch it. Trust me if you liked Criminal Minds or Hannibal tv series you love this show.

Surprising, weird, and philosophical
25 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched the first two seasons and so far I'm blown away by the story and characters. The main characters are a male wolf and a female rabbit.

Two types of loners in a weird world of animals. I admit the one thing that threw me off was seeing the rabbit being sexually promiscuous. When I kept watching, I understand her better but it's like the writers wanted the audience mostly to jerk off with her especially selling off on the sexy bunny fetish. If you're into the bunny fetish thing, I'm not judging but just watch this show not just for that reason. Weird part is this show got me thinking what makes the girl bunny being wanted by these guys. Then I just figured it out, have you ever pet a rabbit? It's so soft and smooth. Then I'm thinking 'dude you're thinking of how a rabbit is popular sexually.' I laughed after thinking that. On point the wolf and bunny love story surprised me especially when they first met with one of them attempting to kill the other. On point with the story, I love how the theme in this show is about searching for an identity, knowing your true self and making sense of the reality they live while trying to do what's right to them. I love the first two episodes with how they met and how a first encounter can be an unexpected love at first sight. Yeah I know it's cheesy but I love how honest it makes the characters and how even though they're animals they are human too with flaws and all. Now on the animation it is just amazing to see the details like the animals or how the food looks. Hell I looked at a roll and thought that looks good. I also have to comment on the music bc it makes me want to some of those songs over and over. I'm still surprised on the stop motion intro and I just love it; It's funny and very entertaining. It's like watching Fantastic Mr. Fox in a course of two minutes. I admit one thing I was looking forward to and as strange as it sounds, for the wolf and the rabbit to make love. It got me thinking of an episode of Yu Yu Hakusho where the title character's demon dad fell in love with a human girl and how awkward it was for them making love. But hey on the series itself, I always love an unexpected love story between two completely different people or species and this series made it honest, awkward, and surprisingly addictive. I give this 4 stars and if there's third season on the way im looking forward to it.

A child prodigy unlike any I have seen. I love how funny, how innocent, how wise, and how witty he is. This is very sharp writing and makes me wish I was there for that kid. I love how the neighbors take care of the kid and be there. They are weird and realistic characters and I just love them. This is a show worth watching and I'm enjoying every second.

Honestly love this show
18 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Now I know this show came while the other Sherlock Holmes show, 'Sherlock' starring Benedict Cumberbatch was around, but I still enjoy this show. Johnny Lee Miller was exceptional and phenomenal as Holmes and Lucy Liu was great too and damn seeing their interactions, their banter, and seeing them work cases together was just a joy to watch. I say if anyone didn't like the changes made with the show like making Watson female or spoiler alert making Irene Adler aka Moriarty female should take another look and give this a go. I know a lot of classic Holmes fans may not like this but I enjoy this very much. I love the show creators' making Moriarty a female makes her a worse villain bc she's Holmes' ultimate match, equal, and polar opposite. This re-interpretation makes the mysteries more interesting and even characters more watchable. I say watch this show for the mysteries alone and you'll enjoy it.

One of the best Stephen king miniseries ever
16 April 2022
By far the creepiest and haunting minseries I've seen. I love Nancy Travis in this, she really made a realistic performance of the psych professor being pushed into breaking point due to her other faculty members doubting her beliefs and her obsession of seeking the truth. The house, the realistic characters, the direction, the writing, and even the special effects made this miniseries worth watching. I have to say this is a hundred times better than The Haunting (1998). The cast really put 100% effort on their parts no matter how likeable or unlikable they are. That's the one thing you don't see in some Stephen king adaptations, characters that look like people you meet in real life. I know it sounds generic but that's what I felt from watching this miniseries. Either way I say watch this and take it that this was filmed at an actual haunted house.

Thumps up for this show
7 April 2022
Wow. This is such a good show I love it as a cop show and comic book show. Ben McKenzie and Donal Logue really steal the show as Jim gordon and Harvey Bullock. I love the chemistry they share and personally I love bullock bc of his grit, his demeanor, and even show some personal empathy and passion after Gordon shows up and helps him redeems himself. I also love the chemistry of David Merwitz and Sean Pertwee as young Bruce Wayne and Alfred. I personally loved Pertwee as Alfred bc of his warmth, fatherly love, and dedication to the boy. I admit he had some great moments showing love and affection to the boy and I had my share of shedding tears bc he was so good in his role. I was also impressed with the cast playing the villains especially the ones playing The Riddler, Catwoman, The Penguin and yes I won't forget the Jerome character. Cameron Monaghan completely killed it as the so called Joker type character, he's funny, he's charming, he's ruthless, he's crazy and damn I love his performance. I know a lot of people agree with Cameron Monaghan being great as Jerome but let's not forget this show is well directed and well made. I say give this show a good watch as a comic book show and as a cop show.

It's Red Dragon meets I Am Sam
19 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
They say the devil comes in many forms but who would see a mentally disabled man being the unsub. You see this man being mentally disabled and you feel bad he's doing those horrible things but then you find out how twisted and demented he is. The worst part is that he purposefully hurt his niece to hurt his brother too after all the man did for him. You got to admire the effort the actor put into playing the unsub. It's scary that the most evil of persons can be the most unexpected one. I like to say this guy is like Ted Bundy using his mental disability to hide his twisted desires instead of a broken arm. Great episode either way.

A legacy of lies and pride
14 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What would make a rich man go to such lengths to try to save his son from Alzheimer's disease but never told him he had it? If I were the son, I be more betrayed than heartbroken, more angry than hurt and more used than helped. I know if I have kids and I found out first they show symptoms or been diagnosed I tell them. But damn what an episode to find out your father kept a secret, betrayed you and even exploited you for his own selfish intentions. This was a good episode either way and seeing the detectives reveal the man's diagnosis and the lies his father told him was just heartbreakingly real bc they feel bad for the man and had to be professional too.

I swear reality shows are a stepping stone to people getting more and more stupid. Just cancel this show for our kids' sake. Who the hell actually put themselves in this situation and why the hell do we need to remind ourselves that we can be that desperate for money.

11 March 2022
I always loved this episode bc it showed real-life married couple Michael Emerson and Carrie Fisher being good together on screen and boy oh boy I love what I see. Nothing better than real love reflected in this episode. It is nice to see there's hope for us all seeing a shy genius find love from a shy artist. I really hope I find a love like that someday. Other than that I really wish more and more happy memories for the couple.

The price of arrogance and the price of devotion
11 March 2022
I swear I don't know who's the worst character the lawyer killing his mistresses or the wife so devoted she's willing to lie to herself just to stay married to him. This is one of those episodes that really hits hard at all fronts bc Goren and Eames investigates and had to confront both the lawyer and his wife. Griffin Dunne really does well as the lawyer and even the woman who plays the wife was equally good.

I understand some people have their issues with this show but McKinnon and her energy she put in the Ms. Frizzle character is really good. I have always loved the magic school bus as a kid and as an adult I admit that I actually like this show as well. I say the kids have a good treat to watch if the adults don't mind McKinnon.

One of my favorite episodes
3 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
One thing I always loved bout Batman the animated series it is how human they make the villains and this takes the cake. One thing I always loved about this episode is the price of arrogance where the terrible trio are 3 spoiled rich boys who commit crimes for thrills. Im very sure anyone who lives in Los Angeles or work in rich neighborhoods have met their share spoiled rich people and hate their smug attitudes toward the middle class but in the end these guys got their just desserts. I even love seeing the end of the episode where even their money won't get them away from justice. I even love the prison cell scene where one of them is put in a cell with another con who is scarier than him and he's got nowhere to go.

Not a bad show
28 February 2022
I admit I love Luke Wilson in this show. As kind of a mentor myself, I like how he plays his character honest and giving. The rest of the cast actually does a good job and not make the show a cliche to watch either. I say if you're a comic book nerd like me, you'll enjoy it. I'm 36 and I'm happy to see comic book shows being less a kids show and more in between for adults and kids. So watch it for Luke Wilson and the show is a success I say.
