Yes, the top of a military uniform is referred to as a blouse
5 November 2021
I was puzzled by Dr. Bellows' referring to the top (jacket) portion of a military uniform as a 'blouse,' in this episode, so I looked it up... This is, in fact, correct terminology. So this episode not only featured the incomparable Groucho Marx, it taught me something too. :) can't beat that.

I admit it, it grew on me
20 February 2021
When this show first premiered, I thought, "What a total cash grab." I had to really want to like it because of that cynical premise. And yeah, at first, Jameela Jamil seemed like a square peg in the round hole... she tried very, very hard to have "chemistry" with the Tenderloins and it was like a very awkward party where people were thrown together in a room and forcing themselves to like each other. That awkwardness has abated somewhat as they continue to work with each other. Which is what it is, a job.

Putting aside the fact that there are some truly nauseating and horrifying events depicted on this program, and everyone has the option of just turning away from the screen at that point, the show itself seems like a great exhibit of a random number generator. "Let's just throw out a bunch of numbers and see who guesses the closest." Which, essentially, is what it is. It's like a raffle, if you really think about it. I honestly think no "professionals" have been involved in evaluating any of these situations, because some situations that you think would be horribly painful, embarrassing or traumatic, get numbers in the low 20s, for Pete's sake. And seemingly trivial events, like getting trapped in a foldout couch while someone is recording the whole thing, get some pretty high numbers. There is an arbitrariness to it. But then as the show progressed, it grew on me. I realized that it's not about the game itself, or about watching gross videos, it's about the interactions between the Tenderloins themselves, and with Jameela and with the contestants. When I decided to drop any pretense of thinking of this as a game show, I really started to enjoy it. Relax and enjoy the pretty colors and the blinking lights. :)

Here's a top secret, MTV's been doing this same show for 10 years
4 November 2020
This is the same premise as "Ridiculousness" on MTV, which has been on that channel for the past 10 years. A guy, a girl and a guy sitting and watching videos and making comments. Only that show is funny. Oh my stars, is this show painful to watch. All the awkwardness of a party where you don't know anyone and the disadvantage of no free booze. C'mon, truTV, nobody can think of yet another spinoff of "Impractical Jokers?!"

Surreal

Burt Reynolds, Mickey Rooney, Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Wiiliams, Gary Busey and David Soul all in the same episode. Who needs a plot? Who cares?! Surreal and fantastic.

I wish I had never seen this
17 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Clair De Lune used to be my favorite piece of music. The makers of this film can go sit on a tack for turning DeBussy's masterpiece into one long, painful, painfully unfunny poop joke. Thanks for that. I really appreciate it. I'll never unsee that image each time I listen to Clair De Lune.

I wish I had never seen any of this movie. Unredeemably, unendingly, unspeakably awful. The cruelty, narcissism, self involvement and self indulgence of the majority of the characters knows no bounds.

I realize this is the point of the movie. I get it. It couldn't have been clearer than if a house had fallen on me. However... when cruelty and annihilation of animals, then using the dead body as a prop in a quote-unquote art show, is the central theme, that's it for me. I'm done.

Please take the time you wasted watching this movie, and spend an equal amount of time volunteering at an animal shelter, take the time to go online and donate to an animal charity, or simply spend some time with a beloved pet. That is what I'm going to do in an effort to make myself feel better after watching this atrocity.
