The Walking Dead: Arrow on the Doorpost (2013)
A solid episode.
I disagree heavily with the negative reviews about this episode, I thought it was an interesting insight into the relationships that could have formed the characters from both Woodbury and the Prison. Both parties exhibiting striking similarities.
Whilst many of these reviews have banged on about the 'impending war' that has been formulating since the mid-season break, this is an episode that levels the field, and makes you feel some strings of attachment to both parties.
The ending montage acted out to the song 'Warm Shadows' by Fink is one of my favourite scenes to date, not only on TWD but across all shows. The directors attention to creating parallels between Rick and The Governor is fantastic, not only in the motions they take but also their general demeanour and choice of actions.
I assure all of you negative reviewers that come the end of this season you will be begging for more TWD, so don't wish it away.
A solid episode.
The Avengers (2012)
All My Childhood Memories In Glorious 3D...
I rarely review any movie titles, purely because I watch so many films it would be impossible to review them all. Avengers Assemble however was a special case.
I not only rate this as the best comic book movie ever crafted, but also as one of the best films ever made. It had heart, comedy, action, animation, character development, suspense; all neatly encompassed in a smooth and flawlessly flowing Joss Whedon storyline.
Each character has his/her moment of glory and not one of the actors/actresses feel short of the high expectations placed upon their shoulders. Chris Evans as Captain America is and always will be my favourite character in this Marvel film series and he shined brighter than ever in his second role reprisal.
I cannot more highly insist you see this film whilst it is IN THE CINEMAS! In 3D if you possibly can as it adds depth and en-chances the CGI (especially on the tanked body of The Hulk and the none CGI behind of Miss. Scarlett).
The Avengers Assembled in perfect form, lets bring on the next one!
Battle: Los Angeles (2011)
What are you haters on about?
This is the very first review I have ever written on IMDb, having been a member for some time now and having seen hundreds of movies.
I can genuinely say that I'm confused as to where all this negative criticism is coming from. It had action, emotion, patriotism, brotherhood and aliens.
I was enthralled from start until finish and believe that you should watch this film and decide for yourself.
Aaron Eckhart played a brilliant part, as ever, making his character seem more bad-ass and likable throughout the whole film.
It might not be to everyone's taste and if you are expecting Shawshank Redemption-esque story lines and Saving Private Ryan action then this might not be for you. It was reminiscent of Black Hawk Down, with shaky (and may I add realistic filming, which made you feel more involved in the firefights) and the ever loved Independence Day.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this film, so much so, that I was compelled to write my first review, of all time, in order to clarify that this is a quality sci-fi action movie.
