The X-Files: The Unnatural (1999)
Season 6, Episode 19
10/10
Standout episode
19 August 2015
In the 90's I really didn't watch any TV so I am still sort of catching up now by binge watching. The series is decent, lots of fun and compelling story lines but the Unnatural is so far my favorite episode. The acting was great, the writing was great(I am told that David Duchovny actually wrote it????????) and the twist was nicely done and not too hokey. The friendship between Exley and Dales rival that of Mulder and Scully and that is saying something. This was the first episode that I wished had been longer. I am hoping there will be more episodes like this in the next 3 seasons if not then maybe in the upcoming miniseries.

Warning: Spoilers
I was so excited for this, started first thing on 4/10 but really the story and scenes are so slow, like Agents of Shield slow. I don't understand why everyone is freaking out over it. Almost all of the action scenes are in the dark(are they great, are they lame, who knows????) and they are over before you know it. The few jokes are eye-rollers and there is a scene with Fisk and a date at dinner that goes on forever, I got distracted and forgot I was even watching the show until the explosion. To be fair I am only half way through episode 7, it is possible it will get better but I will probably not waste my time finishing, there are so many other shows on my list. D'Onofrio and Woll were excellent.

Same thing over and over

Warning: Spoilers
In a relationship, not in a relationship, back in a relationship. Having a baby, not having a baby, having a baby. Married, getting a divorce, together again, divorcing again and so on. That is basically the story. To be fair I am binge watching but boy is it tedious. Seems like they could have done more with the characters, I wanted to like the show really so it is really kind of disappointing. The acting is good, a few episodes star a young Hugh Dancy and Stephen Moyer, so it is interesting from that stand point. The parents don't really seem to be with their children much, the one couple has a nanny but the other one doesn't. There are definitely funny moments and a few moments that make it feel like not a huge loss of time.
