Great Take on the Transformers Universe
5 July 2011
I find this series to be a great take on the Transformers universe. Both Autobot's and Decepticon's are greatly equal in strength, and it has a more realistic atmosphere with being darker than the previous Universes.

The voice acting is done wonderfully, and it's great to see Peter and Frank in their original roles. Something that G1 never had was the power that this one does. Of course, we know being an 80's cartoon for kids, there were obvious set backs for that reason. Some debate on the fact that Prime isn't a kids show, but I believe with the world today, it suits well for children to realise consequence and death, and it's a bonus for us older fans.

Visually, I think this series has it all. Great designs, and great CGI (for a cartoon). The character development is well portrayed, and, of course, they link back to their original 80's personalities.

Overall, I think it's by far the best series up to date, aside from G1--but that's because it's the ultimate classic.

Bayfail for anyone who enjoys movies for more than explosions
30 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The beginning of this movie offers a little hope that there may be a great story line, but low and behold, in cometh the M.Bay wrecking ball. The plot is decent as an overall view but fails when it comes to each individual 'bot. Megatron acting like a deranged fat drunk that wanders the back allies is not the most picturesque picture of a leader. He looks to have added 40 tonnes to his build. Aside from that, he is a groveling coward that lets Sentinel Prime take over leadership without a fight. Shockwave has been portrayed to be the main villain in every promo but appears throughout the entire 2.5 hour film for a maximum of 5 minutes. The Decepticon character Igor (really x_x) serves absolutely no purpose at all. You only see the 'cons kill one Autobot in the entire film. Please inform me as to how an entire army of 'cons could not dispatch more than one enemy through the entire battle? 'Cons were also supposed to have won the war on Cybertron. I don't think they could have done that by not killing anyone. Cliché as is the fact that every villain (Decepticon) cannot kill ANYONE. Autobots have been portrayed as ultimate Godmoders that could kill the flies off a rhino's butt on the other side of the planet while the 'cons must have bullets made of marshmallows. The only villain that is top stuff is an Autobot turned bad. EVERY 'con has a pitiful death that is un-climatic and extremely quick. This is true aside for Starscream's long death which was made for laughs.

The only good side of this movie was the visuals. The special effects are top notch.

Overall the rating is: A for special effects C- for the plot D-/F for character development/deaths

Its a good movie to see if you like sexual imagery and explosions but nothing more.
