Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)

A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT & WASTED TIME

I can only imagine how bad the original Justice League was (not going to watch it to find out) if this was the "improvement."

A 2 hour movie stretched to 4 hours.

Dull, boring, looked like a TV show at times, way overlong, had to force myself to watch it to the end.

Marvel has nothing to worry about.

Not up to the original BBC series (Season 4 coming in 2022) but it will do in the meantime. Most of the BBC stories have been Americanized so hopefully the writing will continue to improve.

Grodin ⭐⭐ Simon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Grodin was a one shtick "talent." Boring & Clueless was his thing. I never understood why any producer/director/actor he worked with didn't kill him. Can't remember one thing he ever did that made me want to see him again.

Being There (1979)

SELLERS AT HIS BEST

Other than Dr. Strangelove, Sellers' best performance. The outtakes at the end should never have been included, almost ruining a perfect ending. Do yourself a huge favor and don't watch past the final scene.

The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)

One of my all time favorites

First saw this with my 8 year old buddies when released in 1957. So many B movies about atomic bombs and radiation. Good special effects for the time. Scary spider and cat action. Saw it again today, 64 years later in 2021 and I remembered every scene. Still holds up pretty well.

The Princess Bride (1987)

DISAPPOINTED

Finally got around to watching this. Expected great things based on its cult status. Avoided many times just because I dislike Patinkin. Still dislike, unfortunately. It became available for free, so finally decided to try it. I probably would have liked it more when it came out. It seems a too familiar type now, a bit stale because it's now been redone and better. Just not my cup of tea, I guess.

The people saying that this movie is boring or slow or disappointing wouldn't know a good drama if it jumped up and bit them on their BACK. No, this not Bond, Bourne, Mission Impossible, or any other action flick, and it's not meant to be. This is a well done examination of a hit man in the vein of Léon The Professional or even The Godfather. I'm not comparing them, but they are all movies that make you think, not just settle for chases, shootouts, and mind-numbing dialogue. It's challenging, and if that's not your cup of tea then don't bother to watch this one. Exceptional acting by all!

Better The Second Time Around

I watched MIB 3 for the second time today and it was well worth the second chance for this movie. I never got to see it in 3D, but I'm not really sure that would be better or worse. The special effects are all good. I had previously rated this at 7 stars, but upgraded it this time to 9. Josh Brolin did a great job as the young Kay and Tommy Lee Jones as always came through with an excellent performance. Will Smith carries the movie, of course, doing Jay at his best. Don't believe any of the negative reviews (professional reviewers or others on IMDb). Make up your own mind about this one, and keep an open mind about time travel and all of its problems. And for goodness sake, remember this is just a movie and will not be perfect! Be entertained and enjoy!
