Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
You have got to be kidding me!
Being a major Horror movie geek, naturally I was a big fan of the first two Halloween movies. Even the third could have my appreciations. Buth after that, it made me real sad.
The first minutes of this movie got my expectations up. But unfortunately these are the only nice minutes of this movie. The branche has become nothing more than a teenage scary movie. Even the acting had relegated itself to second hand actors and rappers. Shameful in my opinion.
Let's hope this will be the last movie in the Halloween branche. The only 'new' Halloween movie that might be interesting would be a prequel about the youth of Michael and his sister! Pity
Empire (2002)
A Very decent dealer movie
Watching 'Empire' was a pleasant surprise. Not knowing what to expect it put on this movie and I never thought about the stop button again.
As a lover of narrator movies (yeah I know, some also really suck) I can add a new good movie to that list. The short action scenes are good and the situations are believable. Peter Sarsgaard plays really well and so does John Leguizamo. The women (Denise Richards and Delilah Cotto) will never be my favorite actresses but they are not bad either.
The only real bad thing about this film is that they try to put too much character development in too little time. To make that aspect really work the movie was to paceful and too short.
But overall: a good movie!
Freddy vs. Jason (2003)
Not Bad, Not Bad At All !!!
With expectations very low, after several disappointments in both branches, I watched this movie. But I have to admit, Ronnie Yu did a real good job! Of course the acting is not great, but not real bad as well and it is not the acting that makes these kind of movies watchable!! From start on the killing gets on and some are quite gore, which I really like. The number of killings is real high, maybe somewhat too high, but hey better this than no killing at all in the first hour like the new trend in Horror movies is.
I also liked the end of this film. The end fight is long and gore and splatting as well! Just as it has to be in this movie.
So overall: Not Bad, Not Bad At All !!!
The Green Mile (1999)
It's probably me, but I did not like this movie
Even though everybody I know think that this movie is one of the best ever made I disagree with them. Wile watching this movie I sat in a chair for 3 hours waiting for it to really start but...........it didn't.
In my opinion this movie is a very boring 3 hour sit and I don't understand all the people who are saying that this movie is great!
