Falling Apart (2002 TV Movie)
powerful, realistic, and sad
8 June 2004
I saw this movie and could not believe how effectively it handled the enormous topic of domestic abuse.

It follows the marriage of two grown adults. The woman is a strong person but tries to hold onto a marriage with a man who is extremely abusive both emotionally and physically.

The abuse starts off subtly and gradually increases. It takes the form of criticism, verbal abuse, yelling, hitting, long absences, mind manipulation.

The scenes are very intense, the acting is incredible, and the impact is great.

I would strongly recommend this movie to anybody who wants to understand domestic abuse. It is very accurate in its portrayal and it has commentary from both the man and the woman during the course of the marriage on how they perceive what is going on between them.

Excellent. 10/10.
