Enjoyed the movie; nice performances of Christophe Waltz and Annette Bening. As far as I can understand the movie is based on the true story regarding Viola Drath and Albrecht Muth relationship and marriage (Viola Herms Drath - born 1920 - murdered 2011) and Albrecht Gero Muth - born 1964).
