Iron Man (2008)
7/10
Really Surprised Me!!!!
14 September 2011
I usually hate Superhero movies, most of the times for the same reason: they don't seem believable. And that's a great thing about Iron Man, it involves only technology, so you'd believe stuff from the movie could happen in 50 or 100 years.

The storyline is really well written, too. It begins when Tony Stark, a rich, playboy guy who owns a weapon industry, ends up as a hostage by terrorists using the same weapons he developed. When he manages to escape, he decides to destroy all weapons he created.

Another remarkable thing about the movie is the acting, Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow have great chemistry together, and their romance, even though seems as if it was between ten years old kids because of their constant arguments, is really exciting and fun. Robert's character is really likable even though he's a total jerk, you feel as you actually wanted to be him.

Well, that's pretty much it, so even if you don't like superhero movies, give this one a try, you might like it.

Supernatural (2005–2020)
I lovED this show.
7 August 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I'd give the first season 10/10. The second 9.5/10. The third 9/10. The fourth 8.5/10. The fifth 8/10. Then the sixth... 4/10.

The show started out as something new, original and very entertaining. It was even scary rarely. Not really great acting, because the two main actors are just supposed to attract girls to the show, but Jensen and Jared are actually satisfying.

Right in the second season, some minor problems started showing up, lack of original ideas. Then came the third... And the monsters started becoming more human, and less mysterious. In the fourth season demons were just "bad guys", they looked as if they were mob or something. Same goes for the fifth season.

The SIXTH season... Oh, the horror!!! There was NO storyline for it, the show was SUPPOSED to end in the fifth season, there was no real motive for the freaking sixth season!!! Every episode was a dull filler, with the exception of the last episode. I'm only hoping the series will go back to having it's former glory, and stop anthropomorphizing MONSTERS.

The Mentalist (2008–2015)
Great series, seems as if it was a mix between House and Sherlock Holmes.
7 August 2011
The main character of the series, Patrick Jane, is a detective, and former "mentalist", that uses his extremely high intellect and people- reading skills to help the police.

While sometimes it may seem as Patrick is somewhat cheerful, he's cynical and tormented by his past. Years before joining the police, he worked as psychic, and used to make money by lying to his clients. One day though, he went on a talk show and made comments about a serial killer, "Red John", but that enraged the man, which made him kill Patrick's wife and daughter. After that, he decided to stop deceiving people and use his "powers" to arrest murderers.

Simon Baker's acting is pretty good (and somewhat inspired by House), and the storyline is kinda like a lot of clichés glued together, but it actually fits. The supporting cast is pleasant and charismatic, and there's a lot of chemistry between Simon Baker and Robin Tunney.

Most of the episodes consists in a murder, some weird or controversial back story (as aliens or clowns) and Patrick using his skills to make people angry and reveal the truth. Most of the first or last episodes of the season is related to the main antagonist, Red John.

Bottom Line: awesome series, with some minor flaws as some episodes being eventually dull.
