Abduction (2011)
Don't get why everyone is trashing this movie.. this is a great movie!
I don't get what people are so upset about from this movie. I saw this movie with my best friend(who is a major Taylor Lautner fan, and it was HER idea to go see it) and I really enjoyed it!
The plot of a boy finding his own picture on a missing kids website was captivating. But, I will agree that it moved a little too fast in the beginning when the people in the suits came, and there was a bomb in the oven... But don't leave just because of that scene! It's never as scary as it is there...
A few things bother me, like how Koslo had all this technology that could never exist in the real world (probably) And there were some times when the dialogue was lacking in something, like during Nathan's 911 call, and other times.
And, sure, there are things they don't explain like the gun under the chair in the stadium, or Karyn setting herself free, but you are supposed to put two-and-two together! This is also a mystery, after all!
Remember how Nathan asked Zeke is he had done "what I asked"? I think that was putting the gun under the chair... And I'm pretty sure that Karyn somehow cut herself free with the glass she knocked over.
I feel like this movie was really good! But, the ending definitely calls for a sequel. What is up with Martin? Why is he in hiding, since he technically had the authority to do what he did? Why doesn't he at least say hi to his son in person?
Nancy Drew (2007)
A painful disgrace to the classic Nancy Drew
I saw this once before I started reading the books, and liked it. I decided to read the books, and I watched it again. Only then did I realize how TERRIBLY WRONG the movie was.
Nancy Drew was not such a weak, goody-two-shoes bean pole in the classics. She was strong, stubborn, but still respected her father's wishes. She could take good care of herself. Emma Roberts looks nothing like Nancy Drew would.
Carson Drew was never so... over-protective. Sure, he tried to keep Nancy safe, but he was also confident that his daughter could take care of herself.
Ned was probably the WORST in inconsistency. They made him look like a desperate, love-sick puppy! Ned was no-where near being like that! And, he has dark brown hair, not blonde.
Overall, I think the plot is a little over-the-top in accidents. Plus, the ending is a little hard to follow. I won't spoil anything, but just warning you.
Rango (2011)
Giving a two is being generous.... Odd, and the comedy was the only good thing about it
This movie, to say the least, is the strangest thing I have ever seen. I went to see this movie, expecting a cute, fun, kid movie. I was sadly disappointed.
There are no fun kid aspects of this movie besides the comedy. The content is at times a little... well, not exactly "vulgar" but at the same time not kid-friendly. There are uses of the d-word and the h-word, and scary face offs at times. There was drinking, and smoking.
At times I could not figure out WHAT IN THE WORLD was going on. I think that some parts were too western for me and just turned odd. I can't describe it in words.
There WERE some funny aspects, like the owls, and some occasional jokes. Though, that was as far as the comedy went, really.
Take my advice, run to "The Other Side of the Street" and AVOID this movie. I did not find it very much entertaining. If Tangled were still in theaters, seeing that would ALMOST make up for the two hours I wasted in Paramount's trash of a movie.
