Bodyguard (2011)
Remaking is not an easy business
I have watched the first movie "Bodyguard" in Malayalam starring Dileep. Dileep's "Vijay Krishnan" was a delightful comedy masterpiece. Then I watched the Tamil remake "Kaavalan" starring Vijay. Vijay's "Bhuminathan" was the best than can be given to that role. He was comic, intelligent and emotional. Now I have watches "Bodyguard" in Hindi remake starring the so called superstar Salman Khan. Wow!!! Salman's "Lovely Singh" is a god. He can do anything. Nothing can hurt him even the rake completely made of metal and even balls go punctured from hitting him. I don't know what went wrong, the director is same, the storyline is same but the movie becomes super hit in two languages but becomes so irritating in third. I can't blame the director coz i am seeing his movies for a long time they are really good. So, everything points to Salman with his so called Body and all his flying on the train stunts. The climax of the movie is the only thing that made the other two movies successful, but i don't think any of us would even see it till the interval. The comedy scenes are altered for Salman Khan. The song "I love You" has many scenes which in actual films involved the hero getting hurt by the ball not the ball getting hurt by the hero, Wooden rake hitting him and he fells unconscious, and the last it's the hero who fells in the pool not pushing some girl into the pool. The Tamil remake was so superb, so i expected a lot better in Hindi but disappointed, this one doesn't go near those movies. It's just over exaggerated Stunt movie with some stud romance.
