Not Bad for Rowling's First Movie Screenplay
2 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
As a lifelong Harry Potter fan since 1997, I was pretty excited about getting some more movies about the Wizarding World. It was even cooler that the creator of Harry Potter herself was going to write the script for the first Fantastic Beasts movie. That made me even more excited about it. I did enjoy watching the movie a lot.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them takes place in the 1920's during the Prohibition. The movie is about Newt Scamander traveling to New York for his research of magical animals. During his trip, a No-Maj (Muggle) named Jacob Kowalski finds out about Newt and his magical creatures. While trying to re-captures Newt's animals, they have to find out what kind of creature is attacking the non-magical community with the help of Tina Goldstein and her Legilimens (magic's version of telepathy) sister, Queenie Goldstein.

The movie has a great cast. The best actors in the movie were Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Colin Farrell as Percival Graves, Dan Folger as Jacob Kowalski, and Ezra Miller as Credance Barebone. I enjoyed their characters and performances the most. I can identify with Newt as a character because I'm also a shy person who loves animals. Also, the supporting cast of characters were also great.

It was cool seeing more of the magical creatures of the Wizarding World than was shown in previous entries in the Harry Potter franchise. The animals were one of the best parts of the movie. Also, it was great seeing more of the magical community outside of the United Kingdom. I really enjoyed that and the 1920's setting.

There were moments in the movie where I had a hard time understanding what people were saying which wasn't helped with all the loud explosions going on in certain parts of the movie. Newt Scamander was the worst offender because there were times where he was mumbling and I couldn't understand him at all. Another thing I didn't like about the first Fantastic Beasts movie was the twist involving the main villain. Even though I heard about the twist beforehand, I still didn't care for it.

Despite its flaws, I still enjoyed the first entry of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them spin-off movie series. The movie has a really good cast. The characters are enjoyable. It was great going back to the Wizarding World that I knew and loved for the past twenty years. JK Rowling did a pretty good job for her very first movie screenplay. Hope she keeps it up for the other Fantastic Beast movies. Can't wait for the next entry in this Harry Potter movie spin-off series.

Iron Fist (2017–2018)
6/10
Marvel's First Misstep
30 July 2017
I've been a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the first Iron Man movie was released in 2008. So I was pretty excited about Netflix's newest MCU show, Iron Fist. Despite the early negative reviews, I was willing to give the show a chance. It was a decent watch.

Iron Fist is about Danny Rand coming back home after training in the mystical city of K'un Lung for fifteen years along with the death of his parents. Some of the show's run time deals with Danny convincing people including his childhood friends, Ward and Joy Meachum, about his identity. The main problem that I have the show's main story line is it's dedicated to corporate politics. I wanted more focus on Danny being the Iron Fist.

Another problem with the show is the acting. Finn Jones wasn't as memorable as the main character, Danny Rand/Iron Fist. He does do a good job showing the emotional turmoil the character is going through because of his training tells him to bury his emotions and dealing with the deaths of his parents. All Danny does is talk about being the Iron Fist and never backs it up. The actress who plays Joy Meachum wasn't memorable as well. Joy can never seem to dedicate herself to a decision. Of the new characters introduced in Iron Fist, Colleen Wing was the best. I wanted to see more of her. Characters who were introduced in the other Marvel/Netflix shows like Clair Temple and Jeri Hogarth were great as always.

Compared to the other Marvel shows, the fight scenes are not very good. It shows whenever Danny has to fight someone. Finn Jones needs to get more practice. The only good fight scenes involve Colleen Wing.

Despite its flaws, Iron Fist is a decent watch. Not as good as the previous Marvel/Netflix shows, but still serviceable. After watching the show, I'm still excited about Netflix's The Defenders. Hopefully, they will fix the obvious flaws in the next season of Iron Fist.

Sense8 (2015–2018)
10/10
Beautiful and Visually Stunning.
30 July 2017
I checked out Sense8 on Netflix out of curiosity and to look for a new show to watch. Glad that I gave Sense8 a chance. The show is now one of my all time favorite shows. It is amazing! Sense8 is about eight strangers from all walks of life having a psychic connection to form a new "cluster." They can share skills with each other like hacking, detective work, hand to hand combat, and so on. While dealing with this, they must avoid being captured by those who want to experiment on them. The individual story lines for each of the characters are engaging. I found the characters very relate able.

The story does an amazing job of keeping the viewer hooked. Sense8 does take a few episodes to get any traction in season one, but it is worth it. The viewer can relate to the main eight character and their problems. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are some clichés in the show concerning certain characters, but that relates to their development as people.

Sense8 does a great job on tackling tough subjects like religion, gender, and other topics. It's great seeing a sci-fi show talk about subjects like that. That's one of the reasons why I love watching Sense8. Some of the sex scenes did make me uncomfortable, but I got over it because of how well-written and well-acted. the show was.

Another thing I liked about Sense8 is the cinematography. It is very beautiful. Each shot for every filming location is breathtaking. It must have been difficult finding some of them. In the end, it was well worth it. The beautiful shots of cities like Seoul, South Korea and Mumbai, India are amazing. Makes me want to travel to those places.

In the end, Sense8 is one of the best sci-fi shows that I've watched in recent years. The characters are well-written and relate-able. Also, the story-lines are well-written and very engaging. Definitely a show I would recommend to others. The Wachowskis have released a masterpiece. I'm so disappointed that Netflix cancelled Sense8. It's one of their best shows. At least, they came to their senses and gave the fans some closer in a two-hour series finale. I will miss waiting for a new season of this beautiful show.

Awesome Side Story in the Star Wars Universe
19 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Rogue One is a great start for the Star Wars Anthology movie series. It's also the best prequel so far in the Star Wars franchise. I was worried Rogue One was going to go the route of Suicide Squad because of the reshoots. After watching Rogue One with a friend and my mother last year, the movie is one of my favorites beside the Original Trilogy and The Force Awakens.

The main thing I like about Rogue One is it does an amazing job explaining how no one in the Empire knew about the weakness in the original Death Star that was exploited by Luke in Episode IV-A New Hope. It's also great in leading up to A New Hope. Also, Rogue One shows the Rebel Alliance in a different light. It shows that the Rebels are willing to do some dark things like killing people. I found that to be very interesting.

Rogue One isn't without its flaws. One of those flaws is some characters don't have their backstories fully fleshed out. We get a bit more info about Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor than the others. The other members of the Rogue One team are just there for the ride. The movie's main villain, Orson Krennic, and K2-SO were the stand-out characters in Rogue One. It was awesome that James Earl Jones returned as Darth Vader. His appearance in Rogue One was a highlight for me. I had issues with certain characters appearing in the movie because of really obvious CGI. It was very distracting when those characters appeared.

The movie's score was another flaw for me. I loved Michael Giacchino's previous works on movies and shows like The Incredibles, Doctor Strange, and Fringe. His work on Rogue One had to be done in three weeks because the previous conductor, Alexandre Desplat, because of reshoots and he was unavailable. It's obvious that the music was rushed because of that.

Despite those flaws, I really enjoyed Rogue One. It added much needed information and background to the Star Wars Universe. The movie had a great cast. Also, Rogue One is way better than The Force Awakens. Definitely worth adding to my movie collection to watch over and over again. It's also worth a watch for any Star Wars and sci-fi fans.

Epic Showdown between Avengers
4 July 2017
After seeing the amazing second Captain America movie, Winter Soldier, I was excited for Cap's third solo movie outing. As always, Marvel didn't disappoint me. Civil War lived up to the hype. It is a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's worth the watch for any fan of the MCU.

The story line for Civil War was really good. It kept me engaged through out the movie. The problem with the story is it can be confusing for those who don't keep up with all the different MCU movies. Also, some of the story was to set up the Black Panther and Spider-Man: Homecoming movies that haven't been released as of yet. Civil War also felt scaled down compared to the 2006 comic story line. The movie deals with the aftereffects of the Sokovia Incident and another one in Lagos which both events involved the Avengers. These two events divide the Avengers in two groups led by Captain America and Iron Man respectively.

It was amazing seeing Spider-Man finally show up in the MCU. Tom Holland nailed it as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Glad that Sony and Marvel/Disney made an agreement to share the character. I was disappointed by the last few Spider-Man movies and Marvel fixed my worries with the intro of Spidey. He was one of the highlights of Civil War. Another character introduced to the MCU is Black Panther. Chadwick Boseman was great as T'Challa/Black Panther. After seeing him in action, I can't wait for the Black Panther movie to come out in February 2018.

The rest of the cast gave great performances as well. It was good that the 2008 Hulk movie was acknowledged in the MCU by way of Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross played by William Hurt. Another problem I have with Captain America: Civil War is the villain. Daniel Bruhl's Helmut Zemo wasn't that memorable even though his actions in Civil War has a lasting impact in the MCU. Most of his actions seem like coincidences and good luck on his part. Despite that, I really enjoyed the movie and can't wait to see how the Avengers come together in Infinity War to fight Thanos.

Stranger Things (2016–2025)
10/10
A sci-fi masterpiece
27 March 2017
I gave Stranger Things a watch after hearing good things about it. After doing that, it's now one of my favorite sci-fi TV shows. Everything about it is very well done. The storyline, characters, and music were great. The kid actors did a very good job and didn't come off as annoying. The best actors in Stranger Things were Millie Bobbie Brown and David Harbour who play Eleven and Sheriff Hopper respectively. Stranger Things has a great 80's vibe. I loved the influences from Stephen King, Elfen Lied, and other things from the 80's. I don't want to spoil the storyline for season one because it was so good. Can't wait for season two to come out. The new season can't come any quicker.

A fun blast to the past
19 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I was excited about seeing The Force Awakens when it was announced. Also, I was kind of skeptical because the prequel Star Wars movies were hit or miss for me. George Lucas had some great ideas for the prequels, but they fell flat. The mix bag of good and bad performances also didn't help. So, I was a bit reserved about the movie.

It was great that JJ Abrams was announced as director for the movie. I enjoyed with what he did with the 2009 and 2013 Star Trek reboot movies along the 2008 TV series, Fringe. He did a great job with The Force Awakens. At least, he didn't go nuts with lens flares like with the 2009 Star Trek reboot movie.

One of the things I enjoyed about TFA were the new characters. Despite others calling her a Mary Sue, I liked Rey. She was really cool and a great role model for little girls. Poe could've been used more in the movie. Also, I'm glad they didn't kill him off. Even though I like Finn, he acted more like an ordinary, everyday person who was caught up in the movie's events and not like a First Order Stormtrooper turning on his former comrades. I even enjoyed Kylo Ren. It was great seeing familiar face like Han, Leia, and Chewie. They were some of my favorite characters from the original series.

Despite seeing my favorite Star Wars characters back on the big screen, the story was decent. It felt like they were trying to hard to capture the nostalgia of the original trilogy. They could've created some new threat for the new characters to fight against instead of a Death Star knock-off. Also, the movie brought up several unanswered yet important questions that I really wanted answered. The major important question is who are Rey's parents since that kept being brought up. Also, I want to know how Maz Kanata got Luke's lightsaber from Bespin.

Despite its flaws, I really enjoyed watching Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. It lived up to the hype. It's worth watching over and over again on Blu-Ray. Can't wait for Episode VIII and Rogue One to come out in theaters.

Amazing introduction to the magical side of the MCU
16 November 2016
Doctor Strange was on my must-see list of 2016 movies. It lived up to the hype and my expectations of the newest MCU movie. I have to say that it's one of my favorite entries in the MCU. Everything about the movie was amazing. As always, Benedict Cumberbatch didn't disappoint me with his performance. He was perfect as the arrogant neurosurgeon turn magic user, Doctor Stephen Strange. The supporting cast was excellent as well. I liked Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor were great as their respective characters. The main villain, Kaecillius, felt underused which is disappointing since they got a great actor like Mads Mikkelsen to play him. The best part of Doctor Strange was the visuals. They were beautiful. It was worth paying the extra money just to see the movie in 3-D. Doctor Strange is one of the few movies that wearing 3-D glasses actually enhanced my enjoyment of the movie besides The Avengers, Ant-Man, and of course, Avatar. Doctor Strange is now one of my favorite movies of 2016. I really loved seeing the character join the MCU. Can't wait to see more of the master of the mystic artes in the future. This movie is a must-see in 3-D.

Daredevil (2015–2018)
10/10
An Amazing Yet Dark Comic Series
12 September 2015
Once I heard Daredevil was joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I was excited. The Man Without Fear was finally getting a great adaptation. I'm so happy that I got to watch this brilliant entry to the MCU. Everything about the show is amazing.

I loved the series' dark tone. It captured the feel of Frank Millar's run of Daredevil comics perfectly. The cast is great as well. The stand- out actors so far are Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin respectively. Both actors were amazing. Some of the other actors didn't really impress me at all like Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll.

The best part of the show is the fight choreography. It came off as real and grounded. The story was engaging as well. It kept my attention though out the first season. I have to say that the Netflix Daredevil show is one of the best comic book shows that I have watched in years. Now, I'm excited to see the rest of the MCU/Netflix shows. I will be so happy to add Netflix's Daredevil to my movie/TV show collection.

Ant-Man (2015)
10/10
Fun heist/superhero movie
19 July 2015
Ant-Man has been in movie limbo for years. Originally, Edgar Wright was going to this movie, but left due to various issues. So I'm glad it was worth the wait. The movie was amazing. Ant-Man is a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The movie is about Scott Lang, an ex-con trying to do right by his daughter. When he couldn't hold down a job, he turns back to crime. This brings Scott to Hank Pym's attention. Pym wants Scott to become Ant-Man to stop his inventions from getting out into the world.

Ant-Man is an amazing movie. It has a great cast, story, humor, and special effects. The main leads (Scott, Hope, and Hank) work well together. The humor was on point and didn't become annoying like in Thor: The Dark World. The special effects were the best part of the movie. It was amazing seeing the world from the perspective of an ant. The effects look great in IMAX 3-D. Ant-Man is definitely worth seeing. It's a great entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Brilliant sequel
1 May 2015
After the release of the Avengers in 2012, I excitedly waited the release of its sequel. It set the bar very high. Age of Ultron did not disappoint me at all. I enjoyed every moment of it. I went to see the Avengers sequel at a 7:00 pm IMAX 3-D showing a day early.

In Age of Ultron, the Avengers finally turned into a team that works well together. They have been tracked down HYDRA facilities after the fall of SHIELD as shown in Captain America-Winter Soldier. In one mission, they run into Baron Von Strucker and the Maximoff twins (Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch). After finding Loki's scepter from the first Avengers movie, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner use it to create the artificial intelligence, Ultron. Like in other movies with AI, Ultron goes rogue.

Ultron's plan causes him to butt heads with the Avengers. It also leads up to the creations of the Vision. It's great how the Vision and Ultron have contrasting views of the world and the human race. The movie does a great job of keeping the audience's attention. It has a pretty good story. Also, Age of Ultron has a lot of funny moments that everyone will like.

The movie, like the first Avengers movie, has an amazing cast that works well with each other. I liked the newcomers in the movie as well. The actors who played Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were great in their respective roles. The best part of the movie is James Spader. He steals the show every time he shows up as Ultron. By the end of the movie, everyone was clapping. Age of Ultron is worth seeing and a great sequel to the first Avengers movie.

Iron Man (2008)
10/10
Start of a brilliant and amazing franchise
23 April 2015
When Iron Man came out in 2008, I didn't know much about the character except that he was a Marvel comic book character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. After watching the movie, I fell in love with Iron Man. He became one of my favorite comic book superheros along with Batman and the X-Men. The movie is the reason why I started collecting comic books and graphic novels. Iron Man 1 is an awesome start to what has become an amazing and well-loved franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Iron Man is a modern take on the origin story of Tony Stark and how he became Iron Man. Stark is the CEO of Stark Industries, a company that creates weapons which he inherited from his father, Howard Stark. Tony is a self-describe "genius, playboy, billionaire, philanthropist." While in Afghanistan, he is captured by a terrorist group called the Ten Rings who want him to build weapons for them to use. With the help of fellow prisoner, Yinsen, Stark creates a primitive suit of armor with some weapons and escapes. Because of his escape, Tony has a chance of heart and sets out to become a new hero called Iron Man.

The movie does a brilliant job of keeping the audience entertained. It has a great cast. Robert Downey Jr. is the perfect choice to play Tony Stark/Iron Man. He does such a good job that it's hard to separate the character from the actor. Iron Man has a great supporting cast like Jeff Bridges, Gwenyth Paltrow, and Terrance Howard. The movie has a great soundtrack, story-line, and special effects.

Iron Man is one of the best superhero movies that I've seen in years. Everything about this movie is brilliant. It never gets old over time. Iron Man is starts the MCU with a bang. Definitely a comic book movie that everyone should watch.

Fun superhero movie with a 1940's vibe
22 March 2015
When it was announced that Captain America was getting a movie, I admit that I had low expectations for the movie. Captain America wasn't a cool character like Iron Man, the X-Men, and Spider-Man. I still kept an open mind. After watching Captain America-First Avenger, I fell in love with the movie. It was better than expected.

The movie is about a sickly Steve Rodgers and his journey to be one of the greatest heroes in history, Captain America. He captures the attention of Dr. Abraham Erskine, a German scientist working for the SSR. Erskine chose Steve for a test subject for the Super Soldier Serum that he created because he believes in the good man that he sees in Rodgers. The serum transforms Rodgers into peak human condition at the cost of Erskine's life. Along the way, Rodgers goes up against Johann Schimdt, aka the Red Skull, who is the leader of the Nazi science division, HYDRA. Rodgers also has friends like Peggy Carter, Bucky Barnes, and the Howling Commandos to help.

First Avenger does a great job capturing the vibe of the 1940's. It has an engaging story. The music was great. It's hard getting the Star Spangled Man song and the Captain America March out of your head. The movie had a great cast. Hugo Weaving and Stanley Tucci was great as Red Skull and Dr. Erskine respectively. Loved Tommy Lee Jones in First Avenger. He had some great lines in the movie. Chris Evans was an awesome choice to play Captain America. I still remember him as Johnny Storm/Human Torch from the Fantastic Four movies. He still did an amazing job as Steve Rodgers/Captain America.

One of the best entries in the MCU
19 March 2015
Captain America became one of my favorite comic book characters after I watched First Avenger. I had low expectations for the movie because the character wasn't as cool or awesome like Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men, Spider-Man, the Hulk, and even Batman. After watching First Avenger, I was excited for the next Captain America movie. Winter Soldier did not disappoint. The movie is one of the best entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise.

Captain America-Winter Soldier takes place two years after the events of the first Avengers movie. Captain Steve Rogers is now working at S.H.I.E.L.D alongside fellow Avenger Black Widow, Nick Fury, and Maria Hill. He still feels like a man out of time in our modern day society. Rogers finds out about Project Insight which eliminates threats before they even happen via three Helicarriers after a mission. He learns not everything is what it seems.

The newest threat that Cap has to face is the mysterious assassin called the Winter Soldier. After the assassin kills Nick Fury, Captain America goes on the run from S.H.I.E.L.D. The only help that he has are Black Widow, Sam Wilson/Falcon, and Maria. They face a threat from the past that comes back to haunt them.

Captain America-Winter Soldier is one of the best comic book movies that I have watched in recent years. It's on up there with Iron Man 1, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Captain America-First Avenger, Spider-Man 2, the Avengers, X-Men 1, Guardians of the Galaxy, X2: X-Men United, Thor 1, and the Dark Knight. I enjoyed the movie a lot. It had a great story- line that will keep you interested through out the movie. There are some great twists in the movie (except for the major one if you're a comic book fan whose familiar with the Winter Soldier story-line).

The movie's soundtrack was also amazing. The special effects and CGI look great. Unlike the recent Iron Man and Thor sequels, the humor in Winter Soldier felt more natural. The new characters (Agent 13, Alexander Pierce, Sam Wilson, and Brock Rumlow) introduced in the movie were great additions to the MCU.

My favorite of the new characters is Sam Wilson aka Falcon. I love his interactions with Captain America. Can't wait to see more of Sam Wilson/Falcon in future MCU movies. Captain America-Winter Soldier is definitely one of the best comic book movies that I've seen in recent years. It is an amazing addition to the MCU. It has a great story with espionage/thriller tones. This is one Marvel movie that I will be watching over and over again.

A fun, entertaining addition to the MCU
9 March 2015
Like a lot of other comic book fans, I wasn't that familiar with Guardians of the Galaxy. After seeing the trailers for the movie, I just had to see the movie. Glad that I did. Guardians of the Galaxy is definitely one of my favorite MCU movies along with the Avengers, both Captain America movies, Iron Man 1, and the 1st Thor movie. Marvel did a great job taking risk on this rarely known group of ragtag misfits.

The movie does a good job of telling the audience what they need to know about the five main characters so their backgrounds wouldn't bog down the story-line. The characters in Guardians of the Galaxy are fun, quirky and memorable. My favorite characters are Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccon, Groot, Nebula, and Yondu. The one character I'm indifferent to is Drax. They should've pick someone better to play Drax the Destroyer. I really like how the story for this movie ultimately ties in with the Avengers-Infinity Wars movies and the rest of the MCU.

In the movie, Peter Quill aka Star Lord finds himself in trouble when he finds a mysterious Orb. He finds out that a Kree radical named Ronan the Accuser is looking for the item as well. Star-Lord gets help from Gamora (one of the daughters of Thanos the Mad Titan), Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon (a talking raccoon bounty hunter), and Groot. Ronan was a pretty cool villain. It was cool seeing more of Thanos in this movie after his cameo in the first Avengers movie. Guardians of the Galaxy has an awesome soundtrack of music from the 1970's and 1980's. I also enjoyed the humor in the movie. Guardians of the Galaxy is a must watch for everyone.

Dollhouse (2009–2010)
10/10
Fun, Intelligent and Amazing to Watch
23 February 2015
As with Firefly, I finally got around to watching Dollhouse last year. I was blown away with how awesome the show was. It's definitely one of Joss Whedon's best works along with the Avengers, Firefly, Serenity, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel. It became one of my favorite TV shows. Dollhouse will make you think differently about what is the human soul and if it's possible to erase the things like memories and personality that makes us human.

The main character of Dollhouse is Echo, an Active from the Los Angeles Dollhouse owned by the Rossum Corporation. Echo is the #1 (and the most popular) Active at the LA Dollhouse. She can be imprinted with memories, skills, and a personality for an job. It can be anything from an assassin, a FBI agent, and so own. When not doing a job, she and other Dolls are in a tabula rasa (blank slate) state. Over time in her blank slate state, Echo starts to gain her own personality and the ability to use previous imprints.

Dollhouse kept my attention from start to finish. I'm glad that I finally got around to watching this show. It's definitely one of my favorite things that was created by Joss Whedon along with the Avengers, Firefly, Agents of SHIELD, Serenity, and Angel. At least, Fox was nice enough to let Dollhouse have a second season unlike Firefly so Joss Whedon could tie up loose ends for the show. I will never forgive Fox for canceling both Firefly and Dollhouse since both shows were amazing.

Frozen (I) (2013)
8/10
A decent and enjoyable movie for kids
3 February 2015
I've been a big Disney fan since I was a little girl. Sadly, I didn't see Frozen when it was in theaters. The main reason was I didn't really pay much attention to advertisement for the movie. After hearing how Frozen was getting reviews about how amazing it was, I bought the Blu- Ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack in April last year. When I watched the movie, I thought Frozen was a decent entry to the Disney library.

My main problem with the movie is the storyline. Some parts were far- fetched like how the parents handled Elsa's powers after the accident. Separating the two sisters and isolating Elsa only caused her powers to get out of hand at times. At least, Anna and Elsa turned out just fine after a decade of barely seeing each other. The addition of Grand Pappie and the other rock trolls was ridiculous. The rock trolls add nothing to the story. Also, they could've explained how to handle Elsa's powers better which would've made things a lot easier for the royal family. I really hated the twist with the movie's villain. It was obvious that it was tacked on last minute.

I do like Anna and Elsa a lot. They're both great princesses in their own right. On the other hand, they do make stupid decisions that make no sense. One example is Elsa just running away from her problems and singing about how she doesn't care about what others think and acts like an idiot when Anna comes to see her in the ice castle that she created. Also, Anna stupidly decides to marry a prince that she barely knows. Despite their stupid decisions, I still like the two sisters along with Olaf the snowman.

The movie has beautiful animation like Tangled. It also has some great songs like Do You Want to Build a Snowman, For the First Time in Forever, and of course, Let It Go. Other songs should have been cut out like Fixer Upper because they add nothing to the story. I can't see how Frozen is anything like the movies from the Disney Renaissance era. It's good, but not that good. For a kid like me who grew up during the 1990's, it's hard to top movies like Aladdin, Lion King, and Mulan. Despite its flaws, I will still recommend Frozen to others.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013–2020)
9/10
A Great Addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe
25 November 2014
When I heard about Agents of SHIELD, I was excited even more so when I realized that they were bringing back one of my favorite MCU characters, Phil Coulson, back. The show did have a slow start. After the events of Captain America-The Winter Soldier, the show really starts to show its potential. A lot of shows like Buffy and Dollhouse start off slow in the first season. The story lines and characters in Agents of SHIELD really start to shine after the big reveal in Captain America 2.

The show does reference the events of the Avengers and the solo adventures of each Avenger character like mentions of Extremis from Iron Man 3, the events of Thor-The Dark World, and so on. Agents of SHIELD brings in characters who are both old and new to the MCU. Some examples are Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Deathlok, Blizzard, and Mockingbird along with Peggy Carter. It's great that the show is bringing villains from the comics that were never used in the movies. Agents of SHIELD is definitely worth the watch. Can't wait to add season 2 to my movie collection.

Firefly (2002–2003)
10/10
A Sci-Fi Classic
11 November 2014
I didn't watch Firefly when it was first released in 2002. Recently, I watched the show and fell in love with. Firefly does a great job combining the Western and Science Fiction genres. The use of Chinese swear words is a clever idea to get around the censors. I hate the fact that the show was cancelled. Joss Whedon created a classic that should've lasted as long as his other creations, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Firefly has a great cast of lovable characters. I also love the "Ballad of Serenity." If you're a Joss Whedon fan or love watching stuff from the Western and Science Fiction genres, Firefly is worth checking out.
