The Running Jumping & Standing Still Film (1959)
Bizarre!
Its just mad. I'm a big fan of Sellers. This just blows everything else out of the water. When it comes to craziness this beats anything. Well almost anything. It makes No sense! please note it is not actually on this DVD its on another DVD in the UK REGION 2 The Peter Sellers Story... As He Filmed It please note this DVD also contains a short film called 'I Say, I Say, I Say' as well as a documentary about Peter Sellers, this includes an interview never seen before as Sellers confiscated the film the day after it was shot at his home in Ireland, feeling that it was too revealing about himself. Interesting Stuff I'm Sure You'll Agree. Anyway go watch "The Running Jumping Standing Still Film" Watch it just to say you have. If You are a fan of Milligan/Sellers/Secombe You must watch If You are a fan of short films or a student watch it. Its just so odd!!
Lara Croft: Lethal and Loaded (2001)
Unique Exploration
There is nothing wrong with this documentary, in fact I believe it answers questions well and looks at things from a media studies perspective. Media Students will learn well from this. As will business students on how the market is used to get what you want. Gamers will enjoy this documentary especially fans of the Tomb Raider games. Interviews with the creator of Lara and talks with the big wigs at EDIOS and CORE DESIGN are insightful and eye opening. Definitely worth a look. Whilst this documentary contains some brief CGI-ed nudity it is easy to watch for all ages. Please make comment on this film if Lara has had an impact on your life
Land of the Dead (2005)
George A. Romero's Bland Of The Dead
Ah Romero's Phantom Menace! What was he thinking? There are some great bits there but really whats going on? Too much CGI. Not enough cheese. No Ken Foree. Where's BUB? Walking through the river - inspired, but come on some of the stuff was CGI-ed to much. I saw "DAY" an hour before I saw "LAND" and thought the severed head was more realistic than the crap severed CGI head that looked more fake than Jordan's chest! "DAY" is far superior to "LAND" then again all of them are "NIGHT", "DAWN" and "DAY". The original trilogy surpass "LAND" with ease.
What a disappointment! Never mind Romero. You followed in Lucas' footsteps congratulations on ruining perfection. It'll be forgotten so I wouldn't worry about it. It was "never" made. It doesn't exist.
So much hype and not enough put up on screen. Tut, tut, tut.
Starsky & Hutch (2004)
Not Worth Seeing
I saw this film on Easter Monday. I went to see it and expected a great film with laughter and endless action. What I got was essentially a film with very bad casting. Owen Wilson was great in this film, he pulled it off brilliantly. Ben Stiller. Oh Ben. Why was he chosen, he was terrible. He just isn't funny. All he did was make a fool of himself. His acting has never been particularly good and this is a perfect example of one of the times where it has been at an all time low. As there are currently plans to make a sequel I would seriously doubt I would pay out five quid to see Stiller kill it even more. Although it was a good film just ruined by Ben Stiller's appearance on screen.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
We Want MORE!
I went to see Volume 1 this afternoon and wow! I was amazed! It has to be Tarantino's Best Film so far. The camera angles, the awesome music choice, the brilliant acting. It left us on a cliffhanger just asking for more! More Carnage! More Blood! More Revenge! We Want Her To KILL BILL! Quentin Tarantino, you are an inspiration to us all!
His First Coming: Reservoir Dogs - Brilliant!
His Second Film: Pulp Fiction - Amazing!
His Third Story: Jackie Brown - Unbelievable!
The Fourth Film: Kill Bill - The Best So Far We Want More!
