Excellent

I love Virginia Madsen. I think I may have seen all of her work and loved it all. But Amanda Crew is the star of this movie. I never heard of her before but I won't forget her. She was awesome, absolutely adorable! The writing for her character was outstanding, although the story was not that good, lacking in many respects.

Excellent film!

This is a great film, not focused on special effects or keeping the audience guessing or in suspense. It focuses on real human emotion exhibited by some extraordinary acting! I like that there is no evil character. I love Kate Winslet, she is one of greatest actors of all time, and here she shines once again. Her character is so real and relatable and good hearted. I am unfamiliar with the lead actor but he too was outstanding! The writing is suberb! I would probably do the ending slightly differently. You may think it's a familiar story but it is actually very different. Highly recommend!

No Joy

Another pathetic effort out of Hollywood that proves they are only interested in money, not art or anything else. David Russel proves that he is one of the worst directors or writers ever! How does such an incompetent idiot like this get financial backing?! Hollywood must be full of stupid people! Here they took what is already a fairly boring story and made it much worse with the crappy writing of David Russel and even worse direction. The fact that Jennifer Lawrence accepted this role in this bad script shows that she is not a genuine actor and is just in it for the money and fame. Don't waste 2 hours of life watching this garbage! I wish I hadn't. I blame the buttheads in Hollywood that hyped this trash so much. The producers of this film are obviously money grubbing assholes! Here's hoping that karma comes around to them!

Yawn......

I wanted to see this film because I really like Dakota Fanning movies and Richard Gere movies. I think most people do. But don't let that lure you in. This is absolute garbage. I can't believe someone actually published this! I can't believe Dakota Fanning and Richard Gere agreed to do this. They must have been paid a lot of money because I don't think anyone would like this writing, it is the worst ever! Dakota is not actually in the film much. The direction is also very bad. It is a pretty lame and boring story but it could have been told much better. I'm sure the producers didn't know how terrible it was going to turn out and we're obligated to publish to recover investment. This is an embarrassment on the careers of Dakota and Richard. Don't waste your time on this one! I wish I hadn't lost that hour and half!

Great film!
19 June 2016
I just watched this movie again, as I do periodically, and each time I am still amazed by the brilliant screen play of Bruce Joel Rubin and the phenomenal performances by Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams! In fact, the casting, production, and performances by all of the actors are extraordinary! If you haven't seen this yet, you must. Although the idea of time traveling may seem ridiculous to some, the story told here and the way it is told is timeless! I dared to dream, I cried, I was touched in the depths of my soul on so many levels. I never tire of watching this one. I would not have believed that a subject such as this could be explored in such a beautiful way. Kudos to all those involved!

An absolute master piece in every way!

I loved this film! The casting and performances were extraordinary! The writing is some of the best I've ever witnessed! Truly every aspect of this movie is exceptional! I didn't have high expectations when I first came across it but it really impressed me. I think that older people facing tough decisions near the end of life easily relate to these story lines, but I also believe that younger audiences learn a great deal and gain insight into complex and emotional situations. These stories are told so beautifully! Everyone involved in the making of this movie should be proud and congratulated! This movie will surely stand the test of time. I have watched it several times over the past few years and each time I learn something new.

Very disappointing
25 March 2016
I love the Bond movies and I realize that it must be difficult to supercede the previous films, but this may be the worst Bond film yet. Perhaps it is because they feel pressured to "out do" the previous film and they can't come up with good ideas. But I think the writing is very bad on this one. Daniel Craig is brilliant as Bond but here I think the writing has him stepping out of character in a few places, making Bond appear stupid and incompetent. Even the special effects were a bit lame. This must have been a low budget production. There is no real closure or viewer satisfaction provided. The producers, and especially the writers, should be ashamed of what they have done to the legacy of James Bond!

Absolutely Amazing!
27 February 2016
This is, without a doubt, one of the best films I've ever seen! You will especially love it if you're an engineer or scientist. It's like a combination of "Castaway", "Gravity", and "Mission to Mars". The screen play, direction, acting, and science is absolutely brilliant! I think this film may have been under rated by many (the ignorant masses) due to the technical nature, perhaps. I have long been a Matt Damon fan and I think this is one of his best. The performances of Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, and all of the cast are outstanding! This is definitely going into my collection. I believe this film will stand the test of time. There are many layers to the film that I think many people did not get but may get in time to come. Bravo to everyone involved in the making of this film!

Six amazingly told stories!
17 February 2016
You will especially love this movie if you have ADD. The producers or director or some idiot in charge chose to present six fabulous stories in the most annoying way possible, bouncing between stories every 15 seconds or so!? What the hell were they thinking? At the very least, they could have chosen a longer interval. It's almost as bad as the 360 degree camera rotation, abused by many movie makers. Each of the individual stories rates 10 stars! The cast is chock full of mega stars, like Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, and many more. The performances by all of them are absolutely brilliant! Some of the best I've ever seen. I wish I could get these in the standard format of one at a time. It is for this reason that I won't be adding this to my collection.

Total waste of time!
4 February 2016
In some of the worst writing and directing I've ever seen, an hour and a half is spent telling a five minute story! Make no mistake, there is no love triangle exhibited here, no love making at all and no affair. The summary of the story given is a lie. I am big Dakota Fanning fan, which is why I chose this movie but I couldn't be more disappointed. It was very difficult not to stop watching mid way through. Emma Thompson is an actor of legendary caliber, but this screenplay is attributed to her and it is absolutely terrible! Everyone involved in the making of this film should be ashamed! I tried very hard to find some redeeming value in this film, but there is none.

Instant classic, Love it!

Angelina shows once more that she is an extra ordinary action film actor! This is one of the best action films of all time and will certainly stand the test of time! Everyone involved with this film should be very proud. Every aspect of the film is exceptional, writing, casting, directing, acting, effects. The only disappointment is that there is no sequel. There is a great deal of potential for multiple sequels. All of Angelina's action films are great but I think this is the best. The story is very well written and not too over the top to be believable. It truly amazed me how Angelina and all of the cast make you believe and feel the excitement of this incredible adventure.

Master piece!
6 December 2015
After having seen the first installment, "The best exotic marigold hotel", I had to see this one! Both films are very masterfully written, acted, directed, and produced! I'm not generally a fan of films that take place in foreign countries like India, although I like to keep an open mind. But the first film was so well done, especially the acting and writing, that I was hooked early on. There are many profound and deep subjects addressed and it inspires thought long after the film ends. This second film was every bit as good, if not better. I must applaud and thank everyone involved in the making of both films! I am definitely adding these to my collection and will recommend them highly! Every time I watch these movies I learn something new and appreciate them even more.

Worst super hero movie ever
21 August 2014
The first Amazing Spider-Man movie was pretty good, even though the casting wasn't that good. This one is some of the worst writing ever. The characters are completely unbelievable. No one behaves the way they do. While the actors, themselves, are not that good (especially Emma Stone), and they definitely don't compare well with Tobey McGuire and Kirsten Dunst, the writing is just absolutely ridiculous (especially the dialogs) and part of the problem may be the directing. The goblin makes a very brief appearance and the back story on Harry Osborn was deficient. The special effects demonstrated some great technology but its use was very lame. I could not have been more disappointed in this film. A complete waste of time and money.

Lincoln (2012)

A tired story told in a predictable way
24 December 2013
This story has been beaten to death in schools, over and over, year after year. And after all the hype and awards that Hollywood gave itself for this, it definitely falls short. The acting was unimpressive at best, I mean anyone can portray these characters. Characters that are not interesting at all anymore and certainly not entertaining. Actually the portrayal of Lincoln was probably the worst of all. He was made to appear unassertive, quiet, and quite stupid at times. This was Sally Field's worst role ever. But that's probably due to the tired, wore out material. Nothing new was introduced in this telling and I doubt that any of the character portrayals were close to accurate. This movie was made so that Hollywood could give it self more undeserved awards. And to steal money from the pockets of hard working people. Hollywood has truly run out of ideas, and almost out of talent.

Hollywood screws it up again!
30 October 2012
Very disappointing! A great idea and a few good sequences but some very bad writing! Hollywood doesn't seem to have any good writers any more. I think they don't really care about quality or art, they just want to get your money. They even tend to rate films based on attendance while you don't really know if you like it until you've seen it, it's all about deception and greed! Charlize Theron is a phenomenal actor and proves it once again. Kristen Stewart is no actor. That is evident here as it is in everything in which she has appeared. The CGI is fair but there is not enough of it. Most of the scenes in this film are primarily shadows of Europe's horrible monarchy history.

Much, much worse than I expected!
8 August 2012
Universal really blew it this time. They butchered a great Dr. Seus story. The writing is bad, the casting is bad, the songs are the worst thing about the picture. The CGI is great, but of course, that is all done by computer algorithms written by other people who do a great job. Danny Devito's voice is very annoying, but then I've always felt that way. I was expecting more after such a great production as Despicable me, but then that is probably the only good thing that universal has ever done. In fact, NBC has also gone far down hill. Looking at the credits, I guess Cinco Paul would the one to blame. He seems to have a had a hand in most of it. My family says this is a waste of our money and time. I want a refund!
