Route 9 (1998)
Incredible! A TV Movie success!
When placing your eyes upon a TV Movie you would not expect that it will exceed your expectations. But this low budget movie definitely did. It centered around two police officers who decide to keep some 'drug related' money leading to various circumstances and unfortunate endings. The acting was good but a force-ful OTT acting that you would expect from a TV film with the rural town being a perfect spot for The Simple Plan. Like some people had noted before it is very similar to the underground hit, A Simple Plan, released that same year.
It is not as good as the latter but I was genuine surprised with the results. The saying 'Money turns everyone into vultures' is widely portrayed throughout the beginning, right through to the finale.

One Hour Photo (2002)
Surprisingly Effective and extremely good acting!
One of this years great surprises was 'One Hour Photo'. A combination of beautiful acting by every single person to detail the disturbing story of a guy who processes photographic images for a family. You are told through the eyes of Sy, who takes extra caution in developing pictures for a family he has admired for years, the 'Yorkins'.
A disturbing story that trancends into a moral plot within the final stages. The directing was very very impressive and the plot change was very good, but it did not seem dramatic enough to intitle it as a thriller. Everyone at first has a notion of a troubled guy who wants to harm the family but as it progresses you see a totally different side to 'Photo Guy' Sy.
This movie is definitely worth a viewing, Robin Williams acting is incredible with the moral story within being an important lesson that we all usually, at some point in our lives take for granted.

Identity (2003)
Surprisingly good...
This was surprisingly a very good movie. From the onset and towards the later part of the movie we are told of ten strangers who each encounter each other through a set reason, non of them knowing what it is.
The movie has a slow pace but picks up just before the end where everything is explained. Some good film work especially involving the outer raining sequences. A well developed and believable story with some minor 'bad' casting, in the case of Busey as one of the convicts. The ending was very well done and the final twist being up there with many movies that i can remember.
An enjoyable movie with some slow progress.
