All-Star Academy (2015)
Alex and Bobby are Heroes
Love the show. I am always pulling for Alex and Bobby's teams. Their coaching styles are relatable for both team members and viewers.
It is hard to watch mentors whose style is abrasive and abusive. I will mention no names but you should tune in and decide for yourselves. I should note, however, that good drama has protagonists and antagonists.
Food champion professionals are fun to watch. It is interesting to see how the different cooking and teaching styles are played out.
The head to head action with the mentors themselves adds a great level of drama. I only have one question and observation .... When is season 3?
Three Wise Men and a Baby (2022)
Watch This!
Lots of Christmas movies to choose from. Make sure this one is at the top of your list. If this isn't the top rated Hallmark movie (all years) then someone has been finagling the reviews and ratings
You always look for the following: Acting, Writing, Personalities and Surprises. Got 'em all.
You want to miss these: Same old scenarios, same old plot manipulation, same old catch phrases. None of those.
I like to see recognizable faces from the top Hallmark stable of talent. Here in droves.
So, give it a shot. You will not be disappointed and if you decide to write a review, give it 12 stars.
Blending Christmas (2021)
Skip it
A very tired vehicle to reunite the Brady crew. All the actors seem to be looking around to find the drama, and find their lines. Marsha, Marsha, Marsha .... Help!!!
Love & Friendship (2016)
Austen Turns in her Grave
You have a certain level of respect for a Jane Austen piece. Of course, a film adaptation holds many potential pitfalls from the native prose. And this screen version loses all that is captivating about Jane Austen works and instead masquerades as an SNL skit. Not even up to the nigh higher level that Monty Python may have developed in its promise. Jane Austen fans, run away! British period piece fans, find something else.
Silent Witness: Greater Love: Part 2 (2013)
The People Are The Story - Cast and Viewers
My family and I are followers and first-rate fans of Silent Witness. There have been many opinions of the writers and actors, most incongruous. This show had always sought to open hearts as well as minds. You can't do that with the scenes limited only to sterile morgues.
The atmosphere digs deep into the individual thoughts and beliefs of the participants. The pain in this story is real for the viewers and the characters.
I applaud a show that digs a little deeper than the usual crime story. And if we leave a little broken and sad, we can feel something real that many of the sons and daughters of the U.K. and the U.S. have felt from close up or afar.
I am a Vietnam vet, and this story is real at its heart, for cast and viewers. I will always remember the final outcomes. Not all drama in the U.K. and the U.S. can do that.
True Love Blooms (2019)
The Landscape is Worth a View
As with many in this genre, we meet our protagonists early and then chart their individual and, hopefully, cooperative courses. It is always fun to find the crossroads. This one meets the criteria happily.
