Don't talk to strangers!
11 July 2005
Creepy, believable and the shots were very cool. Especially the fridge! Pacing was just right. The shots around the apartments were very clever and interesting. Love the cats and their use in the short. The only off was the acting - a little stiff but still watchable. The actor looks like a young, Chow Yun Fat. The actresses were both believable characters - I jump every time the bottle falls on the floor. The creepy darkness of the apartment and elevator adds to the overall mood of something bad about to happen. It really is a good ad for caller ID and for not talking to strangers ever! Hopefully, this will not give any potential "Richard" an idea!

Indie low budget film is more than it seems
11 July 2005
Okay, I know more background than most viewers. I know that ALL the visual effects were done by 1 main person who had the help of a few others every now and then. Look at any visual effects-heavy movie and then at the credits - it usually takes hundreds of special artists and millions of dollars. I know that the editing, sound, color and technical everything was done by ONE person. This wasn't a one-location, everyone talks and smokes pot indie. This was 5 locations, 35 characters and 100's of extras. It's not perfect. It's funny, it has good characters, it has a moral, and its fun. It's a solid 8.

Joan of Arcadia (2003–2005)
Best show on TV
11 December 2004
It was disheartening to see that the first review was the one negative review in the bunch. When I opened the rest a sigh of relief echoed my quiet office. I think "Joan of Arcadia" is hands down the best show on TV. It has excellent actors, great writing, and each episode is more entertaining or satisfying than the last. This show touches me every time I watch it. The vehicle used is entertaining, the characters are wonderfully written, and a profound message is sent out without ever preaching. Having just been through the most faith-rocking year of my life, the truths illuminated in this series have provided comfort, insight, and peace. With all the faithless programming available, this show is a breath of really fresh air!
