Battleship (2012)

The special effects are incredible ! This movie has it all , action explosions ! And robots , who could ask for more from an action movie ! If you like intense hi-tech computer graphics ,and inter galactic battles. Between man and machine , than this movie is the one to see ! But if you like good old shoot em' up movies, like Rambo or Die Hard . Than this movie isn't for you ! I haven't seen the block buster yet but it looks amazing ! A definite must see for the big screen ! For the technology and intense high pulse rush alone ! I would give it an A +! It looks like one of the best, movies out there by far this year ! And that is no lie , I have seen a lot of movies of this genre ! This movie surpasses them by far !

I have seen this coming of age story, about a young woman who seemed to have an ordinary life. Trying to find herself, and fit in to the new town. Until she met the brooding young man and now she is stuck in middle of a sorted. Triangle between a werewolf and a vampire! And which one her heart will choose, though I haven't read the books. As of yet, I still found the movie to be bittersweet yet romantic ! I can not wait to see how this saga, between Edward , Bella and Jacob. Will end , I would recommend this movie who anyone who enjoys a good love story. But if you want to see a movie with a little bite. With no romantic undertones . Than this movie isn't for you! I would give it an A !

Kung Fu Panda (2008)

This cartoon was funny from the start,all the way to the end.I love it,because there were no people in it. Po was my favorite character,because he reminds me of our cat;all he wanted to do was sleep and eat. This was my mom's take on this hilarious cartoon! About a comical but lovable panda. Who later became the Dragon Master ! Mine was I too loved it I laughed from beginning to end ! It was that funny , I mean who would ever think a chubby lazy panda. Could become a savior to an entire village is quite humorous! We can't wait to see the sequel ! If it is anything like this one ,it will be just as funny! Jack Black , was a great choice for the voice of Po ! It made it even funnier!

Once upon a time there was a town called Halloweentown ! Where everything is Halloween, all year around ! Then Jack Skelington the Pumpkin king of this dreary and creepy little town. Had a wonderfully awful idea why not, celebrate Christmas and make it ours. There in lies the title , The Nightmare Before Christmas. A dark and gloomy spin on the classic poem. 'Twas the Night Before Christmas', that only Tim Burton himself could deliver! Such a twisted tale,of meshing Christmas and Halloween together as one! In this hauntingly delightful musical. About kidnapping Father Christmas, and putting his own spin on the holiday! But his plan takes a frightful turn for the worse, when the toys he created terrify and turn on the little kids! All of that sinister planning of his crashed and burned! My favorite character was Sally , a kind hearted rag doll held captive by a mad scientist! Who in the end won over the black hearted Jack! I love this this movie ! It combines two of my favorite holidays together. In a off color

The movie Mary Reilly, is the tale about good and evil. And how the two tore apart the soul of one man,driving him to madness.This man was a doctor by day and a killer by night.He was a healer of man loved by all who knew him.And at night he was someone that was feared by all that he meant a long the streets.He would have black outs and could not remember what he did at all.He killed many people, got away with it for a long time because; his other half would hide him in the darkness of his mind. Julia Roberts (aka Mary Reilly) played the part very well. I loved this movie because,I feel torn between my good and bad half.We all have times when we feel this way. But there are some people that do not know the difference between the two.The story Mary Reilly was Written by Valerie Martin.The other name for this dark tale is Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde. By Robert Louis Stevenson. This is my mom's take on this tale of good vs evil, within ones self! mine is the two worked well together , in this dark thriller. John Malkovich , portrayed both characters equally well ! He really made me believe he had two totally different personalities. He was that convincing, I too loved this movie.

Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)

Dracula beloved !

I have seen this rendition of the classic Bram Stoker's Gothic vampire novel. About the infamous Count Dracula Copola's vision really captured the dark essence of the story! I found it to be the best rendition ever, Gary Oldman's portrayal was incredible he really brought a chill down my spine. He was that terrifying, in this disturbing love triangle, of a beautiful young woman Mina (Winona Ryder), her handsome fiancé Jonathan (Keanu Reeves) and Dracula (Oldman)! The acting was fantastic by all, including Van Helsing( Hopkins ). This movie had it all, romance, death, vampires and other creatures of the night! And bloodshed ! The ultimate horror love story of all time! This is my daughter's take on this movie.Iam the one that told her,about this movie.I knew that she would love it as much,as I do.The love trio,between them is twisted yet some how hauntingly beautiful.

I love this movie , Demi Moore's portrayal of Hawthorne's character. From his classic novel was excellent, as the woman who had committed the carnal sin of adultery. And was considered a harlot and a witch. For not only did she have an affair , brought on by feelings of lust and desire. But it was with a Holy man sworn to be loyal and faithful to only the Lord our savior. Which was considered forbidden , so as her punishment she was forced to wear the scarlet letter 'A'. Which stood for adulteress, But she when found out she was with child. And out of wedlock she had only two options , neither one was promising. In the end she had only 4 options be hung, burned , end her affair with the Priest (Oldman) which was forced to leave the church. And her final choice leave with her child and never comeback! Great move fantastic acting ! Due to certain controversial content this movie isn't for everyone! But for anyone who appreciates classic literature this is the movie for you!

I love this movie, Mel Gibson's performance was Oscar worthy by far one of his best next to Braveheart! I haven't seen very many versions of the classic Shakespeare's play, but two. But this one surpassed the other one by far ! This is my daughters take on this movie.I have seen every one of the older versions of this play.And I can honestly say that his performance is just as good,as the men that portrayed this crazy prince in the past.Mel really made me believe that he was a mad man.He me feel sorry for him and mad at the next.If Shakespeare were alive to see him,in this play he would of loved it as much as I did. Glen Close, was great in this movie;she truly made me think that she too had gone mad.

This movie was the worst movie I have ever seen in my life time.Johnny Depp's performance was great. However the movie itself was down right awful.It was demented and degrading to gays and women. Toward the end of this piece of crap movie,he looked like a decaying corpse. I did not know that rotten flesh bad language and a lot of sex made a good movie.I thought that good acting and a good plot made a good movie.Not a man with a horrible affliction and bad acting. That is my mom's take on this ghastly movie, mine is I found it be appalling and an abomination! I did not know that obsession with man's genitals and orgies! Made a movie good! Depp's performance was one of his best ever, it is to bad. He wasted on such a disgusting , perverted piece of tripe! This movie is like the plague, it lingers and makes you suffer as you watch it! I think the worst part was his body deteriorate and wither in decay! We give this movie an F, not suitable for everyone due the pervese and disturbing content. How it made it to theaters we have no idea!

Fantastic classic

I love this movie , Leonardo Dicaprio's performances were stellar! This was a beautiful rendition , of the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas. Though I have seen it many times, it is still one of my favorites. The cast was incredible, and the acting was superb! Especially from the four acclaimed and seasoned actors, who portrayed the aging Musketeers. The only part about this movie, was the mistreatment of the good twin Philipe. Forced to hide his face, and having to live in solitude in a dark dank cell. I really felt sorry for him, because he didn't deserve that punishment! The King (also Dicaprio), was a vindictive spoiled brat especially when he didn't get his way! I didn't care for him to much, but behind the betrayal and deception. There was one character that added levity and that was Portos, I found him to be quite comical! This was one of the best versions of this classic , I have ever seen. I would give it an A++! This is my daughter's take on the movie.I too loved this movie it is just as good as,the one that;Richard Chamberlain was in.

Sleepy Hollow (1999)

There once was a Town known as Sleepy Hollow, that was haunted by a headless horseman. Who was controlled an evil sinister witch, beheading anyone that she felt needed to be eliminated. While searching for his own missing head. Reining terror upon anyone left remaining, so they called upon Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) who was a very peculiar detective. To help solve this horrific crime, before anymore headless corpses popped up. But when they did the whole town blamed him for being a bad omen and a coward. So then it is up to him this young orphan and the enchanting Katrina (Chritina Ricci) who won the heart of Ichabod. With her white magic, it was up to those three . To stop the evil witch her step mother, find the horseman's head . And save the town, I love this version because it is a lot more entertaining .Than the original! One of the best horror movies I have seen !

I love this movie,Richard Gere (Lancelot) was the hero, that won the heart of Julia Ormond (Guinevere).In this movie she was to marry the King.Which she did even though she loved the first knight.When they met he was just a common man that fought for money. That is my mom's take on the epic tale of King Arther and Lancelot. Mine I love this movie as well, it is one of the best renditions . About the legend of Camelot, I have seen it has adventure lust. And forbidden love , between Lancelot and Guinevere! But this tale of the sorted love triangle, has a dark side like all movies. It has a villain Ben Cross (Maligant) a cruel black hearted monster. Whose sole purpose was to dethrone the King and claim Camelot as his own! Until his untimely demise , by the sword of the first knight!

I loved these cartoons,because the main characters are all animals.My favorite character is Melmen, he whines like a big baby. He reminds me of my dad because he to thought that, he could catch any bug that was known to man.Their misadventures, are quite funny.They seem to find trouble where ever they go and if they do not find it;some how it always finds them.These cartoons are a good way for children, to learn how to make friends with,those who are different. That is my mom's take on these hilarious cartoons! Mine is that I too find quite funny, nothing seems to go their way! Everywhere they go trouble always follows them! In one way or another, my favorite character is Marty. Because he always has some out there idea, followed by sarcasm! To sum it up we both loved these cartoons! And if you want a good laugh ! And are a child at heart , then these are the cartoons for you!

I have seen this rendition and I can't not only say it is one of the best. Versions of classic legend, of the thief who stole from the rich and gave to the less fortunate. He is the best looking of the Robin Hoods, Kevin Costner's performance as the legendary Prince of thieves. Was excellent , and in my opinion this was one the best movies he ever did. Morgan Freeman was also very good. As his wise and spiritual sidekick, they worked very well together as a team. The scenery was beautiful, the acting was terrific. Alan Rickman's portrayal of Robin's nemesis The Sheriff of Nottingham in certain aspects were almost comical. But on the flip side he was heartless , sadistic and cruel! In nature, but beyond the battles the heartache and betrayal. There is a lighter side to this movie , the merry men and the drunkard friar. Were quite, comical ! Yet at the end of it all the hero managed to still win the heart of the fair . Maid Marion!

Ghost (1990)

I love this movie,the late Patrick Swayze made a very sexy ghost.It is very hard to watch this movie with out crying. Now that he has passed away it is even harder to watch.This is one of the best love stories I have seen.Demi Moore was very good in this movie. The two of them worked very well together,they made me think that;they were really in love.Woopi was very funny in this movie,she made me believe that she could hear ghosts.Tony,did a good job playing both sides of the coin. That is my mom's take on this classic romantic movie. I too love this movie, it made me laugh , cry and feel angry. All true signs of a really good movie! It was sad before but now I can't watch without breaking into tears. From beginning to end, but beside the tragedy . And sadness, it is still the best romantic movie of all time.

I love this movie, based on the book by Anne Rice. I may have seen it a lot , but it is still one of my favorites! Tom Cruise was the best Lestat by far with his intense passion and fiery anger ! He captured the essence of the character ,and then there was Louis the vampire with humanity. Resenting the dark gift that was bestowed upon him. So in a way they balanced each other out! In this turn of the

century vampire movie. Of vampires who are trying to find themselves, in society! Surviving on the

nectar of life. In order to find salvation, but there is a lot of sacrifice. Betrayal , hate and love. Along the way, lurking in darkness like phantoms in the night. But there was one factor who tried to tear them a part besides Lestat's insanity ! And that was Claudia a sadistic spoiled brat, who wanted Louis all for herself ! A seriously twisted triangle! But the one character I feel sorry for the most in someways was Armand the under estimated vampire in this dark tale!

The Phantom of the Opera (2004)

This movie is a beautiful yet dark classic love story. I love this newer remake of Gaston Lerouxs's story. Of love,hate,heart break and betrayal. That is my mom's take on the tragic but beautiful story! Mine is , I too loved this tale of a tormented soul longing for the one thing he couldn't have ! The heart of the angelic beauty with the golden voice. Because she loves another , but the phantom is determined to claim her as his own! Even if it means killing her one true beloved ! Now that is what I call a true romantic movie. Because it brings all the emotions to the surface, in a poetic way. Through song , for each haunting melody tells about the character. With each lyric they are exposing their inner most feelings. What really captivated me was the phantom himself! All that passion and anger he really owned the story!

Robin Hood (2010)

Wow that looks like one of the best renditions, of the legend of Robin Hood I have seen. Since Robin Hood : Prince of thieves! The Scott brothers did another amazing epic movie , Russel Crowe was excellent as the leader of thieves! This destined be a classic. Epic adventure it has action, passion, battle; between good and evil. Justice and injustice of the kingdom and its people. A definite must see , for all who appreciate a good medieval movie! As much as I do then this movie is for you! But if you are not knights and chivalry, then this is not a movie to see! The other highlight is that Maid Marion has strength and conviction, to hold her without relying on a man!

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)

Once a upon a time in London there was a demented barber and his girlfriend (aka his straight razor).This slasher opera is very bloody and dark. Johnny Depp was very good in this remake of the classic Barber of Seville play made into a movie.He really made me believe that he was in deed mad. That was my mom's take on the demented yet humorous movie of Sweeney Todd. Mine was I too thought he was insane , as the slasher barber. Consumed by wanting to seek revenge on the man who kidnapped his daughter. And drove his beloved wife into sheer madness. Then there was his quirky , yet also slightly deranged cohort. The baker and her unique pies, together they made a disturbing yet comical duo! Due graphic content this movie isn't for everybody! But people who like Burton's dark comedies then this a movie for you!

Gladiator (2000)

I love this movie , it has all of the basic elements of a epic ! Destined to be a classic, from the incredible acting to the costumes. Pure perfection , Tony and Ridley Scott really captured the essence of the Gladiator movies ! It definitely was worthy of every Oscar , it received ! Russel Crowe's performance as Maximus was as stellar as Charlton Heston's in Ben Hur. There was a only one part of this movie, that really got to me. And that was heartless merciless murder of his family. I broke into tears, but despite that depressing scene. It is still one of my all time favorite movies! I would definitely rate it an A +! But due to minor suggestive scenes this movie is not for everyone. But if you like action till the death and some blood shed , then this is the movie for you!

At first I thought that this movie was a sweet yet sad movie.Kind of bitter sweet and I felt sorry for,Helen Hunt's character. Living with a sick child and her mother.And the down on his luck artist living with his cute little dog.The only one I did not feel sorry for at all was the nut job that Jack Nicholson played. That made the movie OK at the beginning, then you get to the middle of it;and that is when it gets ugly. Because of the beating down that the sweet gay artist that Greg played.I really hated that part.This movie was not at all what the name of it is like;As Good as it Gets. My rear it should have been named As Worse As it Gets!

The Brothers Grimm (2005)

A demented fairytale !

I love fairy tales, but this horrifying telling of the Grimms infamous tales. Was not one for children , when I saw the previews I thought wow this movie looks good ! But when I watched it I had a totally different reaction! It was awful , despite the special effects. The story behind it, was like walking into a really bad dream ! With every dark twist and turn the more disturbing it became ! And yet I found myself compelled to watch till the very end. Kind of like a book , no matter how terrible it may be! That was this movie , the only highlight of this grim tale. Was Matt Damon and the late Heath Ledger, portraying the masters of the macabre fairytale. Jakob and Wilhem Grimm , to sum it up this movie isn't for everyone ! If I want to watch a Gothic fairytale movie . It be Alice in Wonderland , Red riding hood or wait until Snow white and the huntsman is released. Before I would watch this again!

This movie started out cute and ended up being like a dude flick!Girl what were you thinking? Why did you go from cute and sweet,to a very nasty potty mouth dude;that hated the ladies.If I wanted to see a movie like that I would watch a "B" movie. If that is what you were going for you hit the nail on the head with this one. That is my mom's opinion about this comedy of the sexes. Mine is I liked it at first it was funny, and witty! But then further into the movie, it was one cuss word after another! And this sweet romantic comedy, transformed into a perverted dude flick! If I wanted to watch something that kept referring to oral gratification. Every two seconds , I would watch the revamped 'Two and a half men !"

I thought this movie looked funny, adorable and refreshing! What a good movie should be ! The couple was awkward but adorable, and the more they dragged on their engagement. It made the movie seem even funnier! I have seen a lot of romantic comedies before, some with more romance than comedy! Others were raunchy and not at all romantic nor funny! But this one blended the two perfectly. The way they were meant to be, I would like to see a movie. That actually makes me happy , all the way through! So if you like movies , with quirky and dysfunctional yet humorous relationships. This is the movie to go see, but if you want raunchy then go see the Bridemaids!

These movies , are horrific and terrifying to the very core! They are awful , Freddy Krueger made Jason and Mike Myers look like dark angels! He can definitely give someone nightmares, he is grotesque. What he did to his victims , would make any squeamish person want to vomit! That is why I will never get this obsession , anyone who likes these are seriously disturbed! I would hardly call these good, blood and gore doesn't make a movie good! Being terrified to the very core, with it's graphic nightmarish scenes. To the point you want to scream, walk out. Cover your face the whole time , faint or hurl. That is all of the signs that a movie is not worth watching!
