Good idea ruined
17 August 2017
When this show started, it was great!!! I enjoy quite a bit the episodes circa 2012 (and thereabouts) with hosts Jonny Moseley, Angela Sun, and Iseman. That's lean meat, no fat.

The producers and et al wanted this show to gain popularity. This show has gotten obnoxious as a result of their efforts.

I tune in to watch athletes do crazy stunts and wow me with their athleticism. THAT'S WHY I WATCH. Nowadays, half the show is sappy backstories. There are 4 minute long back stories of each athlete. It's about the athlete working with mentally disabled people, losing family members by death, doing the ninja course for cancer, et cetera.

If these lame stories were 20 seconds long, it'd be tolerable. But no, they are literally at least four minutes each. Then on top of that, lots of commercials.

This show was a 9 out of 10, before it got ruined. I give it 4 out of 10.

David Letterman's Show SUCKS!

David Letterman's Show SUCKS!

I don't find it very funny. Jokes are stale. He spends a lot of time just talking about nothing: Like he'll say he'll do the top 10 list, and then he'll get into (what is supposedly a 'funny') conversation with Paul Shaffer for like 5 minutes, then he'll finally get back around to the top list. Lame!!

Paul Shaffer is not a good side-kick/bandleader! His musical 'talents' are not entertaining. "Annoying" is the best adjective to describe him.

That red haired announcer guy, Alan, is not funny.

In the past, Biff Henderson goes on road trips that were entertaining.. but the latest ones I've seen they have been BLAH!

They ran out of good ideas for the "Will It Float?" and the "Is This Anything?" already.

The deli sideshow has been overdone too often. and they're so boring! It seems to be like Rupert is always doing the show a favor or something.. u know.. not like he is enjoying that little deli segment.

That's my criticism. And you read it. Cool.

Let Me Be The First American To Comment
12 November 2003
I live by the US/Canada border and CBC is on one of the channels I receive. Every once in a while when I channel surf, I come across This Hour Has 22 Minutes. When I watch it, I really do try to look for the humor. Sometimes, there is. A lot of times, there isn't. About half of their jokes revolve America. "Lets make fun of the Americans!"

The Jokes Are Just Not Funny! I am not stating that only because I am a proud, patriotic American who is taking offense. Not at all. I watch many of our American comedy talk shows (such as Jay Leno), where most of the jokes are about our dumb politicians. We know just how dumb they are, and I'll have you know that we can make fun of them ourselves. And do a better, funnier job of it, too. What I want to know is: why aren't there more jokes about Canada and England? Is America just easier to crack jokes at?

I suppose the Canadian commentators were right - it's not something Americans can understand.

Boy Meets World (1993–2000)
Teen Drama or Comedy?
12 November 2003
In the early days of Boy Meets World the show consisted of Cory and Shawn being young elementary students living their childish lives and hating the usual things boys sterotypically hate those years - girls, the principal, and school. It was also a really funny, wholesome family comedy.

As the years progressed it got to be more of a drama, than a comedy. We got to see how Cory and Topanga fell in love, and Shawn finding his father and a love of his own. The series switched genres from how and where it started out. However, it did not switch completely, which was a crime committed.

The show still had some humor in the later seasons featuring the characters in their now adolescent stage of life, and it also attempted a lot of drama/emotional-touchy-feely-trying-to-make-the-viewer cry parts.. all in ONE 22 minute episode!!

I don't know about you, but the way I am: If it's a drama, I'll be compose myself strong enough to take the seriousness of the heartbreaking/happiness. If it's a comedy, I won't take anything very seriously and look for the humor in the characters' goofiness. 30 MINUTES IS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR BOTH! It goes from one extreme to another with not enough space/storyline to lead the viewer into the swing. A romantic comedy that is 2 hours long can accomplish this quite well, but not a 22 minute Boy Meets World episode. 3/5

It was decent
21 September 2003
This conversion from the hit high school series to the college years was a great idea! For one, there aren't very many tv shows exclusively for college dorm room settings. And for two, it also had a more grown up storyline than the high school series. The ppl who went to high school while they were in high school and are now in college with these characters as they are in college are growing up together. It demonstrates how these characters are evolving into educated young adults. Certainly the new theme took a toll on the comedy that the high school series was famous more. The College Years tried to have more adult situations (diverse situations in the after-high-school life college students may find themselves in, like who to date, for example), which are very difficult to make funny.. and are mostly that have those plots are more like dramas and soap operas. The maturing to adulthood theme was a nice (chronological) fit for fans of the show who followed the series.
