The Walking Dead: The Grove (2014)

So here I am, hanging at the flat . . .

So here I am, hanging at the flat, no job (a horror in and of itself, speaking out on what I'm about to speak of), so plenty of (not-so-)free time, watching Episode 14 of Season 4, and the most horrific thing, the most mind-numbing, heart-throttling event yet, in a show that brings horror to a new level every single episode, this thing just happened, as psychologically abhorrent in its innocence as anything could possibly be. Kudos to the "Dead" crew, but, whoah, just whoah . . . .

Bates Motel: Nice Town You Picked, Norma... (2013)

Uh . . .

. . . up into the second episode of the first season. But could this thing be any more chock-a-bloc full of false notes? Vera and Freddy are excellent, as is much of the cast, if not all (haven't really paid that much attention to the other characters so far), but the sequence of events and the dialog supporting said events, seem rather, what's the word? Ridiculous? I'll give at least through the first season, anyway, 'cause of the two main leads and the overall apparent story line. Still, what the, you know, that word.

"What motivated Ryan? What fueled him?"

Warning: Spoilers
Somewhere near the beginning of Episode 12, "The Curse," Purefoy's Joe is shown having writer's block while trying to pen his great tome. The frustration he expresses at his keyboard had me wondering if this was the kind of torment that the screen writers of this drivel, which should have been named "The Sillier Killers of Peyton Place," went through for each line of crap they came up with to put Kevin Bacon's future career many degrees away from success.

But before subjecting myself to Episode 13, I felt compelled to view Episode 1 of "Banshee" Season 2, aired for the first time here this very evening on Cinemax Taiwan (which is now showing at this particular moment between flicks a preview of Lynch's "Wild at Heart"), despite the contrived conveniences of "Banshee" Season 1. Now after having watched "Banshee" Season 2 Episode 1, I can confirm that the contrivances meant apparently to move the plot along have not ended, but this show is still a kazillion times better than "The Following," which is so bad that it comes no where near to falling into the category of "So Bad It's Good."
