Martin & Short make it
6 February 2022
Despite Selena Gomez' horrid acting, this show was a blast to watch. The ending was a bit confusing to my wife and I, perhaps a segue into next season? Twists and turns galore, with plenty of quick witted humor and physical comedy. I highly recommend this show.

Totally Unexpedted
17 February 2017
I did not read any other reviews nor did I read the synopsis of this movie before watching it. I had seen a few trailers out of the corner of my eye and thought; Tina Fey, has to be a totally laugh out loud comedy, right? I could not have been more wrong. This was a Dramedy in every sense of the word, but more drama than comedy. Tina Fey was excellent in what I would consider her 1st dramatic role. She played the part brilliantly. Once it started and I realized it was not a total comedy, I was apprehensive. I continued watching and was glad I did. I completely enjoyed this movie and I think you will too.

Too whacked out for my taste
30 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Potential Spoilers...not sure what is considered a SPOILER First of all let me state I only watched this because of the high ratings. Most of the time, IMDb viewers have similar tastes to mine. However, in this instance I could not agree less with the average 8.2 rating.

It started out very promising: excellent actors, historically interesting time frame, interesting characters (both true and fictional). Then it started going downhill. After the first few episodes it just started getting way too weird for me, both with the plot and the sexual encounters between some of the characters.

There was an episode in the middle of the season that was a flashback that really threw me for a loop, then the very next episode picked up where the episode before left off.

Don't get me wrong, Eva Green is an excellent actress and played her whacked out part very well, but the plot was so willy-nilly, I had no idea where it was going.

I was very disappointed and won't watch Season 2.

Something Fresh!
26 February 2014
Tatiana Maslany has to be the most confused actress on the planet. Playing about 8 or 9 different roles and playing them all well is just amazing to me. The show itself is a breath of fresh air. Finally not some lame recycled idea just done with a little twist. This is all new. It took me a few episodes to get into it, as I was very confused at first, but then I just couldn't stop watching. All of her characters play so well off each other, the same yet very different. Her cop partner kind of rubbed me the wrong way, I just didn't like him (sign of a good actor). I just can't say enough about this show. I can't wait for season 2 this April.

Lost it's Mojo in Season 3
11 November 2013
I was absolutely enamored with this show for the first two seasons. After just finishing season 3, I was left confused and feeling lost. It was just like LOST and FRINGE in that it started strong and almost believable, then just started getting weirder and weirder so much so that you couldn't even follow the storyline anymore. The characters developed really well, and the interactions was great, but the weekly stories, whether linked to each other or not, just got out of control silly and crazy. I hated Duke in the beginning but he turned out to be quite a likable character. I think the best part of the show was where it was filmed in Nova Scotia, I may have to visit there, it is absolutely gorgeous! I doubt I will watch Season 4. I just hope GRIMM doesn't go this route...

Waste of time
4 February 2012
Please do not go into this movie thinking it is going to be anything like Scorpion King or Scorpion King 2. The first one was great, the second one was good, but this one is a total waste of time. It is nothing like the first two since this "king" is now a hired assassin and no longer a king. The dialog is terrible, the fight scenes unrealistic, the acting seemed like they were reading off cue cards, there was no emotion at all. The story may have had something to do with it since there was very little plot to follow. Just random fight scenes, and the 6'5" 300 lb king got beat up by a 5' tall 90 lb woman in one of them. I don't know what happened to Billy Zane, but he lost whatever acting skills he had (which were minimal to begin with). He was flat out horrible. Truly, honestly, and sincerely-do not waste your time on this just because you may think it is a continuation of the Scorpion series. It is not and it stinks

Battle of Los Angeles (2011 Video)

Yuck times 2000
17 April 2011
Not to be mistaken for Battle:Los Angeles that just finished in the theaters. This was a horribly bad (in so many ways) SYFY movie that just happened to come out on DVD around the same time. I did make that mistake, don't you too. The acting: bloody awful.. The story: what story? The Special Effects: Looked like they were drawn by a 6 year old with crayons. OK, an 80 year old washed up Air Force Reserve dude can bring down one of these alien spaceships with a 6 shooter, but F-18s (or something similar) can't bring one down with missiles. Then after the old fart brings down the spaceship, he shoots his six gun up into the weapons array and destroys it, but then he puts it on his shoulder and somehow know how to work it? and takes down another alien ship...I keep thinking SYFY is going to come up with a good original movie, but I keep getting disappointed with crap like this. They should just stick to original series, they are terrific.

I never laughed so hard
16 April 2011
I had tears running down my face I laughed so hard. This is the best adult animation movie I have ever seen. Certainly (my strongest warning) not for kids. At first you start watching it and say to yourself - "I can't watch this with the strings hanging off the marionettes!" But after about 5 minutes you forget they are even there. The puppet-masters are so good you get sucked right into the story. Political intrigue, romance, backstabbing actors, fast cars, hot women, lots of guns and ammo...what more could you ask for? There are a few things about this movie that are, well, just not right. For example, the puppet sex scene - way over the top. The bar scene was a little much too, but overall, this movie is in my top 5 of all time. If you like SouthPark humor (same guys), then you will love this movie. There are real people (actors, actresses and political figures) portrayed by marionettes in this movie. A few of the funniest are Kim-Jung Il and Matt Damon. You will not be disappointed! 10+ Stars

Cancelled too soon
15 April 2011
Terrific show extremely well acted by a bunch of unknowns. Great story and special effects and a terrific scenic spot (Wilmington NC). The show had so much promise and it ended with no ending...It should have been continued for at least another year. The oceanographers son in the show was also in Martian Child, and he is a terrific young actor at all of about 6 or 7 years old. I would put this on a par with Invasion but with better and more special effects and shots of the "creatures". The premise of a creature being created by a corporation who was years ahead of the rest of the world in scientific knowledge was not that far out of the realm of possibility. It just ended with no real closure. I have an ulterior motive to having it continue, it was largely filmed right down the street from my house.

Not quite what I expected
3 April 2011
First of all, I didn't realize it was Russian. It was dubbed in English so there were no annoying sub-titles. There were a few times when they show a newspaper headline or something on a computer that was in Russian, but it didn't take away from the story. The young man who played Black Lightning looked amazingly like Hayden Christenson from Jumper and the second set of Star Wars movies. He was very good in the role and he could easily play in American movies if he spoke English. His girlfriend was adorable as well. The special effects were not top notch but good enough to make the movie enjoyable. And of course there was the character you loved to hate, the evil rich guy who wanted to use the Black Lightning secrets, well, I can't tell you why. All in all, it was a very enjoyable movie.

Less than 1 star
23 March 2011
The only reason I gave this movie 1 star is because I couldn't give it any less. An absolute, total waste of time. The special effects were extremely cheesy (flashing lights on the screen for no apparent reason), the acting was horrible (the kids I could understand, but when Roddy McDowell acts "down" to a movie like this, it was really sad to see), the aliens were a total rip-off of Predator (and a bad one at that), the "tracker" was a ridiculous rip-off of the Star Wars Stormtroopers. Stella Stevens looked pretty good but her part was hard to watch as well. It looked as if the entire film was filmed by an eighth grader with a 20 pound shoulder held video camera from the 80's. I usually like anything science fiction, but this was beyond anything I could stomach.
