The Gift (2010)
A Wonderful Bit of Happiness
Can it ever be spoken that there are solutions to life to help people overcome the weary and the mundane? That is what Discover the Gift is all about. Demien Lichtenstein goes through a long journey to discover this new world of development. However, Demien's journey is not the only thing that happens. He goes through his journey and what it means for him to be self enlightened by this new way of thought. The movie is not entirely about him as well. Demien invites many other religious figures and spiritual leaders to add a word or two on the subject as well. People like His Holiness Dalai LamaI, Mark Victor Hansen, Niurka, Cheryl Hunter, Dr. Sue Morter, Sir Ken Robinson, David Wolfe, and Jack Canfield add a very complimentary commentary on the matter and make the presentation of the subject accessible to the ordinary people like me and you. The art work throughout the entire movie is absolutely breath taking as they use digital effects to create spectacular images of relaxation and to illustrate their points clearly. The best part of this movie is the touching story between Demien Lichtenstein and his sister, Shajen Joy Aziz. I really enjoyed Discover the Gift for its sentimentality and I think you will too.
Midnight Movie (2008)
Midnight Movie
This movie is awesome! The Killer Cut is so much better than the original. They were given so much more to work with when doing the Killer Cut like vamping up their main villain. They were able to go back and rework how some of the effects to make him look even more cruel. I really like how the smaller effects that were added strengthen the villain. Before he was just another monster, but now I think he is more distinguished as a character. Some of the things that I noticed in the new version as opposed to the original were the new scenes that they added. They added more footage to the movie to lengthen some scenes and simply add others. I noticed too that some scenes were missing. The scenes that were cut I think were great decisions because now the movie is more concise in its delivery of the story. I love how the progression of the movie is like a progression of the horror genre itself. This is seen in the violence and the gruesomeness of the film as it progresses. I like it because it's like a literary bow to films before it. I also love the music in the film. The music really makes the heart pump almost like a workout. I saw that it was awarded one of the top 100 scariest scores of all time by XM Radio and Cinemagic. This is a well done film that is worth watching.
