A Mrs. Miracle Christmas (2021)
A new Mrs Miracle? YES!!!
I wondered how they'd ever be able to replace Doris Roberts as Mrs Merkle. Doris was so PERFECT. I miss her and missed that kind of movie.
WELL THEY FOUND A WONDERFUL NEW MERKLE. Caroline Rhea is spectacular as Gloria Merkle ! It was heartwarming and Caroline was fabulous. Paula Shaw as the Grandmother was perfect. (I love her in all of her Hallmark Movies).
I had started out with the Hallmark Christmas 2022 Season with a couple of Duds. BUT! Each of the last few (I am good for at least 20 movies per season) have been excellent.
A lot of the Hallmark Fave Actors jumped to GAC which was tough but they kept a few of my faves.
I rate my Hallmark Movies by whether or not they make me cry with joy at the end! This is a 10 for happiness and joy factor. A MUST WATCH.
Christmas Bedtime Stories (2022)
Don't bother. Too long and goes nowhere.
As a PROFESSIONAL HALLMARK CHRISTMAS MOVIE WATCHER, This is definitely NOT your typical feel good Hallmark Christmas Movie. I wish I had NOT wasted my time. I watch at least 20 of these per season. I always rate then at the end so that the following year, I will remember whether or not I have watched it. (Between Hallmark & Lifetime, I'm sure they must have 50 new movies every year!).
I watch these for their sappy sugary HAPPY endings where the Girl gets the Boy or Vice Versa. I truly like both of the main actors but this time it wasn't a good match. I don't think it was them- it was the story itself. Just TOO SAD and didn't go anywhere. IN FACT, I THOUGHT I MISSED THE ENDING THAT I REWOUND IT ... there was no ending.
Outer Range (2022)
The first 2 episodes were GREAT....THEN.... :(
The first 2 episodes were fabulous laying down the wild story. It had a story. I started at a solid 9!
Then they dropped 2 more episodes 2 weeks later. The story at that point is now becoming too many stories. Down to a 6.
By the 3rd set of 2 episodes that came out this week, there's too much going on that doesn't match up with any storyline. I actually thought the series was only 6 episodes. So when it ended tonight with an episode of nonsense I thought WOW I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what just happened.
The Actors are great and I do like the ensemble but the storyline is going nowhere.
I will watch the final 2 episodes in 2 weeks to see if it all ties together for us all in the end. I'm down to a 4.
It had/ has so much potential if they can wrap it up and have it make sense. I WANT to love this show!
La nuit a dévoré le monde (2018)
Please save 90 minutes of your life!
I kept waiting for something to happen as I read somewhere "wait until you see the surprise ".......
..Quelle Surprise? Il n'ya pas de Surprise!
I thought maybe it was a remake of The Omega Man but set in Paris especially when the girl showed up but NOPE.
GIVING A 2 FOR GREAT ZOMBIES and really good survival skills for Sam. But the ending? WHAT ENDING?
If someone can let me know what all of those Chimneys or Orange Pipes were and what was happening that would be awesome.
When I saw that suddenly the credits were running I thought O M G ! I rewound to see if I missed something. NOPE. No ENDING.
Can't get my time or money back since they were both FREE.
Saving My Baby (2018)
Probably the Worst Lifetime Movie EVER.
Yikes. I love watching Lifetime & Hallmark Movies. Great for a rainy afternoon and hanging on the couch or home sick from work.
I especially love the Christmas or Valentine's Movies.
This one was seriously the worst acted movie I've ever seen. I could have done a better job!
The Story was BAD and not believable.
The Bad Girl was AWFUL. I absolutely knew what was going to happen next. NO MYSTERY HERE.
I fast forwarded towards the end just to watch what I ALREADY KNEW WOULD HAPPEN.
Had I been able to give a ZERO, I would have. Don't waste the 1.5 hours of your life.
Bird Box (2018)
Amazing Movie covering MOST GENRES Drama, SciFi, Thriller, Horror !
This movie falls into every category but one. It is NOT a Comedy! IN fact, ever since I heard about it AND it was on Netflix, I assumed it was a series!
I was surprised to learn it was a Film just over 2 hours.
WOW! Sandra Bullock was AMAZING as a Mom trying to save her Babies. The entire Cast was really incredible. Lots of Big Name Stars too.
Here's where I am confused ....it's overall Rating!
Was SHOCKED to see such a low score. My only guess is that people didn't know what they were getting themselves into! Seriously, for this genre of film, this was a FANTASTIC MOVIE. It did remind me slightly of A Quiet Place. Only in the sense that it touches all categories but Comedy too. If you like a touch of ANXIETY & Supernatural in your films, then you'll LOVE this.
I come here to review a movie when I think it's a 10.
This was a 10 to me, hands down.
Orphan Black (2013)
In my Top 5 Series EVER!! YUP A 10 !!
WARNING: SPOILERS
I am a big Prime/Netflix Binge Machine. I fell upon ORPHAN BLACK this summer when after watching a different series it said "if you liked this, then you might like..." and gave several series to choose from. ORPHAN BLACK sounded interesting. The Premise was insane but after 1 episode I was hooked.
HOW I EVER MISSED THIS THE FIRST GO ROUND is SHOCKING. I also agree with another poster, Tatiana was so amazing in these parts, I absolutely FORGOT 1 person was playing all of those SISTERS. She should have won BEST LEADING and BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS.
The only upside of not seeing it when it came out was that I watched all 50 episodes in a row after work. I didn't have to wait week to week!!
I'd come home from work and watch 3 episodes before hubby got home. It took a few weeks but I loved the whole series. I did not think it went downhill and I even liked how it ended.
She must have been exhausted playing 7 different people w/WAY DIFFERENT personalities.
I just came back an hour ago from seeing Tatiana on Broadway in "Network" with Bryan Cranston and Tony Goldwyn. I went just because she was in it (although I'm a huge Breaking Bad Fan too-so a 2Fer)
If you are able to see Network, it was FABULOUS.
Ordeal by Innocence: Episode #1.3 (2018)
HAD TO BINGE! No Spoiler Here!
Another Fantastic Binge worthy Prime BBC adaptation of Agatha Christie.
What I love about her novels/movies/tv is that I CAN ABSOLUTELY NOT figure out the "Who Done It?".
I usually can figure out who the bad guy/girl is but AGAIN was surprised by the end of this one! SUPERB! WHAT A SATISFYING END!
All of the Actors were perfect in their parts. Anna Chancellor as The Mother made Joan Crawford look like a nice woman. I already loved Bill Nighy in anything he's done and was brilliant as the Father.
I read that there were some reshoots and there was trouble with continuity because of Season but I did NOT see it. Didn't even cross my mind. Too engulfed in this GREAT Thriller/Mystery.
We watched it over 2 nights. I didn't realize that it was only 3 episodes until the 3rd Episode was on and I went to look up one character on IMDB.
I'll be looking for more of these for sure.
PRIME has done it again!
