Peacemaker (2022)
First episode first scene is awesome
However, just way a few seconds, and the second scene of the same first episode, is the most.. the absolute most cringy scene ever written in the name of moral posturing.
The Wheel of Time: Shadow's Waiting (2021)
Aes Sedai never lies
Questioner: Are you an Aes Sedai ?
Aes Sedai: Yes
Questioner: Kill that woman
Easy job, somehow no one realised this little flaw in the logic?
This is not the first occurence of inconsistencies in this series. Too bad they spend so much on VFX and so little on good writing.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
Politics over faithfulness
Once again, we are constantly fed a political agenda through a story which has been greatly altered from the original, both in tone and quality.
For Hollywood these days, it could any story, as long as gender lines are blurred and same-sex relations are depicted.
If the authors are not able to write a good adaptation, Jordan's story should be respected.
No Time to Die (2021)
Poor ending
To kill james bond rather than grant him respite with his daughter broke tradition with th franchise in a big way. Not only do we say goodbye to Daniel Craig, but we also say good bye to what James Bond represented. A strong male lead, a thrill seeking ladies man, who is replaced in this movie by a worried and older dad who isn't even allowed the right to be one.
Extremely disappointed in this movie and the general direction they took with the character.
Star Trek: Voyager: Real Life (1997)
A tad intense
If you had to experience loosing your 12yo daughter to understand what familly means - we'd all need some serious therapy.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
7 is right
The movie was quite enjoyable. But seriously... the plot does NOT make any sense. In particular, the last 50 minutes seem to have been written by a 10 year old.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang (1999)
This episode was just perfect
It is so refreshing to see the main characters team up like this. And what a voice the Sisko has !
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
This is the worst star trek ever made
I can understand that most people love to feel they are being progressive and well-intended.
And its great those ideals are put forward in a show such as start trek. ST has always been progressive, and this should continue as it is.
But this is not why this show is bad.
This show is bad because the acting is hatrocious, the writing is childish, and most of the history and class of the ST series has been completely lost. Seriously, how many time a character can cry for no reason during an episode before we are authorised to jump out of the window, this is absolute madness.
I have watched everything, because I love ST, and the VFS in this show are letting us see the ST universe in a way rarely showned before. But I never listen to the dialogues. They are written for adolescents and immature adults, and are an insult to previous series.
They have lost perspective.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Chrysalis (1998)
I cant believe people give this 7.1
This is by far one of the best episode of the series. It is extremelly well written and rings true.
It is just sad ST does not like to build on passionate love. They give us relationships which feel so fake and they keep trying to convince us. Even Dax and Worf felt fake, except maybe a few episodes at the end of last season.
This love story felt really real, too bad they did not have the courage to push the genetically engineered storyline. Probably for moral reasons, as always, i.e. The wrong reasons.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Time's Orphan (1998)
This is the most ridiculous plot
This story makes absolutely no sense. Why would they send their little girl back after only a week of trying to get her back to normal. As if you would condemn someone to a life of solitude on a deserted planet, your daughter most of all.
Ridiculous.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Profit and Lace (1998)
Great episode
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode, both funny and deep.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet: Peter (2021)
Episode 6 and 7 made it up for a very poor season
I was extremelly disapointed at the turn Mythic Quest took this season with insanely stupid writing and themes.
The last two episodes about CW were extremelly well written, and culminated on episode 7 with an absolutely heartbreaking twist. Not in term of plot, because it is quite a simple plot, but the emotions, the human interactions, feels deeply true and fantastically well capture.
It is almost as if another team of more gifted writers took over the show for two episodes.
Whoever they are: Thank you, gifted writers, for saving season 2.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Statistical Probabilities (1997)
Back to moralising
The reality is that if one day we manage to engineer our genetic makeup to improve our cognitive abilities we will look more like bashir and not at all like those mentally ill patients. Simply because we will have removed genetic predisposition for diseases as we manage to actually improve on cognitive abilities.
But that's not acceptable to some people who think man is already perfect as he is. They have to write episodes like this to say Eugenics are bad.
Instead of actually finding arguments that stand the trial of logical eximation, they'd rather create monsters and moralise. As if it was an argument.
I always thought Star Trek writers had a courageous vision of the future, but everything related to eugenics and genetic advancements is plagued with short sighteness and half baked moral arguments.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet: Please Sign Here (2021)
Season two is an absolute disaster
This has been the most underwhelming episode of all so far. Season one had such a richer story focused on creativity and dreams, teamwork.
Season two has no storyline, and has absolutely nothing to do with videogames.
The Expanse: Gaugamela (2020)
Raising the bar, at last
Last season and the first three episodes of season 5 were really dull. This episode on the other hand is setting up some exciting threads and was really well done. Not only the action but the writing of dialogues and character developement was also better quality. It really raised the bar for the show. Lets hope the rest of the season follows suit.
Deadly Class (2018)
This is the most immoral show I have ever seen
This is a perfect example of the lack of moral compass some hollywood producers suffer from. It is a very scary show, scary for the future of mankind.
Star Trek: The Next Generation: Darmok (1991)
No no and NO!
This is exactly the same very partial logic about communication as the movie Arrival. A race able to build spaceships would not speak with 3 word sentences. The information content is just too small. Also, if they are able to solve equations, they are able to talk about time, and space, events, variables. They would of course find a way to communicate besides just repeating the same words all the time.
My main issue is not so much that the episode falls short in the logic, but that it is rated so high. It does not deserve 8.7, especially with such episode as drumhead rated at a similar level.
Star Trek: Discovery: That Hope Is You, Part 1 (2020)
They did not get what star trek is before, still dont get it now
This first episode is a testament to the lack of insight into what star trek had represented for all star trek fans. They created, once more, a non stop action teenager grade scenario. And the acting is just so.. so bad. Every emotion is over the top, worst than any serious series out there, definetely not Startrek / Starfleet standard.
Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Price (1989)
Deanna Troi cannot be trusted
The episode was great, but the moral of the story, never tell your secret to deanna troi, her self-importance knows no bound in this episode.
The Beyond (2017)
So stupid it is close to madness
While some elements show that the writers have researched (a bit) the scientific topics they were covering, the plot is painfully childish. I wish I could slap the madman who birthed this turd, one slap for every minute I wasted contemplated this abysmal crap fest. Also... acting is atrocious - where did they find those guys ??!
The Titan (2018)
Could have been great
Great start, real problematics, but yet again this prophecy of the apprentice sorcerer haunts the mind of god fearing imbeciles who write scripts for the masses. Forced evolution is the future of humanity.
