Cabin Fever (2002)
Horror? There is no villain!
We all like horror movies right? I pretty much go see anyone that comes out, love them. Slasher flicks, suspense, Sci-Fi you name it. There is generally a common thread amongst the really good ones, the villain, whether perceived or actual, is scary. At first look this one has all the hints of a good movie; it has gore, hot chicks, guns, creepy woods, and even rednecks! How can it go wrong you ask? Well, it has no villain. Just some contagious flesh eating virus. Ooooo... Cover my eyes, I can't watch.
There are some ethical, samaritan implications to the characters in the movie, which is probably why the critics dug this movie. But really I don't care, and I didn't care about the characters either. There are some obvious comparisons to "28 Days Later...", but this movie never reached that level of spookdom.
Catch this on a matinee, or wait for video. Save your money for a horror movie that has actual horror.
Highway (2002)
Watchable.
Watched this late one night cuz nothing else was on. It was watchable with few memorable parts. I think the director wanted you to feel some of the lostness that Pilot is feeling, but I didn't. The best character in the show was definately John C. Mcginley's character, very funny. Jared Leto's character started out entertaining but when downhill from there. This is something to watch when can't find anything else though, to say I enjoyed it would be a stretch, but I didn't dislike it.
Trance (1998)
Ugh.
Yikes did this movie blow. The characters were weak, the plot weaker. I figured this couldn't be too bad because it has Christoper Walken, oops. He must have done this because he was bored and needed the money. The characters were supposed to be Irish but noone had an Irish accent. I am desperately trying to find something nice about this, I can't except Walken did a fine job with a wooden character. Find something to read, or watch discovery, don't ever see this movie.
