The Black Stallion (1979)
Simply a masterpiece
I think that this film is probably the most visually beautiful film I have ever seen. It was shot over a two year period, (so I have been told) and it is a lesson on cinematography. If anyone out there ever wants to watch a film for composition and beauty, this is it! There is not a bad frame in this film.
The Odd Couple (1968)
Just Awesome
This film is something that I will always remember and always adore. I grew up on the hit series, (spawned from this film) and its hard to believe Hollywood cannot come close to making a classic comedy such as this film, but instead they copy themselves and remake garbage over and over again. Look harder guys, films like this that have not been produced are still out there.
A Sight for Sore Eyes (2004)
All We're Missing is Hugh Grant, Sandra Bullock & Kate Hudson
If this isn't an attempt to fall in line with the high-end romance players, I don't know what is. In the vain of "Two Weeks Notice", "How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days" and "Why You Were Sleeping", this film pretty much covers all the above mentioned story lines but thankfully creeps into some originality with the girl's handicap. Unlike most films in this genre, Sight wraps it up in less than half an hour (it's a short) and with its high production value and good storyline you can't help but wonder how & why the studios are shelling out 40-60 million dollars on these simple "puppy-love" type flicks. Oh, in this film they didn't have Hugh Grant, Sandra Bullock or Kate Hudson so, I guess that answers that.
