I just love these reviewers that give movies like this a 1 or a 2 and say it's "unbelievable". Would they also give a Tom and Jerry cartoon a one because Jerry hits Tom over the head with a frying pan, and "Oh my gosh!! The cat didn't die! That's so ridiculous!!" C'mon folks, this movie is like a big cartoon, with human characters. You pretty much know where this movie is going by watching the preview. But so what. It's still loads of fun, and rated PG so you can watch it with your kids. Sorry all you serious film buffs. No naked women, no sex, no swear words, just a whole lot of fun and "fish out of water" type jokes. Melissa is a fun title character, and Paapa Essiedu is the perfect "straight man". Have yourself a nice, clean enjoyable evening watching this one.

Continuity? And Hollywood writers want more $?

Justed wasted two hours but it was on a flight, so it's not like I had a whole lot more to do anyway. I guess I could have read the stuff in the seat pocket instead. The people who write on the instructions on the barf bag are slightly more talented than the junior high school kids who wrote this. Interesting how a twelve year old gets kidnapped to Cuba and J-Lo and her partner can bring her back on a commercial flight with no passport, no papers, no parental consent, and then "the Mother" can drive her in an old pickup from Moline to Alaska with none of the same. Aren't there two international border crossings between Illinois and Alaska. Then there's the other MAJOR plot holes. What were the bad guys really trying to do? Kill J-Lo? Kill the kid? Kill the plot? (Hard to kill something that doesn't exist). Whatever happened to "the story should make sense?" Oh well, maybe I'll just go back to watching something from the forties or fifties, like "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" or "Harvey" or "The Three Stooges in Space"
