Andor (2022– )

Started brilliant and keeps getting better!
9 November 2022
This is by far the best Star Wars Show that has ever been made and probably will be on the foreseeable future. Story, Visual, Creativity are absolutely perfect. Some people might argue this show is something else with a Star Wars backdrop, given what we have seen the last few years with the exception of The Mandalorian, this is a good thing.

Andor is dark, Andor is gritty, Andor is intelligent and it uses zero humor to keep you watching, it uses character building instead and does that by hiring a perfect cast that can act. Diego Luna (Andor) carries this show with ease, there are dozens of Easter eggs in each episode which allows you to rewatch an episode and find out new things every time you do it.

I believe the horrible and unnecessary Obi Wan Show gave people the idea that Star Wars shows shouldn't be watched anymore, they are wrong, watch, enjoy it and tell your friends. Apparently Disney has cut the first Season from 16 episodes to 12 and has renewed it for a new season.

Blockbuster (2022)

Missed Opportunity
6 November 2022
The script doesn't match the premise, it isn't very funny because it is written for a wrong audience and the characters have no character and lack any quirkiness a show like this desperately needs.

After the "Buy More" from "Chuck" and Superstore the developers had a pretty decent blue print how to write a show like this but they have utterly failed in any aspect. For some reasons they are using this retro promise to appeal to a younger audience, many of whom don't even know what Blockbuster is anymore.

This Series would have needed an older cast who are all a bit 80ies retro who constantly drop easter eggs in their lines from Movie Classics and give the viewer some sort of vibe of the past while the younger cast is battling them and loses in the end, the show would have had a routine that works before the comedy even starts.

Creator Vanessa Ramos literally was the story editor at Superstore and wrote 20 episodes for Brooklyn99, how is it even possibly that she fails so hard?

Sorry the show is really bad, 5 stars is very generous.

Typical Fake Premise Network Show
24 July 2022
Apparently NBC hasn't learned a thing over the years. Another promising premise in the title that will be ignored for 95% of the entire running time of a season. Instead NBC believes it still makes sense to see uninteresting people doing uninteresting stuff, turning it into a soap opera just to give us a cliff hanger that is based on the actual promise but stands in no relation with the 38 boring minutes of the episode. It's pretentious and I am sure a lot of people love this predictable "routine shows" but when I sign up for Mystery I don't want Soap Opera.

Good documentary that was released too late
18 July 2022
This documentary is well made, with fantastic camera work and a glossy look to it where it is needed. It follows the Trump family on the campaign trail. If this would have been released 1 year after Trumps coup attempt it would have been shocking and upsetting but unfortunately for the film makers it was released just after the shocking revelations of Cassidy Hutchinson and was therefore lacking anything new or shocking.

Better than you think!
9 July 2022
After watching the final episode I wanted to read up on some of the characters and I was honestly stunned by the unreasonable low score. Boo Bitch is better as you think after watching the trailer and reading the plot outline. The two main actresses had a great chemistry and even when Episode 6 and 7 were bad an unnecessary, the final episode made up for it.

I am honestly annoyed by children throwing a tantrum by down voting a show they have watched 20 minutes.

I believe it is an enjoyable show for all ages, it will not go down in history but it is certainly entertaining enough with an end worth watching.

Proper Ending
25 January 2022
I was worried when I saw the 4.4 Rating. Turns out that extremely popular movies and Series have very unreliable ratings nowadays because these emotionally wrecks of reviewers throw 1 star ratings at good and entertaining content.

The show airs one week later where I live and I expected the absolute worst. It was one hell of an exciting episode and there were multiple options to end this series, the way this went down step by step was probably the most proper one.

An Accurate Snapshot of Today
24 December 2021
This will be a short review.

The movie is absolutely brilliant, it uses satire to hold a mirror in front of all of us. At the time the movie was written they couldn't even know how precise the metaphor will hit the nail on the head.

This was one hell of a smart movie about a common enemy, not everyone is interested to acknowledge the enemy, once the enemy is visible for everyone, they tell you that the other party wants you to see it, so don't look at it. Science versus Opinion, Greed over Safety. Obnoxious shot callers etc... this movie is based on real life events.

Great 1st Season - Spectacular 2nd Season
18 December 2021
After a really decent and entertaining first seasons, they really took it to new levels in Season 2. They have expanded the character base massively and therefore the entire Witcher-Universe which allows them to go into many directions after Season 3. It's quite the bold move because people who haven't played the games or read the books will be confused at parts. The Spin-Off Series Blood Origins will most likely fill in some of the missing pieces. Since Gamers and Book Readers have become the biggest drag in this review section I would like to tell everyone who is familiar with the source material, that the show still follows the lead, however it is a stand alone TV Show and not a remake and they are very good at that.

Marvel needed a win after Eternals
24 November 2021
Marvel needed this win after Eternals turned out to be a hot mess and a flop at the box office.

Even when the story of Hawkeye is set at a slow pace I was stunned how fast each episode was over, I felt extremely entertained. People always try to make lame arguments when things don't go 100% by their expectations and would give it a 1 start review. This is a funny story with 2 fantastic actors and an interesting support cast, visually Hailee Steinfeld is the perfect Kate Bishop and I believe she was requested by fans. I am extremely pleased with the result and I am sure that fans of the comicas have very little to complain.

Amazing Comedy on Paper
8 November 2021
Amazing Comedy on Paper OMG what a cast, this gotta be great... wrong... it was overacted, even for britisch standards... the humor was as old as Liz Hurleys Wonderbra... Short and simple this is a bad movie and only a few people will appreciate it.

Thank You for 6 Wonderful Seasons
26 October 2021
Lucifer was one of these shows that never took it self too serious and with this spirit they have managed to create loveable characters played by a wonderful cast. Almost every single episode was such a fresh breeze of air.

A worthy ending.. well done!

24 October 2021
This is my first time ever 1 star review.

Horrible characters that are supposed to carry the show Slow paced dialogues that have absolutely nothing to do with the storyline but fulfill all racial stereotypes.

After 3hours the viewer knows less as when he started.

Worst show on Apple, it is so bad it almost made me angry.

Funny and also Unbearable
22 October 2021
I make this a short review.

Season 1 is fantastic, it is new it is fresh and it is funny. It almost had a bit of an Al Bundy vibe in particular scenes. Season 2 ceased to be fresh and funny half way through, Season 3 was absolute torture to see stupid people giving speeches and pretending they know stuff. That might have been funny in 2016 or 2017 not when actual stupid people who live in an alternate reality give speeches on TV.. not after an actual pandemic. Season 3 is packed with filler episodes and constant nonsensical rambling, they must have realized it mid season and might a time jump to stop all the story arches. Season 4 started okay and then it continued to be nonsensical rambling.

On a week to week basis this show might be less annoying but when you attempt to binge watch it I dare you to endure Kristen Schaal for longer than 2 hours rambling on about unimportant things. It's horror.

I skipped 8 episodes to the grand finale, the show ends with a Cliffhanger therefore I strongly recommend to anyone who attempts to watch this: stop the moment the 2 main characters start to annoy you, it won't get better from there.

Ignore the predictable Book Reader Complaints.
25 September 2021
Foundation is a visually stunning if not overwhelming series, with a smart script and really engaging story telling. The story is as relevant as it gets... Science vs Believes. They couldn't have released the series at the better point in time. No I haven't read the books and therefore I am watching it for what it is, an entertaining and visually fantastic story. If book readers want a copy of the book then maybe they should stick to the books instead of giving 1 Star reviews the minute the show went online.

People who haven't read the books will love it.

Appropriate Ending for the Gallaghers - not for the viewers
18 May 2021
Season 11 wasn't a strong season and it is a good thing the series came to an end.

The Gallaghers always had many opportunities to turn their lives around and always ended up doing something stupid to prevent it.

The viewers probably were hoping for a more flashy ending that involves weeks of crying after the episode aired but this is not FRIENDS, it is SHAMELESS and so the writers, who were exhausted towards the end, made sure they stick to the script and delivered a decent ending that might not be the best for TV.

Best Super Hero Movie of all times!
18 March 2021
I did not expect this at all, when I heard they are doing the Snyder Cut I thought to myself "how can he make this hot mess any better" What can I say after Justice League the awful Wonder Woman 84 the DC Universe is well alive, Henry Cavil is Superman, Wonder Woman works if it's directed by a grown up.... Thank you Zack Snyder for this amazing movie. Best Super Hero Movie of all times.

Plot hole Extravaganca
19 February 2021
To me it looks like this movie already reached a significant budget and the studio realized this will be a straight to VDO Release. Scenes that would have been essential to make sense out key parts of the movie are missing. I starts great, gets a bit goofy once arrive in 1984, stays interesting and goofy for a while and then it happens, one plot hole follows the next one to a point where the entire movie collapses into a hot mess that made absolutely no sense on multiple levels at the same time. The last 25 Minutes I wasn't sure if I hadn't skipped a couple of minutes by accident. There been CGI Faux Pas like you wouldn't even see them in fan movies. The story was absolute nonsense and inconsistent as a theory, it was horribly executed and whoever approved 1) the script 2) this movie should not have a job anymore.

Brilliant, Authentic and Thorough
12 February 2021
Before people watch this movie they must know what to expect, when you read Zendaya and John David Washington assuming the leading roles, one should know they are the only actors in the movie. Sam Levinson showed with Euphoria already that he is bold and unafraid to be authentic. Levinson spoke with Zendaya daily about Euphoria during the pandemic, they were bored to be shut down and decided to make a movie, Covid-Friendly at Zendayas house. Apparently he already wrote half of the script for Washington before he even asked him if he was on board. The result is stunning, amazing and brilliant and absolutely thorough and beyond. This film is definitely not for everyone, it will make people feel uncomfortable, it will bore some people and it will excite those willing to sink in.

Levinson transformed a former Disney Teen into a serious actress with Euphoria, she is extremely good in this show but never gets to showcase her range, in Malcolm and Marie he lets her off the leash, worked parts of her Euphoria character in, created even an easter egg scene and whoever is still on board after 45 minutes will be impressed with her Oscar Performance. The same goes for Washington, a brilliant and unafraid delivery from the first to the last scene.

The Dialogues are familiar and surprising and shockingly thorough, we all have been in their shoes more often as we want to and exactly that made this movie so interesting. With attention to the detail you will love it.

Unworthy Finale
20 May 2019
I loved Season 8 it was spectacular. Characters were never broken as many people believe, people are ought to be judged by their actions, not their words and not their good looks. Having said that, the finale was unsatisfying in every single regard and not worthy of this great show.

The Mad Queen has Arrived
13 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Apparently some people are in shock and give emotional ratings to the episode and call it bad writing etc. Wrong it was long foreshadowed in Season 2 during Daenery's Visions / Nightmares, it clearly showed Kings Landing in Ashed and her walking past the throne, it even had monstrous spiders hanging from the ruins. She is the daughter of the Mad King after all. She had many inconsistencies during the last 7 seasons, she has been brutal and unforgiving before. The stage was set and it was the very first predictable Game of Thrones Episode ever. Maybe She is just too cute and lovable to play this role in it's entirety, i am shocked that that people are shocked. What has been shown on Episode 5 was TV history, it was the best directed, best executed and most spectacular piece of TV ever aired. If people want to honor that with a 1 Star rating they can't be taken serious.

Insatiable (2018–2019)
10/10
Netflix tricked them all.
17 August 2018
Based on the trailer there was a petition signed by 220,000 people who protested against the show because they thought it would be about fat shaming. Bascially people didn't want to see what was inside and judged based on appeareances, nobody wanted to look inside, they rather bullied what they don't know. CLever manipulation from Netflix, gotta give them that.

Insatiable is clever, wild and all over the place and definitely genuine, it is probably one of the most contemporary series right now because there is not a single social issue they don't visually agressive rub into the viewers face.

The story is fast paced and never gets boring each character has a purpose and is perfectly developed which becomes quite important towards the last few episodes. I have to admit that I was laughing a lot and gringed a lot because they don't want to be political correct, the series wants to provoke the viewer which is done with so much cleverness because they let us fall in love with each single character before they confront us with a hot topic. Responses will be wild to this show, I can't wait to read them all, especially from those who gave a 1 star rating the second the show was online.

Surprisingly Accurate and Entertaining
25 May 2018
I went to a special screening 1 day before the release, the movie was almost empty which is why I am not surprised about some reviews here who clearly haven't seen the movie. I too had my doubts that they would be able to make such an iconic character work with a different actor. I was afraid that the cast was too distracting from the story. It was a great movie that turned out to be in no way as chronical that most people were afraid of. Ron Howard did a great job by telling a story for non Star Wars Freaks and engage all the nerds and freaks who are very familiar with the lore and the Clone Wars Series and Rebels Series by dropping Easter eggs all over the place. Han Solo was always the character for comical relief therefore it is a funny movie with great action scenes, amazing animatronics and a decent story.

If real Star Wars fans can't appreciate the first meeting of future allies in the original movies what does make them happy?

Mother! (2017)

A Look Into The Mirror for the Audience
18 December 2017
Mother! Is one of the most accurate movies created in years. Unfortunately, it features Jennifer Lawrence and that attracts an audience that is not capable of understanding what they are seeing, they don't understand that they are looking into a mirror for 2 hours.

I have read a couple of angry 1-star reviews and basically all it did was making the movie better. Most people believe; when there is a house, when there is blood and when there is an attractive woman it must be a horror movie and they keep watching for 2 hours and will be completely disappointed because it is not a horror movie at all, it doesn't try to be.

Mother! Is a movie about our society, entitlement, the environment, egoism, religion and many more.

The entire movie is a metaphor expressed in symbolism and here is the problem for the mainstream audience? They are waiting for THE shock moment in this "horror house" while they are just being told that their infinite sense of entitlement and their lack of manners and respect is destroying society and our planet. In fact one reviewer wrote that he only created an account to destroy this bad "horror movie"

Some might think the director overindulged in the symbolism because it goes beyond any logic and reality which is exactly what our world has become, the masses of people with an infinite sense of entitlement or disrespect towards others and their carelessness about our planet goes beyond comprehension, they beat you in the face everyday and there is nothing you can do about people who don't have the tools to understand their wrong doings.

If you accept the movie with an open mind, if you understand the symbolism it will leave you heavy breathing.

Each and every 1-star rating on this site is an emotional unstable outrage of a person who didn't understand what they were seeing. Jennifer Lawrence is laying down the best performance in her career so far, after all she is Mother "Earth" and the way she is acting the purity and the fragileness of the untouched earth in the first minutes of the movie is nothing but perfect. A movie needs to be rated by all it's aspects, unfortunately, and if you watch this film closely, there is only black and white left, no more shades of grey, 1 star or 10 stars, good or bad.

Sense8 (2015–2018)
9/10
Hit Show with a slow start (Full Season 1 Review)
6 June 2015
Sense8 is well but written but the slow beginning will hurt the show's reputation massively. Season One would have been a powerful success if it was only 10 episodes long and the first 4 episodes were trimmed together into 1 hour. Other than the slow start you are in for a treat. Unlike "Lost" "Sense8" actually means to say something and brings the point across. The series builds up its mysteries slowly but answers are always subtly hidden in the plot (or in the props).

The Wachowski brothers send us on a trip to follow 8 separate story lines that are connected by a supernatural phenomenon. Not all 8 characters are likable but all have their rightful place in the story. The casting director must have a teeth fetish because nearly 50% of the entire cast has at least 1 tooth in the front that is displaced. I found that weird. Also weird and really hard to take in is Jamie Clayton as Nomi, a post op transsexual with a voice so dark she could narrate action movie trailers, while the voice is distracting it fits the character and since tolerance is a prominent part of the shows concept it becomes less distracting halfway into Season 1. The problem with Miss Clayton's performance is that she is trying to be an authentic human being and that lacks pronunciation, phrasing and everything else that is required for a proper delivery.

The LGBT story lines (yes plural) will make many people in the USA take out their crucifixes and bibles to perform an exorcism on the content they are watching on TV. I like the fact that the Wachowskis been bold enough to take this risk, or better said... they are making intolerant people turn off their TV's, they don't want them as an audience.

Nevertheless Sense8 excites with its story, with its camera work and with the finger print of high class directors on each filming location. We learn the differences of different cultures and how goals in life can be different depending on the country you grow up.

Whoever saw the trailer would expect a mash-up of Heroes and Lost, it's neither of that and I was asking myself if they did themselves a favor by misrepresenting the show in the previews. Heroes was fantastic mainstream television for at least 2 seasons and the success of LOST was a mystery by itself considering that 80% of it was just a pretentious attempt to create mystery. Sense8 is different, it is not about people with special abilities, it is not about secrets followed by secrets and a secret button that needs to be pushed, Sense8 has 8 characters and follows them through life while they are learning to increase their potential in their lives through the other sensates.

Do not judge the show after the pilot, do not watch the show if you can't stand lesbians, gays or transsexuals and graphic sexual content and lots of cliché. Watch the show if you are open minded and want your mind to be blown open even wider. For me this show started to become interesting after episode 4, I believe most people will not hang around for that long which is sad because the show is a hit.

The Leftovers (2014–2017)
3/10
Excruciatingly Horrific Writing and Cast
6 July 2014
So there was this trailer on TV, "by the writer of Lost" and I was all excited but when the show was 5 minutes in I remembered that I hated LOST because they put a bunch of nonsense and pseudo clues together and tried to tie it up in the end somehow.

Now this show does just that but this time with a terrible cast, horrific writing which transports the useless boredom of an interesting plot straight into your emotional center so you want to scratch your eyes out.

The show is called "The Leftovers" and if it would be about the leftovers from a feast about a chicken drum stick rotting in the sun with one continuous shot over 10 episodes it would have better writing, better acting and a better story. The Leftovers is clearly referring to the writing staff or maybe for the drugs they used on the Warner and HBO execs to make them sign on this show. All I know for a fact is that this series will never get a 2nd season because it is that bad.

I give it 3 stars because it contains professional work such as the HBO Logo in the beginning and the camera work was done by a human but everything else feels like Michael Bay directing a romantic comedy.
