Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011)
Extremely Painful & Incredibly Boring
Oh, where to start? Opposite of many of the positive reviews, I can not help but wonder if I saw the same film as some of the other viewers. I thought this movie was absolutely dreadful. It was boring, had a poor (or no) plot, a waste of Tom Hanks' talent, but most importantly, this kid was quite possibly the most annoying character I have ever seen in a film. I am familiar with autistic children, and he not only did not portray accurate symptoms, he was a horrible actor. I honestly would have left after 30 minutes, but my friend was kind of into it and I kept thinking that it had to get better. I am not exaggerating when I say it was one of the worst films I have EVER seen (and I have seen a lot of films). It was painful, and I really did not think I was going to make it through all 2+ hours of this torment. Don't waste you money, or in my case I wouldn't have even wasted my free tickets for this mess of a movie!
Christmas Lodge (2011)
Decent Movie
I agree with some of the other comments; overall, I think it was a pretty good movie. I liked the lead actress and the message of the movie. The mother was too old for the part, and it wasn't really a Christmas movie per se. I also agree that there was absolutely NO chemistry and no buildup to the relationship between Mary and Jack. I did not see them together at all, and perhaps better casting or better character development could have improved this.
The scenery was beautiful and shot well.
Overall, I enjoyed this movie and would recommend it to other viewers if you are looking for a clean, wholesome movie that the entire family can enjoy!
Young Adult (2011)
Pretty Good Flick
I wanted to love this movie, but it feel short of my expectations but just a little bit. Overall, it was a very entertaining and heartfelt movie. Charlize played her character very well, and made us care about her even though she was a train wreck. Her relationship with Matt (Patton Oswalt) really made this movie in my opinion. He was the only person in her life to really care about her enough to tell her the truth about herself. They were enjoyable to watch together.
I think this is a movie that both men and women can enjoy, and it is filled with humor throughout the movie.
*Those making comments about her having an abortion - I did not hear that anywhere in the movie. She said she had a miscarriage!
I Don't Know How She Does It (2011)
Worst Movie EVER
Let me start by saying I LOVE SJP in SATC. She has flopped in most of her major motion pictures, but this is by far, one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. Thank goodness my friend had free passes for us, because I can not imagine wasting any amount of money on this garbage. The plot, acting, and entire movie was horrible. It was honestly painful to sit through and I would not recommend this movie to anyone. I love watching movies, and I have seen some bad ones in my time, but this one honestly takes the cake! I do not understand why she continues to be casted in anything because she should have ended her career on a high note with SATC because I don't think she will ever redeem herself as a quality actress.
