Aliens (1986)
Almost Perfect
Paul Riser's terrible acting almost brings this movie down. He ruins every scene he's in except the one in which he dies. How the hell did he even get in this movie? Totally miscast.
I saw it upon release and 10 times since. I like it a little less after each viewing. Weaver is the only really good actor. I love Paxton though!
The Great Escape (1963)
UGGG!! ITS NOT GREAT!!
Why do people love this film? I don't know why. I think it's because they think they're supposed to like it. Kind of like Bridge on the River Kwai, both films are way too long and boring. If you think watching guys dig a tunnel for 3 hours is entertaining then this movie is for you. Oh it's great because Steve McQueen's in it and he rides a motorcycle! Oh its great because of the music! That music gets tiresome and annoying after a while, but hey it's The Great Escape and people are going to watch it no matter what I say. So have at it, enjoy your three hours of boredom.
Dial M for Murder (1954)
Not my favorite Hitchcock
Love Hitchcock and Grace Kelly, but not this film. First of all not a fan of Miland and second, who the heck would ever want to kill Grace Kelly? Milan brings the film down with his stiff acting and snobbery. Kelly's character would never marry him. Milans character should have died in the end for being so despicable! A must see film anyway.
To Die For (1995)
Don't understand bad reviews
Just want to say this movie has the best end credits roll ever, along with a great song! Bonus- Kidman before she ruined her looks with a face lift. Don't listen to the bad reviews.
20 Million Miles to Earth (1957)
Great memory
Saw this in metal shop (not sure why) in high school in the early 70s. I never forgot it, and tried to find it for 30 years! Finally saw it on TV one night (TCM?). All these memories of youth & high school came rushing back. What more can you ask for from a film plus it's really entertaining!
C'era una volta il West (1968)
DONT TELL ME ITS THE BEST, TELL ME ITS YOUR FAVORITE
Imagine how much better it would be if it was 30 minutes shorter. If I had seen this in a theater I would have fallen asleep or walked out. I agree it is a masterpiece. Just not one of my favorites.
La Brea (2021)
OMG this show is God awful!!
How is this still on the air? No one can like this show, they just tolerate it. I keep watching to how bad it will get. If this show gets renewed there's no hope for humanity.
Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964)
Scared little me stupid!
I was 8 years old when I saw this with my friend. When the hand got chopped off I ran as fast as could out of the theater. I remember it very clearly. Still hard to watch to this day.
The Wrath of God (1972)
Not Good
Would have never known that was Rita Hayworth if not for the credits. She looked really bad. The only reason I stayed to the end was because of the action. But the unbelievably fake blood even ruin that.
Resident Alien (2021)
Missed Opportunity
Had a hard time getting through all 10 episodes but I made it. Episode 8 was just bad. The last 2 were much better. The acting is good, it's the writing that lacks. I saw comparisons to Northern Exposure. Ha I wish! Don't know if I'll watch season 2.
Carnival of Souls (1962)
Soooooo over rated!!!
Don't understand the high reviews. This movie is so slow and boring. And the acting is terrible! It's obvious from the get go that she's dead. The only highlights are that beautiful organ and the old carnival house.
Snowpiercer (2020)
Miscast
Jennifer Connelly is terribly miscast, and very wooden in this role. Plus she's not aging well. But then again, no one could do better than Tilda Swinton! It's not very good overall but its serves as nightlight while I'm on my phone.
Silver Wings/Flying Dreams The Complete Story Of The Women Airforce Service Pilots (2015)
Great documentary
I saw this film at the Newport Beach Film Festival. I never knew that these women were in the United States Air Force during World War II. It's an amazing story. The showing I attended had a couple of the pilots there and the director. One of the pilots gave the director her silver wings for her appreciation of the film. It was a touching moment I'll never forget.
